Chapter 484 Will the White Family Reunite?
"What did you say?" Landon gasped in shock.
"I'm certain it was Ethan, and he's remarried with three children now!"
Landon slammed his fist on the table in rage. "That bastard, how could he..."
Thinking about how they still hadn't found Ashley, tears of anguish streamed down his face.
Landon continued, "Once I find my sister—as brilliant as she is—she'll have men lining up for her. Ethan will live to regret this!"
Yaakov sighed. "Landon, it's been six years. Don't you think it's time to accept..."
A commotion interrupted from Landon's end, causing Yaakov to furrow his brow.
"What's happening?"
"Yaakov, I have to go. Something's come up. I'll call you later."
They hurriedly ended the call.
Yaakov let out a soft sigh.
When someone died, some people immediately remarried and had children, while others couldn't accept the loss even after years—the difference between shallow love and genuine family bonds.
At the thought of Ethan, Yaakov scoffed with contempt.
He approached his workbench, reaching for the healing ointment, but found the surface completely bare. "Who took my restoration cream?"
Yaakov immediately contacted the research facility manager to review the security footage.
Meanwhile, Andrei had smuggled the ointment out of the lab and brought it to his dim basement. There, Mary awakened in excruciating pain, cruelly bound by ropes with a cloth gagging her mouth, only able to make muffled groans of agony.
Mary struggled desperately.
"Stop crying. Look, I've brought medicine for you," Andrei said.
His previous homemade ointment had only worsened her injuries. Last night while collecting trash, he'd overheard Yaakov mention the healing creams on his desk and had taken three bottles.
It should be enough for a complete treatment to heal Mary's wounds.
"Come, let me apply this for you."
Andrei lifted her clothes and began applying the medicine. His previous treatment had left her wounds in a horrific state, and his heavy-handed approach turned each application into another form of torture.
At the Grayson residence, Ethan had just stepped out of his luxury car to see Andy and Nate waiting eagerly. They wore matching casual outfits, each with a large water bottle strapped to their back, looking as adorable as cartoon characters.
"Uncle Totti!"
"Good morning, little ones. Have you had breakfast?"
"We've already eaten."
"Then let's go."
As the three prepared to leave, Atticus approached. "Wait, I'm coming too."
Ethan raised an eyebrow. "You? Are you sure?"
"Of course!" Atticus replied. "Don't think I don't know what you're up to. You're trying to get rid of me so you can take Pearl and the kids out, giving you the perfect opportunity to court Ashley."
Ethan clicked his tongue. "Is that what you think of me? Go look in the car and see if Pearl is there."
Atticus walked over to check and found Angela sitting inside, drinking milk.
"Good morning, Mr. Grayson."
"Good morning, Angela."
Not seeing Ashley, Atticus asked, "Where's Pearl? I haven't seen her for almost three days."
"She has business at the palace. You'll see her soon enough."
As Atticus was about to ask more questions, Ethan checked his watch. "Kids, into the car please."
Andy and Nate climbed in, sitting alongside Angela.
Just as Atticus was about to board, Ethan said, "I'm afraid you won't be joining us today."
"Why not?"
"Didn't the staff inform you? There's a baby formula factory press conference today that you must attend."
Atticus hadn't received any such message and looked at him suspiciously. "Why aren't you attending the press conference?"
"Me?" Ethan raised his eyebrows. "I'm the one giving orders from above. Press conferences are for subordinates to handle."
The implication that Atticus was beneath him was clear.
Atticus fumed silently.
"We're leaving now. Goodbye," Ethan said as he took the passenger seat, and the luxury car sped away.
Just then, Atticus's phone rang: "Mr. Grayson, there's a press conference at 10 AM today. As the milk supplier for the formula factory, you're specially invited to give an address. The location is..."
"Fine, I understand," Atticus replied.
He went home to change clothes, then headed to the address provided.
The press conference proceeded smoothly, with Atticus delivering a speech that made him look incredibly handsome.
The news conference was quickly broadcast, and since this was the first business collaboration with Gold Valley District, Aivalia was promoting it as well.
Atticus trended online due to his good looks. As Liam was preparing to go to the hospital, Yara approached with her phone. "Darling, look at this man. Isn't he the one who took Ashley away years ago?"
Liam leaned in to look. "That's definitely him! After he took my sister away, we searched for years but couldn't find them!"
"Honey, let's go to Gold Valley District. What if we could finally find Ashley?"
