Chapter 176 Panic
Ethan hadn't been this mad in ages. Today, he was like a cat with its tail stepped on, totally bristling!
"Ethan, put her down right now."
Instead of letting Felicity go, Ethan lifted her higher and said coldly, "Mom, you've got nothing to do. There's a project at the branch office. Go handle it immediately."
"Branch office?"
Ivy was shocked. Since her divorce from Ethan's dad, the Yates family never involved her in their business. She asked, surprised and excited, "Which branch office?"
Ethan saw the excitement in Ivy's eyes and smirked. "The one in Frostwind."
Ivy's face fell from anticipation to disappointment and mock anger.
But she didn't dare lose her temper in front of Ethan, so she just sulked.
"Ethan, I haven't managed the company in years. I don't think I'm up to it. Maybe I shouldn't go."
Ivy laughed awkwardly, trying to decline.
Frostwind was dirty and poor; she thought it was beneath her!
Ethan sneered, "Don't be so modest. I've got your ticket ready. Pack your things and leave immediately!"
Ivy's face turned pale. "Ethan, are you trying to get rid of me?"
Ethan replied, "You should be grateful you're my mom. If it were anyone else, the consequences would be the same as hers."
Ethan glanced at the half-conscious Felicity.
With that, he dragged Felicity towards the restricted area in the backyard.
"Ethan, I'm sorry, I was wrong. Don't be mad. Don't leave her in the restricted area, please..."
Ivy followed, not out of genuine concern for Felicity, but because she feared the Yates family would be blamed if something happened to her.
"Ethan, don't be impulsive. I'm begging you, let her go..."
Ignoring Ivy's pleas, Ethan threw Felicity into a cage where he kept animals.
The lion's roar was terrifying.
Felicity, who had been in a daze, was instantly awakened by the roar.
When she first opened her eyes, she was confused, but seeing a large animal slowly approaching, her face turned pale with fear, and she began to tremble.
Felicity wanted to escape, but she was trapped in a cage. This made her restless and uncomfortable. She pleaded, "Aunt Ivy, save me."
The lion approached her but, for some reason, only drooled and circled without attacking.
The lion seemed ready to pounce, but when it saw Ethan's cold, warning gaze, it just licked its lips and didn't dare come closer.
Ivy was terrified by the scene.
"Ethan, that's enough. She will die! I know you're mad at me for pushing Felicity towards you, but she's innocent. Punish me instead, not her. She could really get hurt..."
Just then, the lion pounced on Felicity, knocking her down.
Felicity's eyes widened in terror, and she fainted from the shock.
Ivy covered her face, screaming in fear.
The lion licked its lips, seemingly ready for a meal.
But it sensed a powerful aura.
It looked at Ethan and saw his cold, warning gaze. The lion whimpered.
"Mom."
Ethan looked coldly at Ivy. "If you ever push another girl towards me again, this will be your fate and theirs!"
Ivy's face turned pale with fear.
"Ethan, I was wrong. I won't do it again. Please let her go!"
Ethan's actions had indeed scared Ivy and Felicity, leaving them too frightened to cause trouble or try to break him and Ashley apart.
"What's the rush? This is just the beginning. Tonight, let her spend the night with this little kitten."
Just then, Thomas arrived. "Mr. Yates, I've prepared the ticket to Frostwind as you requested."
Ethan nodded and glanced at Ivy.
He didn't say anything, but his gaze was clear.
Reluctantly, Ivy took the ticket and saw the flight was in an hour. "Ethan, are you in such a hurry to get rid of me?"
"Mom, Ashley has done nothing to wrong you. As for her infertility, I'll be there for her as we face this challenge. Please don't meddle!"
"The flight is about to take off. Pack your things and leave."
Ivy clenched the ticket. "Fine, I'll go."
Damn Ashley, even if she's not in the Yates family, she can still handle her.
"Ethan..." Ivy glanced at Felicity. "Can you let her go?"
Ethan gave her a warning look. "Do you have the right to negotiate with me?"
Ivy fell silent, looking worriedly at Felicity. Under Ethan's pressure, she had no choice but to pack her bags and head to Frostwind.
As soon as she left, Thomas approached Ethan. "Mr. Yates, she's gone."
"Good."
Ethan responded indifferently.
Thomas glanced at Felicity. "Mr. Yates, you've successfully scared them. They shouldn't cause any more trouble. Should I have someone take Ms. Zito out?"
Ethan smirked. "As long as I'm here, that beast won't dare harm anyone."
"I know, you're just cold on the outside but warm on the inside, just trying to warn them. By the way, I have something to say, but I'm not sure if I should..."
