Chapter 463 You Must Bring Them Back to Me
"Mr. Mays's medical skills are not inferior to the White God in Mythorica." Landon's brows furrowed slightly, his voice chilling, "Mr. Clark, you come from a prestigious family, you should understand that there's always someone better, right?"
Evelyn and Ulysses remained silent.
Why did it sound like Landon was a bit upset?
Was he standing up for Adrian?
Eric, being the eldest grandson of Maurice, was used to a life of luxury and didn't need to be overly observant.
But he noticed the hint of anger in Landon's cold eyes and quickly forced a dry smile, "I, I was just asking, just asking. If Mr. Taylor invited him, he must be a miracle worker. I'm just worrying for nothing."
"Mr. Clark, Mr. Mays is even better than I. Don't worry, he will succeed in the surgery."
Evelyn's voice choked up, her eyes red, "Once Edward gets through this, I'll still need Mr. Mays' help in the future. He's also an expert in neurology; he should have a way to deal with Edward's aftereffects."
The more she spoke, the softer her voice became, filled with guilt that was heart-wrenching.
Eric's breath hitched.
He was not good with words and didn't dare to offer comfort, fearing that a wrong word might touch her pain and make things worse.
"No matter what, it's all Lloyd's fault!" Eric's eyes turned red as he rolled up his sleeves, his exposed arm bulging with violent strength, "Lloyd's in the car, right? Before we send him back, I'll make sure he pays!"
At that moment, a line of cars drove into the underground parking lot, heading straight for them.
The screeching of brakes echoed in the dim light, an overwhelming sense of oppression bearing down on them.
"They're not here for good." Landon's handsome brows furrowed as he wrapped his arm around Evelyn's waist.
"Indeed, they're not here for good."
Evelyn's heart tightened, her eyes coldly fixed on Billy Phillips as he stepped out of the car.
The middle-aged man, around fifty, wore a crisp police uniform, exuding authority. A glance at his epaulettes revealed he was at least a chief-level officer.
Behind him were a group of people also in Torontow police uniforms, all sent by the police.
These people surrounded Evelyn and the others with a menacing air, the atmosphere suffocating.
Ulysses and Eric were on high alert, ready for a fight!
Bound and gagged with a rag, Lloyd recognized Billy as a good friend of his boss, knowing his savior had arrived. He struggled to make a sound, writhing in the car, causing it to shake.
Without a word, Ulysses pulled out a thin dagger from somewhere and stabbed it into Lloyd's thigh with a blank expression.
Lloyd's face contorted in pain, unable to scream, his body convulsing in agony.
"You better behave." Ulysses withdrew the dagger, his cold eyes narrowing as he flicked a cigarette to his lips, "Otherwise, believe me, even if you don't leave this car, I have a hundred ways to deal with you. Torturing people is my favorite game."Lloyd shuddered, the immense fear making him forget the pain.
He now felt that Ulysses was the most terrifying, practically a demon.
Throughout the journey, he watched Ulysses pull out one strange item after another, like a magician.
He was truly scared to death!
"We received a report that an important hostage from our country is being held by you." Billy cleared his throat, "I advise you to hand over the hostage immediately, surrender your weapons, and come with us for investigation."
"Otherwise, we will take severe action against you. Our country's laws are strict, and you can't afford the consequences of multiple offenses!"
"Strict laws? Are you joking?" Evelyn laughed mockingly.
Billy eyed the beautiful Evelyn, a cold smile playing on his lips, "Young lady, you dare to speak so boldly, aren't you afraid of rotting in jail?"
Lloyd perked up, listening to the conversation outside, a smug smile appearing on his face.
"Smile? What are you smiling at!"
Ulysses caught him, his eyes widening as he swung his arm, punching Lloyd in the face, causing a nosebleed.
"The one who should rot in jail is that heinous 'hostage' you're talking about."
Evelyn's eyes were filled with hatred, a chilling light emanating from them. "Lloyd has been trafficking arms, smuggling drugs, and committing all sorts of crimes in your country. Instead of arresting him, you aid and abet him. With such a corrupt society, you dare speak of justice and strict laws?"
Eric blinked, "Well said! Say more!"
"You!" Billy was furious, his eyes bulging.
"But what Lloyd did in your country is none of my business. I can only sympathize with your citizens living in such dire conditions."
Evelyn clenched her fists in anger, "But he killed an innocent girl in my country. He must come back with me to face justice, a life for a life! I don't care who he is or who backs him. I must take Lloyd, dead or alive!"Billy gritted his teeth, "This man is from Torontow, and should be arrested and tried by Torontow police! Even if he goes to jail, it should be here. You foreigners are not police and have no right to touch him!"
"Also, you shot and killed several of our island's residents on South Island. According to our laws, you should all be hanged! And you still think you can take him? Dream on!"
"Arrest them and take them back!"
At Billy's command, several police officers lunged forward, pulling out handcuffs to detain them.
Landon and Eric immediately reacted, standing in front of Evelyn without hesitation.
Meanwhile, Ulysses, sitting in the car watching Lloyd, had already gripped a gun, ready to rush out and protect Evelyn and Landon.
One officer reached out to grab Landon, but Landon sneered, grabbing his wrist and throwing him to the ground.
The officer hadn't even reacted before he was thrown into the air, landing heavily on the ground with a dislocated arm and a fractured tailbone!
"Awesome!" Eric's eyes widened in admiration.
Once they returned safely to Mugden, he would humbly ask Landon to teach him that move.
"You! How dare you assault a police officer?"
Billy was both shocked and furious, knowing that assaulting an officer was a serious crime in any country, and he roared, "All of you, get them! Use any means necessary, but arrest them and throw them in jail! Go!"
"Yes!"
Everyone charged forward, and the situation was about to spiral out of control!
Evelyn's eyes were fierce, burning with a fiery rage, ready to cause a massive uproar.
Suddenly, several loud honks echoed through the parking lot, halting the chaos.
Even Evelyn and Landon were taken aback.
In the dim light, a top-tier luxury car with a silver top and black body slowly approached them.
