Chapter 488 Attending the Horse Racing Event

Every year, Mugden would host a nationally renowned horse race.

People from major wealthy and powerful families gathered at the racecourse. On the surface, it appeared harmonious, but underneath, there were hidden tensions and rivalries.

At the same time, it was also a rare opportunity for the elite to network.

Many nationally significant projects in Mugden and throughout Estoria were signed on the spot at the horse race. Therefore, many people were desperate to get a ticket to the race, hoping to climb the social ladder and achieve great success.

Since the day Patrick forbade Debra from attending, she developed several painful sores in her mouth, making it impossible for her to eat. She even woke up from her sleep in anger!

She couldn't understand why Patrick would punish her just for scolding a few servants and then turn around and favor Molly!

She had done similar things at home before, and he had never reprimanded her for it.

Was it because Tiffany fell out of favor that she also had to suffer?

Now, she could only silently pray that Eric was also a heartless person who would use Molly and then discard her.

When that time came, she would spread the word in their circle, telling everyone that Molly was a woman abandoned by Eric!

Let's see who would dare to marry Molly then! She wanted to ruin her reputation!

Just as she was indulging in these thoughts, there was a knock on the door.

"Miss Wellington, Mrs. Wellington requests your presence."

Debra, with an unpleasant expression, went to see Tiffany.

"Mom, I'm here."

As soon as she entered, she smelled a strange, unpleasant odor.

"Mom, what are you doing? What's that smell?"

Debra frowned and pinched her nose as she walked towards the bedroom.

Pushing open the slightly ajar door, she was suddenly stunned.

She saw Tiffany in wrinkled pajamas, with disheveled hair, kneeling on the floor, frantically scrubbing a yellowish stain with a towel.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Debra's pupils contracted sharply!

Tiffany only then noticed her, blushing in surprise, and sternly scolded, "Who let you come in like this? Don't you have hands? Can't you knock?"

"Mom, you asked me to come see you."

Debra looked at the stain and suddenly realized, covering her mouth in shock, "Mom! Did you..."

Before she could say the word "incontinent," Tiffany interrupted her loudly, "Shut up! Don't say anything you shouldn't, do you hear me?"

Debra nodded frantically!

She wouldn't dare say anything. If word got out, Tiffany would become the laughingstock of all Mugden! She would be embarrassed too!

Tiffany threw the dirty towel into the trash can and ran to the bathroom to wash her hands repeatedly.

No matter how much she washed, she could still smell the disgusting odor.

"Mom, you can't use that medicine anymore!"

Debra followed her, eyes full of anxiety. "Using that medicine is no different from taking drugs! Percy is harming you! Look at what you've become! If this continues, your body will collapse!"

"You worked so hard to gain Dad's favor and strategized for so many years to stand on equal footing with Edward. If your body is ruined, all your efforts will be in vain!"

Debra rarely said anything sensible, but it was clear she was genuinely worried.

Tiffany closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I know, I want to quit, but I can't! Without that stuff, I'm better off dead!"Even though Debra had never touched that stuff, she could understand the pain of withdrawal from Tiffany's twisted expression.

"Lloyd, did you take care of it?" Tiffany suddenly asked coldly.

Debra's heart skipped a beat, and she replied softly, "I've arranged for someone to do it, but I haven't received any news yet. It seems they haven't succeeded yet."

"Useless! You're all useless!" Tiffany's eyes widened in anger.

"Mom, it's a prison. It's already good that I found someone willing to risk their life for you. Inside, he's limited in what he can do, unlike outside. So, please wait a bit longer; there should be results soon."

"Wait? How can I wait! As long as Lloyd is alive, I can't eat or sleep in peace!"

Tiffany paced anxiously. "Evelyn and Edward must have seen him, and they're definitely trying to get him to testify against me!"

"If I don't kill him soon, it's only a matter of time before he exposes me!"

Debra understood the stakes, but she really had no better solution.

So she could only hold onto a sliver of hope. "Mom, don't worry. If Lloyd wanted to expose you, he would have done it already. Why wait until now? I think he hates Edward and Evelyn more than you!""Before working for you, he had killed countless people, and he got away with it. He probably never dreamed that he would fall into the hands of Evelyn and Edward, so he hasn't ratted you out."

Tiffany nodded slowly, finding some logic in her words.

Suddenly, a knock on the door startled both Tiffany and Debra!

"Who is it?" Tiffany asked from the living room, through the door.

"It's me, Mrs. Wellington." Carl's indifferent voice came through.

Tiffany's eyes darkened as she opened the door a crack, coldly peering at Carl standing at the door.

Carl respectfully said, "Mrs. Wellington, Mr. Wellington asked me to inform you that he would like you to accompany him to this weekend's horse race."

"Patrick wants me to go with him? He's not confining me anymore?" Tiffany opened the door wide, her voice trembling with excitement.

"The annual horse race is always attended by you and Mr. Wellington. This year is no exception."

"Okay, okay! I'll definitely go!"

Closing the door, Tiffany was overjoyed, almost in tears.

After being under house arrest for a month, she was finally going to see the light of day. Did this mean Patrick was no longer angry with her? Was their relationship improving?

But Tiffany remembered her current embarrassing situation of incontinence without the medication, and she didn't know when it would happen. She couldn't control it.

If she had an accident at the horse race, she would not only ruin her reputation but also make Patrick completely despise her.

But if she didn't go, it would be disrespectful to Patrick, making things even worse.
