Chapter 578 Truly Crazy

The group moved to a nearby dining hall. After Yaakov had eaten, he explained Ashley's past to everyone.

Ashley was speechless with shock.

Ethan looked at her with admiration. "Darling, you're so talented—you can design, you know medicine. Is there anything else you can do that I don't know about?"

Ashley scratched the back of her head, clearly embarrassed. "If Yaakov hadn't told me all this, I wouldn't have known myself. And besides... now that I've lost my memory, is there any chance I could recreate Panacea again?"

"Ashley, you've only lost your memories of people. Your extraordinary talent remains intact," Yaakov assured her. "Last time when you were injured, you could recreate the true healing balm just by smelling the difference between two medicine bottles. That proves your talent hasn't diminished at all! I can give you our master's Panacea formula. I believe you can successfully recreate it."

Atticus had researched the effects of Panacea online. Those twenty-plus families were still grateful for her help. If Ashley could recreate Panacea, his father might be saved!

Atticus looked at Ashley with intense emotion. "Pearl, I can't thank you enough!"

"Atticus, there's no need for that!" Ashley said. "Mr. York Grayson is sick, and I consider him family. It's only right that I help. Although Yaakov sounds certain, I've lost my memory, so I can't guarantee I can fully recreate Panacea."

"Pearl, even if it doesn't work... as long as we try our best."

"Alright."

Yaakov said, "Your name is Atticus, right? You're really lucky to have Ashley treat your father for free!"

Atticus lowered his eyes.

He had feelings for Ashley, but knowing she was with Ethan, he kept those feelings hidden, not wanting to disturb their relationship. Now, learning that Ashley was the Evil Spirit, his feelings had evolved into reverence and admiration. Suddenly, he felt deeply inadequate, knowing he could never be worthy of her.

"Yaakov, you shouldn't say that," Ashley objected. "Years ago, when I fell into the sea, Atticus saved me. All these years, he's helped me raise my children. Now that he's in trouble, I'm helping him. That's mutual support and standing together through hardship."

Yaakov looked ashamed after being reprimanded. "Ashley, you're right. I was wrong."

Atticus was too grateful to Ashley to find words.

Ethan, who had been quiet, watched her with deep affection in his eyes.

"It's getting late," Ethan said. "We should go rest. We can start working on the medicine tomorrow."

Atticus nodded. "Alright."

Ethan looked tenderly at Ashley. "Shall we go?"

"Yes."

Ian pushed Ethan's wheelchair with Ashley walking beside them. "Yaakov, Atticus, we're heading back now. We've exchanged contact information, so call if anything comes up."

"Will do," Atticus replied.

Yaakov glanced at Ethan. "Ethan, could we talk privately?"

Ethan gave him a brief look, noticing his gaze falling on his heart. He had a good idea what this was about.

"Darling, why don't you and Ian wait for me in the car?" Ethan said.

"Okay," Ashley replied.

After everyone left, only Ethan and Yaakov remained in the room.

Ethan emanated a powerful presence. "I know what you want to say. If you don't want Ashley to worry, keep your mouth shut. Don't mention what you shouldn't!"

"So you really did have a heart transplant?" Yaakov asked in surprise. "You're hiding something this significant from Ashley? You're insane!"

Ethan gave him a cold look. "Keep quiet. If Ashley finds out, I won't forgive you."

With that, he pressed the button on his wheelchair and turned to leave.

Yaakov followed him, his tone serious. "Ethan, don't you want to recover your memory?"

"What do you mean?"

"I've developed a drug that helps people recover their memories. It's been successful... but it hasn't been clinically tested yet."
