Chapter 324 Confessing Feelings

At that moment, Jessica stood beside Sophia, looking like a real princess.

The pitiful sight of her crying and apologizing in front of Eric was nowhere to be seen. She glared at Molly with a sinister look as if she wanted to pounce and tear her throat out.

Jessica said, "Mom, let me introduce you."

Jessica stared at Molly with a forced smile, "This is Molly, the daughter of the Wellington family, whom I mentioned to you before. She was my middle school classmate. Now she has become my brother's girlfriend. Isn't it a coincidence? Isn't it like keeping it in the family?"

Molly's face turned red when she heard "girlfriend," and she shyly lowered her head.

Her inferiority made her instinctively want to pull her hand away from Eric's warm grasp.

But Eric seemed to hear her thoughts and refused to let go.

"Jessica, have you said enough?" Eric's eyes darkened, his voice tinged with anger.

Jessica, emboldened by Sophia's support, laughed recklessly, "Eric, what did I say wrong? Why are you so angry? Or is it that you only dare to keep Molly outside and pamper her, but don't dare to bring her home to meet Mom? Because you also despise her for being sick, and you know she doesn't deserve to be your wife, right?"

"Jessica, shut up!" Eric couldn't stand anyone humiliating Molly and his eyes turned red with rage!

Ellen was standing behind them and clenched her fists tightly.

Jessica clicked her tongue and laughed, "Eric, look at how angry you are. If I hadn't hit a sore spot, would you be this angry?"

Eric retorted impatiently, "I don't have time to talk to you."

Eric couldn't shout at Jessica in front of Sophia, so he could only suppress his anger and said in a low voice, "Molly, Ellen, let's go."

"Wait." At that moment, Sophia, with a frosty expression, suddenly spoke.

Eric paused, clenched his fists, and felt his palms drenched in cold sweat.

Sophia said nothing and smiled faintly as she walked up to them.

It was this smile that made Eric momentarily lower his guard.

Unexpectedly, just as she reached Molly, Sophia's eyes turned fierce, and she suddenly raised her hand.

Molly's head turned to the side, her cheek burning with pain, and tears of grievance filled her eyes.

Eric shouted, "Mom! What are you doing?"

Eric stared at Sophia with overwhelming anger threatening to drown his reason!

Ellen bit her lip in frustration, but as a mere subordinate in the Clark Group, she didn't dare to act out in front of Sophia.

Sophia sneered, "Do you think you deserve to be with Eric?"

Sophia ignored Eric's anger and coldly stared at the silently crying Molly, "Don't think that just because you're the daughter of the Wellington family, I will tolerate you dating Eric. I wasn't even satisfied with your sister Debra, so how could I possibly let you, a mentally unstable woman, marry into our family? You'd better give up on that idea!"

Eric shouted, "Mom! I won't let you hurt Molly like this, I won't let you say another word!"

Eric directly shielded Molly, his eyes filled with resentment and anger, his fists clenched tightly as if ready to fight to the death, "If you still want me to acknowledge you as my mother!"

Jessica covered her mouth in astonishment.

She had thought that bringing Sophia out was the final trump card. Everyone in Mugden knew that Eric listened to Sophia the most.

Unexpectedly, for Molly, Eric was actually going to turn against Sophia! How could this be?

"Eric, are you really going to disown me as your mother for this imbecile?" Sophia's chest heaved violently, her eyes filled with pain.

Eric retorted, "Molly is not an imbecile, Molly is the one I love!"

Eric took a step closer to Sophia, his restrained voice trembling, yet unable to hide the passionate emotion, "I love Molly, and I don't want any other woman but her. If you insult her again and touch her again, then you don't want me as your son anymore."

Sophia said in anger, "Eric! Are you crazy? For this woman, just for this woman? You're willing to disown your own mother?"

Sophia was almost faint with anger and was unable to say anything else.

Her always obedient son, how could he, in just a few days, be willing to disown her for this foolish girl?

Jessica said, "Eric! You know Mom's health isn't good, how can you make her so angry!"

Jessica supported Sophia, changing her tune, "How many women have you dated since you were young? You're arguing with Mom over Molly now, but it's just because the novelty hasn't worn off yet! When you're done playing, and you think back to what you said to Mom today, and if you make Mom sick with anger, you'll regret it for the rest of your life!"

Molly, who had been standing humbly behind Eric holding a teddy bear, felt a sharp pain in her heart upon hearing these words. She trembled and took a step back.

Her long, slender eyelashes fluttered as she looked at Eric's broad shoulders and strong, handsome back.

Eric gave her a sense of security, but she didn't know why she felt very uneasy, confused, and scared.

Eric pleaded, "Mom, from childhood to now, I've never asked you for anything, never made any demands. And you and Jessica, whatever you wanted me to do, whatever you wanted, I unconditionally fulfilled and helped you achieve."

Eric's hands were tightly clenched, his voice tense and hoarse. Heasked bitterly, "I've lived for twenty-eight years, I don't want anything, I just want Molly, can't you..."

Sophia shouted, "No."

Before he could finish, Sophia interrupted him with a furious roar, "Unless I'm dead, you can forget about being with her, you can forget about letting this imbecile into the Clark family!"

