Chapter 575 I Want to Marry Her

Eric tiptoed into the room, careful not to wake the person sleeping on the bed.

In the dim light, Molly's petite frame was curled up under the covers, her long, dark brown hair spread across the pillow, her face serene in slumber. He sat on the edge of the bed, gently brushing aside the strands of hair from her cheek, his gaze tender.

Eyes that once wandered now only had room for Molly.

"I was gone for just a little while, and so much happened."

Eric's fingertips caressed the girl's smooth cheek, emotions swirling within him. "It seems your charm is even greater than I imagined. I might never dare to take you out again. If that jerk wasn't Evelyn's brother, I'd have put him in a sack and beaten him up!"

He unintentionally applied more pressure, causing Molly's lashes to flutter and a soft whimper to escape her lips. Eric quickly withdrew his hand, startled.

At that moment, Molly turned over, kicking off the covers, revealing her body clad in a silk camisole. The nightgown was disheveled from her sleep, exposing her fair shoulders and delicate curves.

Desire flared in Eric's eyes, his breath growing hot.

"Mmm... do you really... like my painting?" Molly's mumbled sleep talk reached his ears clearly.

'She wasn't asking me. Who is she asking?'

"Peter..."

The name was like a bucket of ice water, instantly extinguishing all of Eric's heat. His blood ran cold, his mind blank.

In the next second, his tall frame loomed over the girl, his lips capturing hers in a near-punishing kiss.

Molly woke with a start, initially frightened, but relaxed upon realizing it was Eric. She naturally wrapped her arms around his neck, responding gently to his roughness.

Whenever he wanted, she would give.

...

Much later, until she pleaded tearfully for mercy, Eric finally let her go.

"Molly, what did he do to you?" He still held her down, his eyes burning with possessiveness that nearly scorched her.

"Eric... did I do something wrong?" Molly sensed his anger but didn't understand, her eyes reddening with grievance.

Eric couldn't bear to see her like this, his heart aching as if being twisted by a knife. He instantly pulled her into a tight embrace, soothing her softly, "It's okay... you did nothing wrong. It was my fault. Sleep now."

The next morning, Eric came downstairs with bloodshot eyes, finding Evelyn and Edward already back from their morning run, preparing breakfast.

Edward was in the kitchen, frying eggs with an apron on, while Evelyn sat leisurely at the dining table, eating bread. The sweet atmosphere between them was palpable.

The scene made Eric, still stewing in his emotions, feel both envious and frustrated.

"Eric, what's up with you? Couldn't sleep last night?" Evelyn teased, noticing his haggard appearance.

"Don't even mention it." Eric sighed in frustration.

He couldn't very well complain about Evelyn's brother in front of her.

"Not hungry." Eric grabbed a bottle of cold water from the fridge, chugged it down, then crushed the empty bottle, taking a deep breath before announcing, "Evelyn, Edward, I'm getting a marriage license with Molly today."

Evelyn and Edward were both stunned. "What? Today?"

"Yes, today." Eric's eyes were intense. "I don't want to wait any longer. Once we're officially married, she'll be my rightful wife, Mrs. Wellington of the Clark Group! Even if Grandpa disagrees, it'll be too late. I'll give her a grand wedding later."

Edward turned off the stove, the eggs in the pan burning. "Eric, why are you suddenly so impulsive? Your documents are with Patrick. If you go ask him now, he'll definitely make things difficult for you."

"And what about your family?" Evelyn's expression was serious. "Will Maurice agree? If you act first and inform him later, aren't you afraid he'll revoke your position in anger? Or that someone might seize the opportunity to take over? Do you want Molly to be looked down upon in the Clark family forever?"

"Who dares to look down on her?" Eric growled, his eyes red.

"We're not questioning your love." Evelyn shook her head. "But the reality is, you can't have both the Clark Group and Molly right now. You either give up the power within your reach or stay calm and take it step by step. Don't lose your head."

She eyed him suspiciously. "What happened last night? Tell us, don't do something foolish."

Edward placed the cooked breakfast in front of Evelyn, who immediately pulled him close, planting a loud kiss on his cheek. "Reward."

Edward kissed her back.

Watching the scene, Eric felt deflated, slumping into a chair, his voice low and defeated.

"I have a rival."
