Chapter 374 Meeting That Woman

The atmosphere suddenly became subtle, even a bit tense.

Adrian's eyes widened, as if he had heard something that deeply hurt his pride, his face turning red with anger.

"Are you saying that I refused to treat Edward because I couldn't cure his illness? Is that what you mean?" Adrian asked through gritted teeth.

"Is there any other explanation?" Evelyn shrugged.

"Ridiculous!" Adrian slammed the table in frustration. "Have you been out of the country for too long? Don't you know that my reputation in Mythorica is even bigger than White God's? I've solved countless difficult cases in my consultations, and you dare to say my medical skills are lacking? That's too much!"

Evelyn smiled silently, quietly watching his angry demeanor.

Suddenly, Adrian seemed to realize something. He leaned back calmly, squinting his eyes and looking at her playfully. "I almost fell for your provocation. Your trick is effective, but I'm not such a shallow man who cares only about face. I won't fall for it."

"I originally thought you were a person with a broad perspective. Although you keep saying you won't treat plutocrats, you should know that Mr. Wellington is a well-respected figure among American entrepreneurs. From his time as a CEO to his current charitable work, the number of people he's helped through his foundation is countless. You should have heard of this.

"Even so, you still stick to your so-called principles. Doesn't that make you seem too rigid and inflexible?"

Evelyn was startled by her own words.

Even after being divorced for so long, she could still praise Edward so smoothly. She found it hard to believe herself.

But in fact, putting aside their emotional issues, Edward was indeed an excellent manager. As long as it wasn't about emotions, he was almost perfect.

Otherwise, Evelyn wouldn't have silently loved him for so many years without getting tired. After all, when a woman feels gratitude or admiration for a man, she can't help but fall for him. Evelyn had both feelings for Edward.

That's why she was infatuated for thirteen years.

"Ms. Taylor, no matter what you say, it's useless."

Adrian was somewhat moved but still refused to give in. "No matter what you say, I won't compromise. Just because you used your brother to kidnap me back from abroad, there's nothing to discuss between us. You have no basic respect for people, relying on your wealth and power.

"I'm booking a flight back immediately. If you try to stop me, I'll call the police!"

As Adrian was about to leave, Evelyn said softly, "Even White God couldn't solve the problem. I thought you were the only hope, but now it seems..."

"Who? Who did you say?" Adrian stopped abruptly, full of astonishment.

"White God."

"You said White God treated Edward? How could he be so senile!" Adrian couldn't help but sigh.

"Senile? Hey, don't insult people like that. White God isn't old at all!" Evelyn, who had been calm, couldn't hold back and slammed the table.

"That's a term of respect! White God is my idol!" Adrian mentioned White God with a face full of admiration. "Although I've never seen her in person, she's perfect in my heart."

Evelyn remained silent.

"And in our medical field, to achieve the medical accomplishments of White God and perform so many impressive surgeries, it would take at least thirty years! What's wrong with me calling her an elder?"

Evelyn touched her chin. 'Hmm, there's nothing wrong with that.'

"A man saved by White God, do you still doubt his character?" Evelyn asked with a calm smile, "By doing so, aren't you also questioning your idol's character?"

Although this was somewhat morally coercive.

But at this point, to deal with Adrian, she had to use any means necessary.

Adrian pursed his lips, pulled a chair, and slowly sat back down, deep in thought.

"Fine, for White God's sake, I'll reluctantly take a look."

Evelyn was overjoyed, but she only slightly curled her lips. "On behalf of White God, thank you."

Having finally returned to the country, Ulysses didn't rush back but couldn't stay idle. Just like when he was young, he slept at home during the day and eagerly went out as soon as it got dark.

Ulysses called Simon, Landon, and Evelyn out for drinks, but two of them refused, leaving only Simon, who couldn't resist his persistence, to be dragged along.

After all, Ulysses only seemed like a younger brother when he asked him out for drinks.

However, Simon secretly took liver protection pills and carried some hangover medicine, just in case he couldn't handle it.

When they arrived at the bar, they specifically chose a less conspicuous booth to avoid being too high-profile.

But with Ulysses and Simon's looks, it was hard to stay low-key.

So, they didn't drink much that night, constantly being approached by women asking for their numbers.

Simon was annoyed, but Ulysses found it amusing. He suggested that whoever got approached had to drink a shot, and they ended up neck and neck.

After a while, Ulysses patted Simon's shoulder and headed towards the crowded dance floor.

He was a bit tipsy and needed to sober up.

Simon looked at the crowded dance floor, feeling a bit stifled. Like Evelyn, he hated the smell of smoke, so he went outside for some fresh air.

Ulysses, with a cigarette in his mouth, danced closely with unfamiliar women.

He was an excellent dancer, but his moves were a bit suggestive. If he weren't so handsome, he would have looked like a thug.

Suddenly, Ulysses caught a whiff of a mesmerizing fragrance.

Already tipsy, the scent made him momentarily dazed and confused.

The next second, a woman suddenly bumped into his arms.

Instinctively, he wrapped his arm around her slender waist, their bodies pressed tightly together.

So fragrant, so soft.

Under the changing lights, Ulysses squinted his deep eyes and looked down at the person in his arms.

In an instant, he felt as if struck by lightning. His fingers around her waist tingled with a numbing sensation.

"Evelyn?"

No, that's not right.

She wasn't Evelyn. Evelyn didn't have a mole on her brow, and she never wore such sweet perfume.

Suddenly, Ulysses' pupils contracted, and his memory flashed back to when he was in Mythorica, and he exclaimed, "It's you?"

The woman he had met once in a foreign land and couldn't forget!

"Handsome, do you know me? But I don't know you."

Sarah, drunk and bleary-eyed, wrapped her arms around Ulysses' neck, her warm breath brushing against his Adam's apple. "But I like your direct approach."
