Chapter 318 Do Annie and Ashley Look Alike?
"Annie?"
When Ethan first heard the name, he instinctively glanced at Annie, and Ava's image popped into his head.
But Ava and Annie looked nothing alike.
Peeking through the rearview mirror, Ethan noticed that Annie looked a lot like Ashley, almost like they could be sisters!
Ethan frowned, feeling a weird sense of unease about Annie suddenly showing up.
But then he thought, Annie was just a stranger. Why would she have made him feel uneasy? He must have been overthinking it!
Ethan drove Annie to the hospital.
After checking her out, the doctor said, "Your right leg's fractured. We'll need to put a cast on it, and it'll take about a month before we can take it off and see how it's healing."
Annie said, "Thanks."
After the doctor left, Annie said, "Sir, you need to cover all my medical bills and compensate me for the emotional distress I've experienced."
Ethan, getting impatient, said, "For any follow-up stuff, talk to my lawyer. Discuss your demands with him."
Ethan tossed her a business card and got ready to leave.
"Wait," Annie said. "I don't know your name. How can I tell him? You should call him first. Also, give me your contact info. You promised to take responsibility for me!"
Ethan, getting more annoyed, coldly said, "Give me your phone."
Annie handed him her phone. Ethan entered his number and gave it back to her, saying, "The number's saved. Contact me if you need to."
With that, he turned and left.
Annie looked at the phone number, a sly smile forming on her lips, her eyes gleaming with a cunning plan...
The next day
After a good night's sleep, Ashley felt much better.
Regarding Nora's situation, the new blood sample had been sent to the hospital for testing, and the results would take ten days. As for who had arranged the paternity test for Ethan and Nora, Nick was already investigating.
Ashley changed her clothes and went to Mia's room. "Mom, I've contacted my mentor. I'll take you and Dad to visit him."
"Alright, wait a moment. I'll prepare some gifts before we leave," Mia said.
"Mom, I'm really close with my mentor. We can go directly; no need for gifts," Ashley said, feeling a bit helpless.
"That's not appropriate!" Mia, unsure of what to bring for Ashley's mentor, seemed a bit nervous. "You were lost for so many years. If it weren't for your mentor's guidance, I can't imagine what might have happened to you. So, when visiting your mentor, we should bring a thoughtful gift."
Ashley knew this was Mia's way of showing her gratitude. Seeing that she couldn't persuade her otherwise, she said, "Alright then."
The mother and daughter picked out a bunch of gifts and loaded them into the trunk. Ashley helped Mia and John into the car, while Landon and Liam stood beside it.
Liam said, "Ashley, taking care of Mom and Dad by yourself might be too much. How about getting someone to help you out?"
Landon nodded in agreement. "Liam, why don't you go with them?"
Liam was caught off guard. "But I haven't finished my work at the company."
Landon said, "I'll handle the company stuff. Ashley can't take care of Mom and Dad alone. You should go and help."
After thinking it over, Liam nodded. "Ashley, what do you think?"
Ashley nodded, "Alright, Liam, come with me."
After giving some instructions, Liam got into the car. The four of them then set off for Ashley's mentor's house.
Landon watched them leave. The driver approached and asked, "Mr. White, are we heading to the company?"
Landon shook his head. "No, we're going to the Zito Mansion."
Felicity, out on medical parole and constantly followed by police, had no chance to see Landon. To her surprise, Landon came to her.
Felicity's heart raced when she saw Landon at the Zito Mansion. "Landon, you're here."
Landon remained indifferent to her. He sat down calmly and said coldly, "Let's talk about your pregnancy."
Felicity guessed that Ashley might have revealed her pregnancy. Her face flushed as she sat opposite him.
With a gentle gaze, Felicity said, "Landon, I'm two months pregnant and everything is going well."
Landon narrowed his eyes, a hint of sarcasm flashing in them. "Felicity, you schemed to get pregnant, and you feel accomplished, don't you?"
The more he looked at her, the more disgusted he felt!
Felicity's face turned pale instantly.
Landon coldly said, "Get rid of the baby. Name your price for compensation, and we can discuss it."
Felicity felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over her, "Landon, I can't abort the baby!"
Felicity said, "If you force me to abort, I'll make sure everyone knows about this!"
A cold glint flashed across Landon's face, "Are you threatening me? Look at your situation. Do you think you have the power?"
"I mean it!" Felicity's eyes flashed with madness, her face contorted with rage.
The conversation broke down, and Landon, not wanting to deal with her, turned to leave.
Felicity suddenly rushed over and hugged Landon from behind, pleading, "Landon, I don't have any illusions about you marrying me. Please just acknowledge the baby. Please, let me have the baby. I don't want to spend the rest of my life in prison!"
