Chapter 461 Completely Unconscious

The terrain of the South Island was complex, and with dense forests, it was easy to get lost if you were not careful.

Evelyn's delicate skin was scratched and bleeding from the branches, but she didn't care; she was determined to catch Lloyd!

Suddenly, she tripped over something, as if she had triggered a mechanism.

Her heart tightened, and she reacted immediately, leaping away with agility!

Just as her feet left the ground, a mechanism buried deep underground burst forth, forming a terrifying iron cage in mid-air!

Evelyn stared at the cage suspended in the air, gasping for breath, her beautiful face covered in cold sweat.

If she had been a second slower, she would have been trapped inside like an animal, at the mercy of others!

At that moment, a sinister laugh echoed from the darkness.

"Lloyd! Get out here!"

Evelyn had trained with Landon and Ulysses since she was young, and her hearing was excellent.

She instantly identified the direction of the voice, gripped her gun, and fired at the shadow lurking in the dark.

Evelyn was drenched in sweat, her shoulders trembling slightly.

The intense firefight had made her unaware that she had run out of bullets!

She quickly reached for her back, only to find that her spare magazine was also missing!

Evelyn panicked, scanning the area and spotting the magazine just a few steps away, dropped accidentally when she had rolled to avoid the trap earlier.

Just as she was about to retrieve it, two bullets hit the ground at her feet, forcing her to stay still!

"Ms. Taylor, I've experienced your skills before; you truly are a remarkable woman."

With a sinister smile, Lloyd slowly emerged from the darkness, holding a delicate crossbow with a gleaming arrowhead aimed at Evelyn. "This cage, from small rabbits to large wolves, no one has ever escaped it."

"My admiration for you has grown; you're beautiful, wealthy, and skilled. No wonder a proud man like Edward would fall for you."

"Cut the crap!" Evelyn's expression was stern, hiding her immense fear behind her cold, sharp eyes. "Lloyd, you have only one option now: come back to Mugden with me, testify against Tiffany, and face legal judgment! Otherwise, tonight will be your death!"

"Ms. Taylor, why are you as stubborn as Edward? Or do you big tycoons think so highly of yourselves, thinking I wouldn't dare kill you?" Lloyd laughed arrogantly.

"If you dare touch me, believe it or not, the Taylor family will flatten this entire South Island!" Evelyn gritted her teeth, enunciating each word with overwhelming momentum.

Lloyd fell silent.

"Today, if you shoot me, my brothers will make sure you're riddled with bullets and left to rot in the wilderness! Do you want to try?"

Evelyn's resolute threat made Lloyd hesitate.

Evelyn was different from Edward, the illegitimate child; she wasn't bluffing. The Taylor family sons were not to be trifled with, and even Charlie commanded respect from royalty.

As Lloyd was momentarily distracted, Evelyn lunged forward, grabbed the magazine, and swiftly reloaded, her movements fluid and impressive!

Lloyd was startled and instinctively shot an arrow at Evelyn's chest!

Evelyn froze, like a rabbit caught by a hunter, unable to run or fire her gun in time!

She closed her eyes in terror, her blood freezing.

But in an instant, a strong, powerful embrace enveloped her, shielding her from the arrow.

Evelyn opened her eyes in shock, meeting Edward's pale, wet face.

His bloodshot eyes gazed at her with unwavering affection, even a hint of tender indulgence.

"Evelyn, are you okay?"

Evelyn stared at him blankly, tears streaming down like broken pearls.

"Don't cry, I'm fine, I'm fine." Edward gently stroked her trembling back, whispering comfort.

The next second, Edward, already exhausted, collapsed heavily onto her, falling into a deep coma.

"Edward, Edward!"

Evelyn held him tightly, crying his name into his ear.

But Edward, who always responded to her, could no longer give her any reply.

"Evelyn! Edward!"

"Evelyn! I'm here! Evelyn!"

"Edward! I'm here!"

At that moment, Landon, Ulysses, and Eric finally joined them.

Landon fired two shots, one shattering Lloyd's kneecap, the other hitting his arm, causing him to drop the crossbow and scream in pain.

Despite this, Lloyd refused to give up, crawling to grab his weapon, attempting to fight back!

Ulysses, quick as lightning, appeared before him.

With a fierce look, he stomped on Lloyd's hand and twisted his heel viciously!

The scream pierced the night, and the sound of bones breaking was chilling.

Lloyd's evil hand was completely crippled.

Their men arrived one after another, capturing Lloyd alive. Some of his accomplices were dead, some injured, and the rest were all arrested. Their base on the South Island was completely wiped out.

Moreover, the Clark Group found many highly dangerous weapons there.

Eric wanted to take all the weapons back to Mugden, but he didn't have a big enough ship, and the priority was to get Edward to the hospital as quickly as possible!

Every second of delay increased the danger to his life!

"Edward, wake up, wake up!"

Evelyn held Edward's hand tightly on the way to the helicopter, her hair disheveled, eyes bloodshot, tears streaming continuously, sobbing uncontrollably, making Landon and Ulysses feel deeply saddened.

Only then did she realize that Edward had been shot in the left shoulder.

He had already lost a lot of blood, yet he stood like a sword before the criminals, refusing to yield or show any weakness.

He even caught her when she jumped from the helicopter, willing to exhaust his last drop of blood to protect her.

How could she be so foolish, so willful?

There was only one Edward in this world.

How could she not cherish him?

"Evelyn."

Landon and Ulysses stood behind Evelyn, watching her cry in grief, not knowing how to comfort her.

Eric's face was also full of anxiety.

Usually, he was playful, but now he couldn't smile at all, his fists clenched, his heart trembling with worry.

After Edward was carried onto the helicopter, Eric personally escorted him, leaving South Island ahead of them to find the best hospital in Torontow for emergency treatment.

Evelyn covered her face with her hands, suppressing her sobs, but tears still flowed through her fingers.

"Evelyn." Landon walked over and hugged her. She buried her head in Landon's chest, gradually letting go of her tears. "Edward will be fine. The gods will protect those who are kind, brave, and born for love."

"Will they?" Evelyn sobbed, her throat choked with emotion.

"They will, they will."

Landon closed his eyes, silently praying for Edward.

He wished for Edward to survive this ordeal, to reunite with Evelyn, and to spend the rest of their lives together.

If possible, he was willing to trade his own life for their safety, happiness, and fulfillment.
