Chapter 207 Mr. Clark Will Cover Tonight's Expenses

With Molly calling "Eric," he felt like his bones turned to jelly.

His Adam's apple bobbed, and he had an unexpected reaction.

Tears rolled down from her red eyes, hitting him right in the heart, making him forget the last time she ditched him.

"Lily? Did Evelyn give it to you?" Eric squinted, gently wiping her tears with his rough fingertip.

Molly nodded hard, her nose red.

"Did you lose it here?"

She nodded again, eyes still red.

"Don't worry, I'll help you."

Eric took Molly's hand and walked to the stage, everyone watching.

A rosy light followed them, making them look like a painting.

Molly shyly lowered her eyes but sneaked a glance at him.

'Eric looks fierce but is really beautiful. His intense, noble face is captivating,' Molly thought.

She bit her lip, her eyes tracing Eric's features, memorizing his handsome face.

"Music, stop." Eric grabbed the mic at the DJ's spot, and the lively place went silent.

Jessica and Debra were having fun until someone pointed at the screen.

Jessica jumped up, screaming angrily!

Everyone was startled.

Debra saw Molly and Eric holding hands, looking at each other like no one else existed. She was so mad her chest felt like it would explode!

'Is he declaring his love? Molly! If you take my love, you'll suffer!' Debra thought.

"What's going on? How is Eric with that idiot? Speak!" Jessica yelled at her bodyguard, eyes red with anger. "Didn't I tell you to watch her? How did she end up with Eric?"

"I did watch her, but I didn't expect Eric to show up at Alahle Club. She was wandering around and ran into him," the bodyguard stammered.

"Useless!" Jessica kicked the bodyguard's leg in anger.

The bodyguard was fine, but Jessica lost her balance and fell, screaming.

Their friends, including Debra, laughed.

Meanwhile, Eric smiled warmly at everyone. "Everyone's in a good mood tonight. How about a game? My sister here lost a teddy bear."

A photo of the teddy bear appeared on the big screen behind him.

The crowd murmured.

"Sister? Doesn't Mr. Clark have a famous pianist sister? She doesn't look like this."

"This 'sister' could be a potential lover."

"But she looks so young, still a virgin, right? Oh no! She can't be underage, can she?"

"You don't get it. Powerful men like these gentle, scholarly girls."

Molly heard some remarks, her cheeks turning crimson. She wanted to pull her hand away from Eric.

But Eric held her sweaty hand tightly, so she couldn't move.

"Whoever finds this teddy bear tonight gets free entry to Alahle Club for a year."

The crowd erupted in excitement!

A countdown timer appeared on the big screen.

"Five, four, three, two, one, game start!"

Eric's lips curled into a wicked smile, and he waved his hand.

The crowd spread out, searching every corner of Alahle Club. From the stage, it looked spectacular!

Molly blinked in surprise, her mouth agape.

Eric gazed at her astonished profile, his eyes darkening.

"Come. Let's wait in the private room. Your teddy bear will be found soon."

Eric took Molly to another private room where a few women were drinking heavily with three wealthy young men, all friends Eric had made while hanging out in Mugden.

Seeing these strangers hugging and cuddling, Molly's face turned as red as a cherry. She lowered her head, wishing she could disappear. Eric practically dragged her in.

As soon as they entered, the wealthy young men started whistling and jeering.

Molly was flustered, her face going from red to pale.

"What are you yelling about? This is..." Eric began, but then remembered Edward's words and quickly changed his tone. "This is my sister, so watch your mouths!"

"Eric, that teddy bear of Molly's is pretty pricey!" one of his friends said.

"She just likes that one. It was a gift from my first love, so it has special meaning. What do you guys know?" Eric rolled his eyes, finding them unbearably vulgar.

"First love? You mean Evelyn?" Molly asked, wide-eyed.

"Yes, I liked Evelyn. She was my first love," Eric admitted with a smile.

He had liked Evelyn, and even though he was rejected, he felt proud to have admired such an outstanding woman.

But Molly seemed to explode, shouting, "No! You can't like Evelyn! Evelyn belongs to Edward, and no one is allowed to compete with him!"

Eric was speechless.

"How can you, being so close to Edward, think about Evelyn?" Molly's face was full of righteous indignation, her fists tightly clenched. "If Edward knew, how heartbroken would he be? If you try to take Evelyn away, I will never speak to you again!"

Molly's words came out childish and ridiculous.

The room fell silent, then everyone burst into laughter!

Molly's face turned crimson with embarrassment, and she nervously pinched the hem of her clothes.

Eric didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but seeing her embarrassment, he quickly stopped smiling and gave everyone a cold, sweeping glance.

It was like someone pressed the pause button; everyone held their breath, not daring to laugh at Molly anymore.

"Molly, I didn't expect your sense of morality to be so strong." Eric bent down slightly and ruffled Molly's soft hair, squinting his eyes. "Those who know would say you're standing up for Edward. Those who don't might think you're insanely jealous."

"Why would I be jealous? " Molly asked seriously.

Eric fell silent.

'Alright, I get it now. Molly and I are from different worlds. But her world has caught my attention,' Eric thought.

Throughout Alahle Club, people were busy searching for Molly's teddy bear, causing chaos everywhere.

The private room had a one-way glass door leading to a large terrace outside.

Eric stayed inside drinking with his friends, while Molly stood alone on the terrace, nervously gripping the railing and praying someone would find her beloved teddy bear.

"I found it! I found it!" A woman jumped onto the stage, holding a teddy bear high above her head.

"Where did you find it?" Eric asked.

"In the flush tank of the men's restroom!" she answered.

The men present instinctively covered their crotches, thinking, 'When women get ruthless, men are out of the picture!'

Molly jumped up in joy, looking like a child.

'Wow, that was faster than I expected. Money really does talk. They'd probably eat dirt with a smile if I paid them enough,' Eric thought as he walked onto the terrace, a cigarette dangling from his lips, the orange glow flickering.

"I'll go get my teddy bear!"

Molly was a bit scared to be alone with him and turned to leave, but Eric's strong, tall figure blocked her way.

After that car accident, he had secretly vowed never to let Molly slip away again!

"No rush, your teddy bear is wet. I'll have that lady from earlier dry it for you before giving it back," Eric said.

Molly kept her head down, not daring to meet his eyes, and mumbled, "Thank you."

"Congratulations to this lady for winning first place! A year of free entry to Alahle Club is yours!" Ellen said with a smile, taking the teddy bear from the woman.

The woman was ecstatic, and everyone else was envious.

After all, Alahle Club was the most expensive nightclub in Mugden, so a year of free entry was a big deal!

Eric squinted his eyes, making a gesture to Ellen with the hand holding the cigarette.

Ellen understood and loudly announced, "Thank you all for helping to find the teddy bear! Tonight's expenses are all covered by Mr. Clark!"