Eric's eyes turned bloodshot, "Mom!"

Sophia yelled, "I only have one son, you are the hope of the entire Clark Group! If you are with this kind of woman, how will I face your father after I die?"

Sophia was furious and struggled to keep her composure. "Tiffany is a greedy, shameless bitch. Debra even dared to plot against my Jessica! She can't be any good either, just pretending to be kind to deceive you!"

Jessica appeared worried on the surface, but inside she was laughing maniacally!

"Mrs. Clark, you previously said Molly was a fool. How could a fool deceive anyone? She's the one who gets deceived." Ellen couldn't stand it anymore and retorted lightly with an indifferent expression.

"Who do you think you are? Shut up!" Jessica pointed her sharp finger at Ellen.

She had long been annoyed by Ellen, who followed Eric around every day, and now was the perfect time to vent her frustration.

Eric retorted, "You don't need to tell me what kind of person Molly is."

Eric took a deep breath and didn't want to say more, "No matter what you say or do, it won't change my decision. I only want Molly."

After listening to his words, Sophia's blood pressure shot up again.

"Eric! Molly is missing!" Ellen exclaimed, quickly looking around for any sign of Molly.

"Molly, Molly?" Eric's face turned pale with shock, and he sprinted away without looking back.

"He's gone mad, Eric has completely lost it!" Sophia clutched her chest, struggling to breathe.

"Mom, the more this happens, the more we can't give up!" Jessica gritted her teeth and watched Eric's departing figure.

"He doesn't even care about me as his mother anymore, what else can we do?" Sophia's eyes were filled with disappointment.

Jessica suggested, "But what about Grandpa? Do you think Grandpa will accept Molly?"

Jessica's eyes darkened, her mind already scheming, "We just need to find an opportunity to show Grandpa that Molly is a complete fool. Grandpa will definitely intervene."

Sophia said, "Jessica, will this really work? Eric is so stubborn, even Maurice might..."

Jessica's tone was firm and cold, "It will. Eric has come this far to gain Grandpa's approval, to bring honor to his father, and to take over the entire Clark Group. If he offends Grandpa, Grandpa will take everything back from him, and Neil will end up in control of the group. That would mean he has failed his father's expectations and the upbringing he received."

Eric notified the Clark Group's bodyguards, and everyone spread out to search for Molly.

Under the pitch-black night sky, crystalline snowflakes drifted down like falling flowers.

It should have been a beautiful snowy scene, but Eric had no heart to appreciate it, only worried about Molly's safety.

Finally, he found Molly sitting alone on a swing in the park.

Eric shouted, "Molly."

Eric looked at her delicate figure a few steps away. Her head was covered in snow and her red coat was dusted with white frost, making her look like a little snowman.

Eric's heart ached, his eyes reddening as he walked up to her.

"Molly, I finally found you."

Eric knelt on one knee in front of Molly, his large, warm hands covering her icy ones that were holding the teddy bear.

"How did you find me?" Molly asked in surprise, her wet eyes blinking.

He answered, "Molly, because we are connected. No matter where you go, I will find you."

Eric choked up and gently touched her reddened cheek, his heart aching. He said, "Don't ever think of running away again."

Molly lowered her long lashes, remaining silent.

Eric continued, "It's so cold sitting here, come on, let's go home."

Molly replied, "I want to stay at Grandpa's place, Eric."

Molly slowly withdrew her hand from his grasp, "I just called Tyler, Grandpa's assistant, and he's sending someone to pick me up."

"Molly, are you leaving me?" Eric's eyes widened, asking humbly.

Molly quickly shook her head and pouted, "I don't want to make things difficult for you, I don't want you to argue with your mom. Don't make her angry anymore, she's your mom, you should listen to her."

"But I only want to listen to you, Molly." Eric's eyes were full of tenderness as he brushed the snow off her shoulders.

He cupped her red cheeks with his cool hands, knowing her face must be hurting, hoping this would make it feel better.

"Eric, you should go home. Tyler will be here soon to pick me up." Molly felt reluctant but still urged him to leave.

Eric replied, "Molly, let me ask you one thing."

Eric's Adam's apple bobbed as he smiled at her, his eyes red and filled with tears. He asked, "Do you love me?"

Molly looked up, her pupils trembling slightly. Her pale pink lips moved slowly as if she had lost her voice, unable to speak for a long time.

Eric's heart ached with bitterness.

What was he thinking? Didn't he say it was enough for him to love her?

Eric, you love an extraordinary girl, you shouldn't be pressuring her like this.

"Eric."

Molly called him softly, then slowly raised her hands, gently and cautiously placing them on Eric's broad hands.

"I love you, Eric."

In my heart, you were planted long ago.

Maybe it was when you first kissed me.

Maybe it was when you hid in your room, secretly drawing my portrait.

Maybe it was when you stood by my side, ignoring the world's judgment.

I don't know what love was, but I thought, my feelings for you, this must be love.

Eric was overwhelmed with emotion, tears welling up in his eyes, his heart pounding in his chest.

In the wind and snow, they embraced deeply.

Eric wrapped her trembling body in his coat, but it still didn't feel like enough.

He wanted to wrap her in his heart.
