Chapter 156 The Yates Family Visitor

"You handle it, but Ashley can't join the White family," Landon said, walking off with Liam hurrying to catch up.

Ashley had been resting at the hospital all day. The doctor said she could go home, so Ethan arranged a car, put her in a wheelchair, and got ready to take her to his private villa.

Just as they reached the hospital entrance, Ethan got a call from Ivy. He frowned but answered.

"Hello."

"Ethan, Catherine and George are visiting tonight. Come home so we can all catch up."

"George? Wasn't he abroad a few days ago?"

George is Ethan's cousin, and they had been close since childhood.

"Yeah, he got back yesterday. I invited Catherine for dinner, and George wanted to join."

"Alright."

Ethan turned to Ashley. "Honey, we need to go to the Yates Mansion first. We'll stay there tonight and head to the villa tomorrow."

"Okay," Ashley said. "Are there guests at your place today?"

"Yes, Catherine and George."

"I haven't heard you mention them before. Should we get some gifts? It seems rude to show up empty-handed."

Ethan chuckled, stroking her hair. "We're family; no need for gifts."

"Still, it's polite. I don't want to seem rude."

"Alright, let's go shopping."

Ashley smiled. "Okay."

They got into the car, and as they drove off, Liam's car passed by. When Liam reached the hospital room, it was empty.

"Nurse, where's the patient from this room?"

"They've been discharged. Are you family? Her friend is handling the discharge for her. You can ask them."

"Okay."

Following the nurse's directions, Liam found Samantha at the billing counter. He hesitated but then approached her.

Samantha saw him and awkwardly smiled. "Hi, what a coincidence."

Liam, always cheerful, smiled warmly. "Not really. The nurse told me you were here. Why is Ashley being discharged? Isn't she still hurt?"

"The doctor said she could recover at home, so we did the discharge. Do you need something from her?"

"Yeah." Liam nodded, scratching his head. "I don't have her number."

Landon had it, but Liam doubted he'd share it.

"I can give it to you."

"Thanks."

Samantha gave him Ashley's number. He saved it and handed her phone back.

Samantha looked at Liam, as if she had something to say.

Liam's heart raced. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Did we go to the same school?" Samantha asked.

Liam's face lit up. "You remember?"

Samantha laughed. "You looked familiar the first time I saw you. Seeing you up close today, I thought we might have gone to the same school."

Liam smiled. He checked his watch and asked, "Want to grab dinner?"

"Sure."

They left the hospital together.

Meanwhile, Ashley and Ethan were shopping on the third floor of a mall. Ethan pushed Ashley's wheelchair through the crowd, drawing attention.

"Ethan, what's their style? What do they like?"
