Chapter 457 Leaking the Whereabouts

Gilbert continued, "They're not from this country, daring to cause trouble on your land and even planning to create a big mess. I think your royal family won't just sit by and do nothing; they will punish them."

"Instead of waiting for orders from above, why not take the initiative and help them out by rounding up these violent illegal immigrants?"

Sebastian's eyes darted around, clearly tempted.

"Moreover, although they are powerful here, they are isolated and helpless in Torontow. You could take advantage of the chaos to kill them and dump their bodies in the sea. No one would find out, right?"

Gilbert squinted slightly, "You're the expert at this kind of thing."

"You're so meticulous, considering everything! But if I help you, how will you thank me?"

"Money, land, whatever you want, just tell me."

"Right now, there's something I want."

As he spoke, Sebastian's greedy and lecherous eyes roamed over Sarah's voluptuous body.

The next second, Gilbert grabbed her arm and flung her towards him.

Caught off guard, Sarah let out a cry and fell onto Sebastian, who immediately held her in his arms, subjecting her to nauseating caresses.

Gilbert stood up slowly and left the room without looking back.

"Tonight, she's yours."

That night, Sebastian enjoyed fine wine and a beauty, leaving the Rose Club satisfied with the task Gilbert had assigned him.

Sarah lay on the bed, battered and bruised, like a discarded, broken yet beautiful toy.

Her beloved red dress lay in tatters on the floor, alongside those ugly and terrifying tools, silently mocking her humiliation and misery of the night.

At that moment, the door opened.

Familiar footsteps approached, and Gilbert stood by the bed, coldly eyeing her naked body.

"Who would've thought he had such a fetish, rivaling Calvin's?"

Through the disheveled hair scattered over her pale face, Sarah looked at Gilbert, whom she had loved for half her life, tears welling up in her eyes.

"You've had a tough night. Whatever you want, tell Curtis." Gilbert's expression was chillingly indifferent.

His passionate gaze was reserved only for Evelyn.

Other women were merely tools for his gain.

"I want my red dress." Sarah's lips trembled.

Gilbert's expression remained indifferent. "Alright, I'll have Curtis buy you one."

"That dress was a birthday gift from you two years ago."

Sarah choked up, unable to speak, clutching the sheets tightly as silent tears streamed down her delicate cheeks.

"Is that so?" Gilbert's eyes darkened, a dismissive smirk tugging at his lips, "Do you know why I gave you that red dress? Because Evelyn likes red. So, I like seeing you in red."Sarah felt a pervasive chill engulf her, her chest aching as if a knife had been driven into it. Her bleeding heart was being mercilessly torn apart by Gilbert, leaving it shattered.

She knew the answer would involve Evelyn, knew that asking would only bring humiliation.

But she couldn't help it; she wanted to ask, just one more time, as if she could get a different answer."Get some rest. And you know what you need to do next, right? You volunteered."

Gilbert turned to leave, but Sarah suddenly rolled off the bed, clutching his cold hand tightly.

"Gilbert, did you ever have any feelings for me? Gilbert?"

He turned to look at her, his gaze murky and devoid of light.

Tears streamed down Sarah's face as she cried, "Not even a little? After all these years, not even a bit?"

"Don't you think your question is ridiculous?" Gilbert forcefully shook off her hand, laughing derisively, "If I had known you were such a vulgar woman, I wouldn't have saved you back then."

Gilbert slammed the door as he left.

Sarah lay naked on the floor, crying her heart out, feeling more wretched than the torn dress on the ground.

The cold, driving rain on the island pelted Edward, making his steps difficult, but it couldn't stop him from moving forward.

Landon walked beside him, silently marveling at his speed.

No wonder he had attended military school and served as a special forces soldier. Years of a pampered life hadn't made him slack off or dulled his physique and will.

Whenever needed, he could don his armor and charge into battle.

Landon had to admit, besides himself, Edward might be the only man who could give Evelyn absolute security.

"What a pity," he sighed.

"What?" Despite his quick pace, Edward heard him.

Landon was about to speak when suddenly, a flash of light blinded him!

In the instant Edward tackled him to the ground, a burst of bullets swept through the spot where he had just been standing, leaving a row of terrifying bullet holes in the dirt!

Landon, though experienced in various intense situations, still broke out in a cold sweat!

A second later, and he would have been hit by the bullets. Edward had saved his life!

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Landon gasped, "Thanks."

"There are ambushes nearby. From now on, we can't afford any slack. Otherwise, Evelyn might lose two family members in one night!"

Edward's eyes were sharp as he scanned the surroundings vigilantly.

With the flashlight in his subordinate's hand providing some illumination, though not very clear, his exceptional vision and hearing allowed him to perceive the lurking dangers in the darkness!

"Mr. Wellington! Mr. Taylor! We're under attack! You need to..."

The subordinate running towards them was abruptly silenced.

A bullet pierced his chest, and he fell to the ground with wide eyes!

Immediately, a hail of bullets rained down, scattering everyone. In the pitch-black jungle, they fled in all directions, unable to protect Edward and Landon!

Edward and Landon took cover behind a massive rock, quickly drawing their guns to return fire.

Their marksmanship was excellent, taking down four assassins in quick succession.

But the situation remained dire!

"What's going on? Did Lloyd's people find us?"

Landon's brows furrowed as he reloaded his magazine, keeping an eye on the situation outside, "Our movements were supposed to be confidential. There's no way anyone could know!"

"But someone leaked our plans for tonight."

At that moment, another bullet whizzed past, barely missing Edward's ear!

Landon's heart tightened, but Edward remained calm, his cold, stern face exuding a chilling aura. He swiftly turned and fired two more shots, taking down another assassin!

No wonder Evelyn was so deeply in love with him.

"Who could it be?" Landon asked urgently.

"Besides Tiffany, there are others back home secretly in contact with Lloyd, trying to help him. And they want to eliminate us in the process."

For some reason, as he spoke, a name Edward didn't want to think of, Gilbert, inexplicably popped into his mind.
