Chapter 396 Intrusion
William opened the car door and got out of the passenger seat.
Today, Landon temporarily reassigned him, once again transforming him into the CEO's secretary of KnightSpear Group. Dressed in a high-end, tailored gray suit, his eyes were sharp and serious, exuding an overwhelming charm.
Female employees around him cast admiring glances, but he paid no attention. He simply opened the rear car door and bowed respectfully.
"Mr. Taylor, please."
Landon's composed and handsome face showed no emotion, like a perfect and timeless statue.
He stepped out of the car with his long legs, and the moment he appeared, the women gasped in astonishment!
"So handsome! I have new material for my dreams tonight!"
"You're so greedy. You already have Mr. Wellington in your dreams, and now you want to add another one?"
"Is he that handsome? I think he's not as good as Mr. Wellington."
"You don't know how to appreciate. He and Mr. Wellington have completely different styles. Mr. Wellington is devastatingly handsome, while he is restrained, silently gripping your heart. He's more alluring!"
"But who is he? Why is he appearing in front of the Wellington Group? Is he here to see someone?"
Landon's face was as calm as water, and he walked into the Wellington Group's entrance without a word.
William followed behind him. Though there were only two of them, their presence exerted an invisible pressure.
The two of them approached the reception desk, and the receptionist hurriedly stood up.
"I'm here to see Edward, Mr. Wellington," William spoke first, his voice indifferent.
"Mr. Wellington?" The receptionist was stunned.
Everyone knew who Edward was; they rarely saw him even twice a year. Guests with appointments were always personally escorted by the CEO's secretary, Bart. No one ever just barged in demanding to see Edward.
"Do you have an appointment?" The receptionist asked as a matter of procedure.
William replied, "No."
"I'm sorry, but without an appointment, you can't see Mr. Wellington. Please contact Bart first."
"Please inform Edward or his secretary."
Landon, who had been silent, suddenly spoke coldly, "The person who wants to see him is the CEO of KnightSpear Group, Landon."
The receptionist was stunned, and after a moment, she hurriedly picked up the phone to call Bart.
Landon didn't wait for Bart to come down to receive them. He and William took the elevator directly to the floor where the conference room was located.
As soon as they entered the hallway, they were stopped by bodyguards.
"Have Mr. Wellington come out to see me," Landon ordered expressionlessly.
"Mr. Wellington is in an important meeting and cannot see anyone. Please leave." The bodyguard said firmly.
Who just barged in, demanding to see Edward? What did they think this place was?
If he let them through easily, he wouldn't have a job anymore.
Landon's eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze deep, and he walked straight ahead.
The two bodyguards reached out to stop him, but suddenly, William stepped in front of Landon.
William's brows furrowed, and with two quick punches, he knocked both bodyguards to the ground.
It wasn't that the bodyguards were weak; they just never expected anyone to dare start a fight on the Wellington Group's turf!
The two bodyguards scrambled to their feet, calling for backup while trying to counterattack.
However, they underestimated William's combat skills. He held a black belt in Taekwondo and was trained personally by Landon in his youth. Two mere bodyguards were no match for him!
William's eyes were sharp. This time, he didn't use his fists; a few swift kicks left the bodyguards unable to even crawl.
"The Wellington Group's bodyguards are too weak. If Edward relies on people like you to protect him, he's not far from death." William sneered, dusting off his suit and cracking his neck as if loosening up.
"William, let's go."
Landon strode forward with determination, unstoppable.
At this moment, Bart hurriedly ran out from the conference room to stop them again.
"Mr. Taylor, we welcome your visit, but it's inappropriate to injure the Wellington Group's people, don't you think?"
"Should Edward come out, or should I go in?" Landon asked, as if he hadn't heard Bart's words.
Bart's anger surged, and his expression turned grim. "I'm sorry, Mr. Wellington is in a meeting and cannot see you. Please leave!"
Landon's lips curled slightly, and he took a step closer.
Bart's internal alarm bells rang, and he spread his arms to block him.
In the next second, Landon moved swiftly. Bart didn't even see what happened before his arm was twisted behind his back and then forcefully thrown aside.
Bart fell to the ground, his arm dislocated!
He gritted his teeth in pain, sweating profusely, as he watched Landon and William push open the door and enter.
The atmosphere in the conference room was serious.
Edward sat at the head of the table, exuding an imposing presence.
Victor Walsh held his breath, listening to Edward's low voice as he conveyed the next steps.
But the loud bang of the door opening drew everyone's attention to Landon and William.
Everyone was shocked, exchanging glances.
Who in the room didn't recognize Landon?
Edward knew they had arrived, but he ignored them, continuing to read his report methodically.
"Edward, let's talk." Landon's expression was cold.
He called Edward by his first name in front of everyone, showing no respect.
Edward paused, then slowly lifted his long lashes to meet Landon's cold gaze.
"That's all for today. We'll continue tomorrow. Meeting adjourned."
Victor Walsh and the others quickly stood up, and in the blink of an eye, only the three of them remained in the conference room.
The air was tense, the atmosphere oppressive.
