Chapter 100 Ethan's Perplexity

Ethan sneered, "What a coincidence, it broke down right now?"

He knew it couldn't just be a coincidence.

"Get everyone together; I want a meeting!"

The butler nodded, "Yes, Mr. Ethan Yates."

The butler gathered all the servants in the hall. They lined up like it was a company staff meeting.

"You've all been with the Yates family for a long time. I'm going to ask some questions now. If anyone lies..."

Ethan paused, his eyes cold. "The two beasts in the Yates family's forbidden area haven't had meat in a while!"

Everyone held their breath, looking terrified.

The Yates family had two tigers in their forbidden area. Ethan hated deceit the most; anyone who lied would really be thrown in there.

"Who came to the Yates family today?"

A servant spoke up, "There were three groups: the Yeo family, the Lynch family, and... Ms. White from the White family."

"Did they upset my grandfather?"

The servants exchanged glances and shook their heads. "We didn't hear any arguments."

"By the way, Mr. Yeo wanted to take a walk in the yard while his parents and Mr. Michael Yates were talking. When someone wanted to follow him, he refused."

Ethan frowned slightly.

Mr. Yeo was actually an illegitimate child of the Yeo family. Before being recognized by his family, he had a criminal record and was of very poor character.

"But Mr. Yeo didn't say much to Mr. Michael Yates, just greeted him and left."

Ethan held his chin, thinking seriously.

Although Mr. Yeo had a criminal record, he had no motive to harm his grandparents.

Ethan said, "Continue, what else did you observe?"

"The Lynch family visited and brought a birthday gift for Mrs. Yates. They said a few words and then left."

Ethan's eyes dimmed. His grandmother's birthday was coming up, and he had already prepared a party. Who knew something like this would happen?

Suppressing his sadness, Ethan asked coldly, "They didn't stay long, so they didn't have a chance to harm my grandfather. What else? Tell me everything."

"Ms. White came to deliver some desserts. After Ivy ate her dessert, she felt sleepy and went upstairs to take a nap. Then we heard Ava shouting that Mrs. Yates had fallen down the stairs, and Mr. Michael Yates had a heart attack for some unknown reason..."

"But it was indeed Ms. White who called the police."

Ethan pondered, "Is there any cake left?"

His mom was unreliable, but she'd never go upstairs to sleep when there were guests. Something was definitely off!

The key was the cake that was delivered.

"Mr. Ethan Yates, there's still some cake left."

"Someone, take the cake to the hospital for urgent testing."

"Yes, sir!"

A servant took the cake Ava had delivered to the hospital for testing.

"Did any of you see or hear anything else? Speak up."

The servants all shook their heads.

"Alright, you can go."

The butler asked, "Mr. Ethan Yates, do you think there's something wrong with the dessert Ava brought?"

"Yes."

Ethan said, "The key now is that cake. If there's something wrong with it, then Ava tampered with it."

If that were the case, he wouldn't let Ava off easy!

Half an hour later.

Ethan was waiting at home for news, his expression cold.

The butler came in with the report. "Mr. Ethan Yates, the report is out. There are no harmful substances in the cake."

"What!"

If the cake was fine, did he misunderstand Ava?

Ethan thought it over and couldn't figure it out. "Are you sure there's no problem with this report?"

The butler said, "Mr. Ethan Yates, this is a report from the Yates family hospital. No one would dare to falsify it."

"Damn it!"

Ethan rubbed his temples in frustration.

Everything seemed to point to Ava, but there was no evidence to prove it.

At that moment, Ava's call came through.

Ethan's eyes darkened as he answered, "Hello."

"Ethan, shall we have dinner together?"

Ethan pressed his thin lips together, a glint flashing in his eyes, "Alright."

Ava thought he would refuse, but he agreed so quickly, which made her overjoyed.

"I'll send you the address. I'll be waiting for you; don't break your promise."

With that, Ava hung up and sent him the location.

"I'm going out for a bit. Make sure Ashley's dinner is prepared at the hospital. I'll take care of her later."

"Okay."

After such a big incident, Ethan finally had time to think about Ashley.

He arranged Ashley's dinner and then set off to meet Ava.

Ethan got back into the car, still unaware that his phone had fallen into a corner.

He had deep doubts in his mind.

Ivy fell asleep after eating the cake, which clearly indicated something was wrong with it. So why did the test show nothing?

To resolve this doubt, he planned to ask Ava in person.

Ava hung up the phone, smiling smugly. She dialed another number and said, "Mr. Todd, get ready. The patient will be there soon..."
