Chapter 485 Good News
After a busy day, it was already late at night when they returned to the villa.
As soon as they entered the house, before Evelyn could even change her shoes, Edward impatiently scooped her up and swiftly carried her upstairs.
"You, you put me down!" Evelyn exclaimed in surprise, her arms wrapped around Edward's neck.
Her slender legs dangled, and her red high heels slipped off her feet, tumbling down the stairs.
"No way."
Edward lowered his head and pecked her on the nose. She could clearly hear his trembling breath, his voice hoarse with desire, "Evelyn, let's see what excuse you have this time."
"Excuse, what excuse?" Evelyn's eyes sparkled, her cheeks flushed.
"My body has recovered, and I calculated you're not on your period today."
Edward's Adam's apple bobbed, his eyes reddened with restraint. "Let's see how you refuse me this time."
Evelyn recalled how they had been living like roommates lately, not making love even once.
Edward had hinted at it several times, but she had always stopped him, saying he wasn't fully recovered. Even on the plane, he had satisfied her with his hand, but he had held back himself, looking somewhat pitiful.
Soon, Evelyn found herself pressed onto the bed by Edward.
His breath was hot and heavy. Just as he was about to fiercely capture her soft lips, she blushed, her hands pressed against his trembling chest, her tone a mix of mild anger and shyness, her eyes moistening.
"You, you recovered just to make love to me? Is that all you want, Edward? I'm not just a tool for your release!"
Edward froze, the desire in his eyes instantly turning into endless affection. He kissed her forehead helplessly. "Evelyn, what are you talking about? I do want to make love, but only with you."Evelyn's throat felt tight, and she bit her lip.
"We've been through so much to be together again. Do you know how much I cherish this relationship, how much I cherish you? I wish I could split a day into several parts just to spend more time with you. Even twenty-four hours a day doesn't feel enough."
Edward sighed deeply, his heart filled with bittersweet emotions. "I want to be good to you, but I don't know how to make you feel satisfied and happy."
"So, I hope that every day we spend together for the rest of our lives feels like we're in the honeymoon phase. I hope that decades from now, I'll still have the strength to hold you, to kiss you."
Evelyn silently gazed at him, her eyes reddening, tears welling up.
"Evelyn, are you crying?"
Edward, unsure of what he had said wrong, was at a loss and could only keep apologizing, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Evelyn, I won't touch you, I won't..."
Before he could finish, Evelyn's arms wrapped around his neck, her tearful lips sealing his.
Edward felt like he was floating on a soft cloud. At first, he could restrain himself, but as Evelyn's fierce kisses deepened, his mind went blank, and he lost control, pressing heavily against her, his burning hands tearing apart her tight little black dress.
Evelyn had initially taken the lead, but in the end, she succumbed to his madness.
She felt as if she were engulfed in the flames of desire, her whole body ignited, the fire spreading, turning her world upside down.
Her waist ached, but her heart felt sweet.
Entwined until the early hours, they slept in each other's arms until the sun was high in the sky.
Edward woke up first. Seeing Evelyn still asleep on his arm, he didn't dare move, even though his arm was numb, and just watched her sleeping face intently.
After about half an hour, Evelyn stretched and woke up.
Edward held her in bed for a while longer, but she couldn't stand the sticky feeling of sweat on her body and insisted on taking a shower.
As a result, Edward carried her to the shower, taking advantage of her again, almost making her slip in the bathroom out of frustration.
After the shower, they stood side by side at the sink, brushing their teeth while looking in the mirror.
At that moment, Evelyn's phone rang.
With a toothbrush in her mouth, she answered the call, "Percy, how was your trip abroad? Did you have a good time?"
Edward knew Percy. He was well aware of what Percy had done for Evelyn. He paused, listening intently to their conversation.
"The scenery was beautiful, and the food was great. Thank you, Ms. Taylor, for the trip. But I'm back in Mugden now," Percy said warmly.
"You're back? Why?" Evelyn asked in surprise.
"I couldn't stop worrying about you. I couldn't find peace while I was away."
Edward's expression darkened, and he let out a cold laugh, biting his toothbrush.
Evelyn glanced at him and continued, "Where are you staying now? Let me arrange a safe place for you."
"No need to trouble yourself, Ms. Taylor. I'm safe now."
Percy lowered his voice. "I came back because I estimate that Tiffany's medication should be running out."
"Oh?" Evelyn raised an eyebrow.
"Without the medication, she should contact me again. I'll increase the dosage this time. After this, I think her body will be completely drained, and self-destruction won't be far off."
"Thank you, Percy."
Evelyn took a deep breath, her eyes sharp. "Just wait a little longer. The dawn of victory is near."
At that moment, Edward's phone rang too. It was Bart calling.
He rinsed his mouth, answering the call with a hint of inexplicable resentment.
"What is it?"
"Mr. Wellington! Good news! Lloyd wants to meet you and Mrs. Wellington!"
