Chapter 252 Going Home

Ada's wedding wrapped up with everyone singing her praises.

Evelyn totally hit the jackpot this time. She turned KS WORLD, a sinking hotel, into a booming success in under a year.

In just six months, she not only nailed all the tasks Charlie threw at her but went above and beyond.

First thing on the list? Head back to Hameen and grab her reward from Charlie!

That night, Evelyn picked up Jennifer from school and cruised in her top-of-the-line Rolls-Royce towards Hameen.

Evelyn and Jennifer were cracking up and having a blast in the car, super tight and happy.

"Evelyn, I can't believe you're the top jewelry designer, Alexa!" Jennifer squealed, her face lighting up with excitement, clapping her hands.

"Stop right there! I know what is coming. You're gonna say you admire me a ton." Evelyn scrunched her nose, "I've heard that a million times. Don't join the crowd. If you want some bling, just ask."

Jennifer's face turned a bit red, and she shook her head, "You're Alexa, only big-time celebs wear your stuff. You could give Nancy a piece of jewelry. I heard from Mom and Dad that Wade's about to become the President of Aurora Isle. The First Lady rocking your jewelry wouldn't hurt your rep, right?"

To the world, Alexa was a big deal, but to family, it was just a name.

Evelyn raised an eyebrow playfully and hugged Jennifer's slim waist, "You can brag at school now. Your sister is Alexa. They'll be lining up to be your friend."

Thinking about the rumors at school and Roy's constant jabs, Jennifer's eyes got a bit teary, but she forced a smile and pressed her lips together.

"I really miss Nancy." Evelyn and Jennifer snuggled up, their eyes sparkling, "I wonder if Wade's treating Nancy right."

"Probably no need for you to worry. Landon, Simon, Aaron, Ulysses, Peter, and Dad wouldn't let him off easy." Jennifer rattled off a list of names.

"Evelyn, where's William?" Jennifer had been looking for William since she got in the car and finally asked cautiously.

"He's been super tired lately, so I gave him a break." Evelyn said casually, showing no emotion.

The luxury car smoothly rolled into the gates of Oasis Villa.

As soon as Evelyn and Jennifer got out, they saw Brian and Isla walking towards them with Gordon, Jesse, and William, who had just parked their car.

Evelyn didn't know Charlie had also invited the Flynn family over tonight, but she quickly pulled herself together.

Gordon's face darkened as soon as he saw Evelyn.

William opened his mouth dryly and called out to Evelyn.

He took a small step forward but then, remembering what Evelyn had said to him that day, his desire to get closer shrank, and he stepped back.

Evelyn glanced at William casually, such a tall figure, standing there with slumped shoulders, biting his pale lips, looking like a lost puppy, really tugging at the heartstrings.

But she couldn't give him hope, because it would truly harm him.

"Ms. Taylor! Long time no see!" Brian and Isla greeted her politely.

"Uncle Brian, no need to be so formal. Just call me Evelyn like when I was a kid." Evelyn's expression was gentle, without a hint of arrogance.

"That was then. Now you're in the management of the group and William's boss. It's different." Brian said, knowing that Evelyn was now very famous and might be groomed by Charlie as his successor, so he had to be careful with his words.

Gordon sneered, feeling that Brian's subservient attitude was disgraceful.

'Does the Flynn family really have to bow down to the Taylor family forever?' Gordon thought.

Evelyn saw that Brian insisted on being formal, so she let it go.

Isla quietly observed Evelyn and Jennifer, thinking Evelyn had grown up to be so beautiful, no wonder William liked her.

Then, Isla turned her gaze to the quiet Jennifer.

"Hello, Mrs. Flynn!" Jennifer quickly greeted Isla politely as her heart raced and her face turned red.

"Hello." Isla said.

Jennifer's eyelashes fluttered as she secretly glanced at William.

But with just one look, her heart seemed to pause, and ached faintly.

William, his eyes were always on Evelyn.

No one understood the deep, passionate look in his eyes better than she did.

Because for the past seven years, she had been looking at him the same way from afar.
