Chapter 362 Infiltration
Kimberly sat on the living room sofa, taking a while to dispel the chill from her body.
"Mrs. Wellington, no, Ms. Taylor. Thank you for always taking care of Miss Wellington."
Kimberly spoke softly, but her gaze was unwavering. "I saw how well you treated Miss Wellington when you were at Riverside Villa. For Miss Wellington's sake, I'm willing to do whatever you ask of me."
Evelyn looked deeply into Kimberly's clear eyes, which were just like Molly's, and suddenly felt a heaviness in her heart.
She wasn't sure if this decision was the right one, but she needed to place someone reliable and trusted by Tiffany's side. Apart from May, she had no one else she could trust.
After some investigation, she chose Kimberly.
William pressed his lips together. He knew Evelyn wanted Kimberly to be a spy and gather information about Tiffany.
"Kimberly, I need you to gain Tiffany's trust and stay close to her. If possible, I want you to install a listening device in her room."
Evelyn's eyes darkened as she spoke bluntly, "In the coming days, I need to know Tiffany's every move."
Kimberly was momentarily stunned, clutching the hand warmer tightly, remaining silent for a long time.
"Kimberly, I know this task is difficult for you. After all, Tiffany is Molly's mother and the matriarch of the Wellington family. This matter indeed carries risks."
"Alright, I agree." After a brief silence, Kimberly slowly raised her eyes, her gaze resolute and determined. "I will do whatever you ask of me.
"Over the years, I've seen clearly how Miss Wellington has endured. In Tiffany's eyes, she only has one daughter, Debra. The treatment Miss Wellington receives at home is no better than that of us servants.
"Only when Mr. Patrick Wellington and Mr. Edward Wellington are home does Miss Wellington receive the treatment she deserves."
Evelyn's eyes reddened, and William felt a pang of sadness as he listened.
"I like Miss Wellington, but I can distinguish clearly. Tiffany is Tiffany, Debra is Debra, and Miss Wellington is Miss Wellington. I won't tolerate their misdeeds just because they are related to Miss Wellington."
Kimberly's eyes were already brimming with tears. "If it weren't for Mr. Clark, I don't know who else could truly help Miss Wellington escape her misery. Mr. Clark is genuinely good to Miss Wellington."
Evelyn thought of Eric and Molly holding hands, their eyes filled with happiness. She felt moved and envious.
Molly had found her safe harbor of happiness.
But where was her own happiness?
"Ms. Taylor, you have also been very good to Miss Wellington, so no matter what, I will help you."
Evelyn tightly held Kimberly's hand. "Kimberly, thank you. But you must be careful and not push yourself. If you encounter danger, contact me immediately.
"The plan can be delayed or abandoned, but you must not come to any harm. Do you understand?"
Kimberly held back her tears and nodded firmly.
Kimberly had come a long way and was still hungry. Evelyn personally cooked pasta for her and prepared dishes made by Joyce. It was simple but heartfelt.
Kimberly devoured the food, clearly starving.
"Is it good?" Evelyn asked with a smile, resting her chin on her hand.
"Yes! It's delicious! So good!"
Kimberly wiped her mouth with satisfaction. "Ms. Taylor, your cooking is amazing! Mr. Wellington is so lucky to have married you!"
William remained silent.
Evelyn's beautiful eyes still curved with a smile, but her tone carried a hint of mockery. "It's just a pity that he doesn't appreciate his luck."
Debra had been beaten black and blue by Eric's people. She didn't dare go home, didn't want to trouble Tiffany, and didn't dare tell Patrick.
She could only secretly fly to Lisbon alone, to heal and get some facial repairs done.
Ellen was Eric's person; she wouldn't have dared to do this without Eric's orders.
If she dared to go back and complain, publicizing the matter would not only disgrace herself and the Wellington family but might also provoke even more terrifying retaliation from Eric!
The pain of being beaten and sharing a room with rats was something she never wanted to experience again in her life.
But this grudge, if she didn't avenge it, she would wake up crying from her dreams!
After her facial repair surgery in Lisbon, Debra's head was wrapped in bandages like a cotton swab, and she sneaked back to Mugden.
As soon as she got into the car, she received a call from Jessica.
"Where have you been? Why haven't you been answering your phone?" Jessica still spoke in her commanding tone.
"Jessica, you better show some respect when you talk to me. I'm the daughter of the Wellington family, not your servant!" Debra angrily retorted, holding her still-painful face.
"You humiliated me in front of Edward last time, and I haven't even settled that score with you. Now you're getting angry with me."
Jessica laughed playfully. "Alright, I won't argue with you. Tomorrow I'll send someone to pick you up. You can accompany me to try on engagement dresses."
"Engagement? What engagement?"
"Of course, my engagement to Edward!"
"What?" Debra was shocked. "Edward would never get engaged to you! Unless he's lost his mind!"
"Edward hasn't agreed yet, but it's only a matter of time."
Jessica's tone was full of confident arrogance. "Just wait and see. He'll soon bow to me. I'll be marrying Edward very soon."
