Chapter 48 Mrs. Yates Stuns the World
Kelsey got Ashley's request and had someone gather the tools while she headed to the dressing room to change. The maid then dressed a mannequin in Kelsey's clothes and showed it off to everyone.
Ashley, strutting in high heels, circled the dress, checking it out from every angle.
People started whispering, "This chick from Aivalia is just showing off. Bet she'll mess up big time."
The comment section was buzzing: [Isn't this Mrs. Yates? She's already lucky to be rich. Get lost and stop embarrassing Aivalia.]
Over at the White family.
Landon scoffed, "Boring. She's just an attention-seeking clown. I'm done watching."
Liam chimed in, "Landon, don't leave. Everyone thinks she'll mess up, but I think it's interesting. There might be a big twist."
Outside the banquet hall.
Ethan talked to the guard, "I need to see my wife. Can you let Her Majesty know and see if I can go in?"
"Mr. Yates, please wait a moment."
The guard went inside.
Ethan called Diannel. "How's it going? Bring Elisa to the banquet now."
"Mr. Yates, Elisa's got a stomachache and wants to go to the hospital. She might not make it."
"Damn it!"
Ethan cursed under his breath. Why now?
"Get a top designer from Ferndale here ASAP!"
"Yes, Mr. Yates."
After hanging up, the guard returned. "Mr. Yates, since this is a ladies' event, Her Majesty asks you to enter from another direction. Follow me."
"Alright."
Ethan followed the guard.
Inside the banquet.
All eyes were on Ashley.
Kelsey, being a queen, wore mature and dignified clothes. The dress was dark red with intricate patterns and lace trim. It was traditional, giving off a solemn vibe.
Ashley thought it needed some cheerful elements and bright colors. She had a plan.
She grabbed scissors and cut off the excess lace from the puffy skirt. The crowd gasped!
Then, she cut the sleeves to make it off-shoulder.
People whispered, "The dress was beautiful, and she ruined it!"
The live comments: [I can't watch this. It's so embarrassing.]
Ashley ignored them, took the dress off the mannequin, and started sewing.
Every step was live-streamed. Her cool and skillful techniques split the comment section.
Moments later.
The puffy skirt was now a ruched puffy skirt.
Ashley took off her pearl necklace.
With a snap, the pearls fell into a box. She threaded them with a needle and sewed them onto the off-shoulder as embellishments.
She cut the removed lace into butterfly shapes and sewed them onto the dress.
Done.
Ashley asked the guard, "Can I go to the dressing room to dress Her Majesty?"
The guard nodded, "Yes."
He led Ashley to the dressing room.
People gossiped and speculated while waiting.
Ethan arrived just as Ashley entered the dressing room. Kelsey didn't let him attend the banquet, but he was anxious to help Ashley. He could do nothing but stand in the corner, feeling helpless.
Suddenly, enthusiastic applause snapped Ethan back. He saw Kelsey, supported by the guard, appearing before everyone.
Her modified dress now had a sexy touch amidst the solemnity. It was eye-catching but not stunning.
Ashley sensed the crowd's surprise and said, "Your Majesty, forgive me."
"Hmm?"
Kelsey looked confused. Ashley waved her hand, letting down Kelsey's old-fashioned golden hair, and placed an exquisite headband on her.
Instantly, the 40-something Kelsey looked youthful and vibrant!
Everyone gasped in amazement.
Ethan's jaw dropped, his eyes on Ashley.
She had surprised him again!
Ethan's calm heart suddenly felt huge waves...
At that moment, a woman from Ferndale arrived. "This is amazing, Your Majesty. If I were a man, I'd be captivated by you right now!"
She then looked at Ashley!
