Chapter 499 Four Childish Men Fighting

"Uncle Totti, did you really mean what you said about taking us to live at the palace?" Nate asked innocently, his eyes full of hope as he looked up at Ethan.

"Of course. I never lie," Ethan replied, then hesitated. "It's just..."

He suddenly remembered he had deliberately misled Atticus, and that Ashley's injuries hadn't fully healed yet. If the children moved into the palace too quickly, they would certainly be concerned about her condition.

"What is it, Uncle?" Andy asked.

"The children's rooms aren't quite ready yet. It will be three more days at most. Until then, I'll arrange for you to stay at a hotel near the palace. Once everything is prepared, I'll bring you to live at the palace. Is that acceptable?"

Nate, being less suspicious, nodded. "Okay."

Andy's eyes flickered thoughtfully. "Uncle, I don't necessarily need to live in the palace. I just haven't seen Mommy for several days and I miss her. Could I stay with her tonight?"

"Absolutely not!" Ethan refused without hesitation, his tone severe.

Andy's expression darkened as his mind began to race with possibilities.

"But why not?" Nate asked. "We're small—we could just squeeze in with Mommy."

Ethan realized his response had been too harsh and quickly adjusted his demeanor. "Kids, your mother... isn't in a position to have visitors right now. Can you wait just three more days? You'll see her then, I promise."

Ashley's wounds were nearly healed; he estimated three more days would be sufficient for complete recovery, at which point the children wouldn't need to worry.

Nate voiced his agreement.

Andy quietly observed Ethan's shifting expressions, noting how his eyes darted nervously. Though he couldn't quite understand why, something felt off. In TV shows, when someone prevented people from seeing each other, there was always a hidden reason—either someone had died or been seriously injured.

At this thought, Andy's heart began racing. Could Mommy be hurt? But they'd had video calls recently.

Andy became so distracted with worry that he didn't hear the subsequent conversation between Nate and Ethan. His mind was consumed with concern about his mother's condition.

At the preschool entrance, Ethan said, "We've arrived. I'll pick you up this afternoon."

"Alright," Angela replied.

"Okay, Uncle," Andy answered.

After Ethan escorted the children inside, Yaakov and Liam watched from their hiding spot.

When Liam spotted Ethan after so long, he nearly charged forward. "Yaakov, look! It's Ethan! That bastard—he really did get remarried and has three children now. He hasn't even divorced my sister! How could he do this to her? I'm going to kill him!"

Meanwhile, Ian said to Ethan, "Your Highness, shall we head to the hospital now?"

"Yes," Ethan agreed.

"Ethan, you bastard!"

A sudden shout stopped Ethan in his tracks. Before he could identify who was yelling, a figure came charging at him with incredible speed. Before Ethan or his bodyguards could react, Liam had grabbed him by the collar and was throwing punch after punch.

Ian shouted, "Quick! Protect His Highness!"

As Ethan and Liam grappled with each other, blows raining down, Ethan's handsome face quickly became swollen, blood appearing at the corner of his mouth.

He ran his tongue along the inside of his cheek and muttered, "You're dead."

Ethan grabbed Liam and struck back hard. The two men exchanged blow for blow while several bodyguards tried unsuccessfully to separate them.

Ian paced anxiously before shouting, "Your Highness, I'm coming!" and lunging at Liam.

Before he could even touch Ethan, Ian received a punch from Liam.

Furious, Ian joined forces with Ethan against Liam.

It quickly became two against one.

Seeing this, Yaakov shouted, "You think you can beat up my friend and I'll do nothing?" He jumped in and began pummeling Ian.

Ethan growled, "You're dead! Let him go!"

The four men devolved into a brawling mass, causing onlookers to scream.

Suddenly, a police officer blew his whistle and shouted, "Hey, you four! Fighting is prohibited in front of a preschool. Arrest them!"

Several officers approached and separated the men while Ethan's bodyguards quickly surrounded him.

"You useless fools!" Ian raged at the bodyguards. "All of you standing there, and not one brave enough to intervene! What are we paying you for?"

Though visibly upset by the unexpected attack, Ethan straightened his rumpled clothes with remarkable elegance, his demeanor commanding despite the situation.

He gave Liam and Yaakov a cold stare. "So it's you again. And you brought backup this time."

Ethan recognized Yaakov.

"What, are you scared?" Yaakov sneered. "Don't tell me you've conveniently forgotten who I am. Or your wife's brother too!"

He pointed at Liam.

Brother?

Ethan raised an eyebrow, studying Liam for a moment before coldly stating, "Scammers are getting quite creative these days."

Liam was livid. "Damn it, I went too easy on you! You ungrateful piece of—don't hold me back! I'll kill him!"

The police officer blew his whistle again. "You're causing trouble in front of police officers? Take all four of them to the station!"
