Chapter 59 The Last Time, Not to Be Repeated

In the office of the KS World Hotel general manager, it was also silent.

Evelyn stood with her back to the floor-to-ceiling windows, hands behind her back, exuding a powerful and dominant aura.

"Who allowed you to expose that video?"

"You said to find a video that would stir up public opinion..."

William stood straight behind her, his face gloomy.

"William, as my secretary and someone who grew up with me, you should know exactly what I hate the most!"

Evelyn slowly turned her head, "You are helping me, but you are also taking advantage. I know what you're plotting. You want to use this method to garner public sympathy for me and contrast it with Debra's disgraceful actions."

The more she spoke, the lower William's head drooped.

Every word struck directly at his conscience.
"But I told you, I don't need it," Evelyn said coldly, her eyes adding a touch of frost. "Doing these things is just a small effort on my part, and it's the bare minimum of moral etiquette that being a human tells me to do. Even if I really dislike Debra, I disdain using this kind of self-promotion to oppress her. Once acts of kindness are scrutinized and criticized under the spotlight, they lose their essence."

"Ms. Taylor, I was wrong. I was thinking..."

"It doesn't matter what you were thinking," Evelyn interrupted. She turned around, expressionless, and picked up her phone. "I'm going to call Landon right now and have him summon you back. Your way of doing things doesn't align with my rhythm."

"No!" William's face turned pale, and he hurriedly reached out and grabbed Evelyn's wrist. "You can punish me however you want! Make me clean toilets in hotels, wash dishes in the kitchen, or even withhold my salary! Just one thing, please don't make me leave you, please?"

Evelyn frowned slightly, her wrist starting to hurt from his grip. But his unwavering gaze at this moment also startled her.

William came from a judicial family – his father was a prominent judge, his mother a well-known lawyer, and his two older brothers held important positions in the judicial system. Although they couldn't compare to those wealthy families, they were still influential figures in Hameen. As the youngest, he had received a high education and had been showered with love since childhood.

But for KnightSpear Group, for her, this man was willing to humble himself to the dust. Though he had a brighter future ahead, he chose to sacrifice himself and become a mere secretary by her side.

As Evelyn considered this, her heart softened a bit, and she sighed. "This is the last time; don't let it happen again."

"Thank you, Ms. Taylor! I will never act alone again!" William's eyes glistened, and he was almost on the verge of tears.

"Be more disciplined with your hands from now on," Evelyn gently lowered her eyes and smiled.

Only then did William realize that he was still holding Evelyn's wrist. His heart raced, and he quickly let go, his cheeks flushing. In his palm, it felt as if there was a lingering fragrance.

"Now, about you trending..." Evelyn said, "I will inform Ulysses to handle it. Come with me now."

Evelyn pointed to the suit jacket on the hanger, and William understood. He quickly took down the suit and considerately helped her put it on as if he were a butler.

"Let's go meet Debra."

Debra found out that Evelyn was trending again, and she was especially anxious.

"Mom! What should I do now?!" Debra called Tiffany in frustration, venting her grievances. "I finally trended, but that village girl is intentionally making things difficult for me. She wants to ruin me!"

"Are you out of your mind? What kind of trend is that? Don't you realize it yourself? Aren't you ashamed of it but rather taking pride in it?!" Tiffany scolded loudly.
Debra rubbed her forehead irritably. She certainly wasn't as foolish as Tiffany made her out to be, but Lily's sudden popularity on social media had diverted her attention.

"What do we do now? This negative news was already detrimental to me, and Lily's heroic act has made me completely defenseless. Am I just going to let that country bumpkin trample all over me?" she exclaimed.

"I have already explained the situation to your father. He told you not to intervene or apologize. He does not want you to make any statement," Tiffany said in a low voice.

"And Edward will definitely resolve this matter for you. He is not someone who allows any harm to the company's interests. Just stay quiet and don't come out thinking you can handle it yourself, understand?" she added.

Debra felt comforted by Tiffany's words, and her expression improved. She hung up the phone and continued shopping at her boutique with the two sisters she had played with at the hotel last time.

Meanwhile, outside the EV boutique, a top-of-the-line Rolls-Royce slowly stopped in front of the entrance. Evelyn, dressed in an exquisite bespoke navy-blue suit, stepped out of the car, closely followed by William, without paying attention to the surrounding onlookers, and walked into the boutique.

As soon as she appeared, every store employee's eyes were drawn to her. She was so beautiful and elegant, exuding an air of luxury.

"Hello, miss. How may I assist you?" a female attendant eagerly approached. Evelyn's beauty made her overlook the handsome male secretary standing behind her.

"Call your boss, Debra. I don't need anyone else but her to serve me," Evelyn cut to the chase, devoid of any politeness.

"Uh... may I ask your name?"

Evelyn's vermilion lips curled up, and her coquettishness dazzled the eyes even more. "I'm Miss Brown."

The female attendant didn't dare delay and quickly went upstairs to fetch Debra.

When Debra heard that a beautiful woman surnamed Brown was looking for her, her expression froze in surprise. Her face flushed, and she contemplated throwing something to vent her anger. But then she remembered how expensive everything was in her store. Just as she didn't know what to do, her friend spoke up.

"Debra, I'm sure that woman who started that rumor is behind this!" one of her friends said angrily.

"Yeah! Now that she's here, you can't let her go easily. This is a perfect opportunity to vent your frustrations!"

"We will stand by your side and teach her a lesson! Let's go confront her!"

Debra was encouraged by her friends, and her anger burned even brighter. Leading her two friends downstairs, she marched with great momentum.

"Lily! You shameless abandoned woman! Do you dare come to me?!" Debra shouted.

Evelyn, currently sitting with her legs crossed, even though she wore pants without a single wrinkle, still attracted people's envy. Sipping her coffee, she appeared serene and comfortable, as if she were in her own home.

"Ms. Debra, is this really how you conduct your business? Responding to customers with such hostility, are you not afraid of tarnishing your reputation?" Evelyn calmly questioned.
"You're not a worthy guest! You're just trying to seduce Edward and get a share of our family's wealth!" Debra pointed her expensive crystal nails directly at Evelyn's face.

At that moment, there were no customers in the store, only the waitstaff.

Everyone looked at each other in surprise.

Could it be true? This young lady's extravagant appearance and even her shining hair give her the aura of a wealthy heiress. How could she be like what Debra said?

"Fine, I'll be frank. I'm not here to buy anything. After all, the things here are at most third-rate and not worthy of my attention," Evelyn calmly smiled.

This shallow and foolish woman in front of her was not worth her anger at all.

Debra wanted to retort, but when she saw the priceless "Ragnarok" necklace hanging from Evelyn's chest, her arrogance instantly deflated.

"I have a simple purpose for coming here."

Evelyn set down her cup, not even bothering to look up, "Please hold a press conference and apologize to the hotel staff who were defamed and hospitalized because of you."
