Chapter 395 Strategy Meeting

Landon walked towards the underground parking lot with a somber expression.

Just as he reached the car, Adrian's voice sounded from behind him.

"Landon."

Landon's tall figure paused, took a deep breath, and slowly turned to face him.

The lighting in the underground parking lot was dim.

But it was enough for Adrian to see the redness and glistening at the corner of Landon's eyes, which he tried hard to hide, but still showed a trace of vulnerability.

Unconsciously, it stirred up intense ripples in Adrian's previously calm heart.

Landon didn't know that at this moment, the trace of fragile pain on his stern face appeared incredibly sexy and alluring to Adrian.

"Is there something you need?" Landon composed himself, his deep eyes gazing at him.

Adrian's narrow eyes squinted slightly as he stepped closer to him.

Their eyes met, and they could hear each other's breathing.

Suddenly, Adrian raised his well-defined hand, his fingertips gently brushing against the reddened corner of Landon's eye.

Landon's heart trembled heavily, and his breathing became rapid.

"I know you care about Evelyn. I completely understand your feelings."

Adrian's delicate lips moved close to his ear, his voice seductive and captivating, "But promise me, don't do anything foolish. Don't make her worry about you. And don't make me worry about you."

Landon felt an indescribable emotion spreading in his heart, and the tips of his ears quickly turned warm.

"I know you're busy, so I won't hitch a ride with you."

Adrian straightened up, putting on a playful smile again, "It seems I won't be able to go back for a while. Maybe I should buy a car later for convenience. Do you know anyone who can give me a discount on a car?"

Before he finished speaking, Landon took a deep breath and grabbed his wrist tightly.

Adrian's pupils contracted, and his heart pounded like a drum.

"I can spare some time to take you."

Landon pressed his lips together, slowly pulling him towards his heaving chest, "When we get back to Oasis Villa, you can pick any car in the underground garage."

For two whole days, Edward hadn't eaten anything, only drank some water, and spent the rest of the time in a daze.

Bart stayed by his side, praying every night by the window for his recovery.

He wished he could be the one suffering instead and couldn't bear to see Edward in pain.

Without Evelyn, Edward's life was unbearable, filled with suffering.

"Bart, how is Edward now?"

Eric called to check on him, very worried, "Is he awake? I'll come over to see him now."

"Eric, don't bother. Mr. Wellington has taken his medicine and is asleep." Bart replied sullenly.

"Is it medicine for his illness or a sleeping pill? Edward sleeps endlessly after taking it. We should go to the hospital. I'll arrange it and ensure complete confidentiality!"

"There's no need, Mr. Clark. Even Ms. Taylor, the so-called White God, couldn't do anything about Mr. Wellington's illness. What can other doctors do?"

Bart looked back at the unconscious Edward, feeling very distressed, "I don't even know if taking this medicine is meaningful."

"What do you mean?"

"The side effects are too severe. Although Mr. Wellington stops trembling after taking the medicine, he frequently vomits and feels drowsy. It seems like he's just trading one kind of pain for another. If he keeps taking it, I'm afraid he'll be completely ruined!"

If he keeps taking it, I'm afraid he'll be completely ruined!"

Eric was stunned, speechless for a moment.

"Mr. Wellington has sacrificed so much for Ms. Taylor. Everything he's become today is because of her. Why can't Ms. Taylor give Mr. Wellington a chance?" Bart was anxious and spoke without thinking.

"Bart, don't say that."

Eric paused, letting out a faint sigh, "Evelyn has never wronged him. Now, let Edward atone for his sins. After all, you were with Edward every day during their three-year marriage, and you saw everything. What Evelyn lost in those three years is worth Edward spending a lifetime to repay."

Bart felt a pang in his heart, recalling the once pitiful and helpless Evelyn, who remained devoted to Edward despite everything.

He couldn't help but shed silent tears.

Edward had suffered greatly, but Evelyn's pain was no less excruciating.

Bart was afraid Edward would wake up at night and not find anyone, so he didn't even change his clothes and spent the night on the sofa in the bedroom.

The next morning, he was awakened by his biological clock and instinctively looked towards Edward.

The bed was empty, and Edward was gone!

"Mr. Wellington, Mr. Wellington?"

Bart panicked and started searching the house for Edward.

At that moment, the bathroom door opened.

Edward walked out, impeccably dressed in a three-piece suit, with his watch, tie, and tie pin all in place.

His strong, stern aura was back, with no sign of illness, almost making Bart forget how weak he had been the night before.

"Is there something wrong with my face?" Edward raised his hand to adjust his cuff, his voice slightly hoarse.

His breath was still a bit unsteady, but it was not easily noticeable.

"Mr. Wellington, why are you up? You need more rest!" Bart was very concerned about his health.

"I have an important strategic meeting at the company today. I must attend." Edward lowered his eyes, his expression unchanged.

"I can't believe I forgot!"

Bart slapped his forehead, then tried to persuade him, "Mr. Wellington, you're still sick. I think you should skip today's meeting. Don't push yourself!"

Edward's pale, handsome face remained indifferent, and he raised his hand to signal Bart to be quiet.

"I'm fine. Prepare the car."

At exactly ten o'clock in the morning, a black Rolls-Royce appeared in front of the Wellington Group building.

The eye-catching license plate KST 9999 immediately drew everyone's attention.

"9999! That's so rare!" People on the street started talking.

"I remember this license plate was auctioned off for millions of dollars. It even made the news!"

"A license plate worth millions of dollars? My imagination is limited by my poverty!"

"I'm curious, who is the owner of this car?"

"Do you even need to ask? It's someone beyond our reach!"

Inside the luxury car, Landon sat upright, his long lashes lowered as he looked at the open Bible on his lap, holding a cross, muttering prayers.

After finishing his prayer.

He slowly closed the Bible and said, "Amen."

When he looked up again, his eyes were bloodshot, like a demon finally seeing the light of day after being shackled for years.
