Chapter 116 Ready for Discharge

The bodyguard followed Ethan's orders and tortured Ava repeatedly.

Meanwhile, Ethan, feeling exhausted, found a quiet spot to nap.

Over two hours later.

The bodyguard reported, "Mr. Yates, as you instructed, she's been pushed down ten times and is now unconscious. What's next?"

Ethan checked his watch. "I heard there's a room in the prison full of rapists. You know what to do."

"But if we do that... she might die."

"Tell them they can do whatever they want, but if anyone kills her, they'll be held responsible."

"Understood."

Ethan left, leaving the rest to the bodyguard.

The bodyguard looked at the badly injured Ava and threw her into the cell, passing on Ethan's instructions.

The men inside were thrilled...

Ethan had promised to make Ava wish she were dead. This was beyond cruel.

Ava's hatred grew stronger, cursing Ethan and Ashley daily. If she ever escaped...

The next day.

Ashley woke up to find Ethan sleeping beside her. Seeing his handsome face, she felt warmth in her heart and gently kissed his lips.

It was meant to be a light peck.

But Ethan woke up immediately. As Ashley tried to pull away, he held her head and gave her a passionate good morning kiss.

After a moment, they separated, both breathing heavily.

Their faces were close, eyes filled with affection.

Both smiled, the atmosphere sweet.

Ashley said, "Good morning, honey."

Ethan smiled. "Good morning, honey."

Ashley noticed his dark circles. "Honey, are you not used to the hospital bed? Why do you have such heavy dark circles?"

A glint flashed in Ethan's eyes. He wouldn't let her know how he dealt with Ava last night.

He gently ruffled her hair. "The bed is too small. I had to hold you while sleeping, or else I'd fall off. Holding you without being able to truly touch you was excruciating."

Ashley blushed. "The doctor said it might take more than half a year for me to fully recover"

"No worries, my self-control is strong."

"Really?"

Ashley raised an eyebrow, not believing him.

They both laughed, the atmosphere warm and sweet.

There was a knock on the door.

Ethan got up. "Come in."

Several doctors entered to check on Ashley. "Mr. Yates, we've assessed Mrs. Yates' condition. Her casts can be removed in about a month and a half. Her overall health is good. Do you plan to continue her treatment at the hospital or at home?"

Ethan replied, "We'll treat her at home."

It was more convenient at home, and she could be better taken care of.

"Alright, I'll prepare the discharge paperwork."

Ethan nodded and then asked, "How are my grandparents doing?"

"Katherine has woken up. She has multiple fractures, but her overall health is stable."

Ethan sighed in relief. "And my grandfather?"

The doctor said, "He is still unconscious. We'll conduct a thorough examination later."

Ethan nodded, feeling worried. Michael had raised him, and if anything happened to him, Ethan would be devastated.

"Ethan, don't worry. Michael will get better."

Ethan nodded, silently praying for his grandfather, unaware that Michael's coma was due to Ava injecting him with other drugs.

Another knock on the door.

"Come in."

It was Ethan's mother, Ivy.

"Mom, what are you doing here?"

Ivy said, "Ethan, you don't want me here? I’m here to visit Ms. White, of course..."

Her gaze fell on Ashley, finally settling on her belly. Her fox-like eyes darkened, leaving her thoughts unreadable.
