Chapter 164 Talking with Felicity

For Ethan, the Yates family only hosted close friends, so seeing Felicity there was a letdown.

Plus, the events of that night were still a mystery, and now Ivy was stirring the pot by seating Felicity next to him. Wasn't this just asking for trouble?

"Mom, why did you bring her here?"

Ethan's face turned red with anger as he glared at Felicity.

Felicity was used to such looks; she felt nothing, like a puppet being controlled.

"What's the problem? Felicity is also my guest. Felicity, don't mind, sit and chat with us."

"Ashley, I put Felicity next to Ethan. You don't mind, right?"

Ivy was testing Ashley. If she showed any jealousy, Ivy would pounce.

Unexpectedly, Ashley smiled and said, "I don't mind, but I need to talk to Ms. Zito. Can we sit over there?"

Ashley glanced at the small garden by the window.

Ivy didn't expect Ashley to be so calm and even want to talk to Felicity.

Was she planning to intimidate Felicity?

Ivy sneered inside but kept a friendly face. "Alright then, Felicity, take Ashley over there. Ashley, don't bully Felicity."

"I'm partially disabled, who can I bully?"

Ivy's smile froze.

Felicity said, "Aunt Ivy, I'll take Ms. Wilson to the garden."

"Okay."

Felicity stepped forward, pushing Ashley's wheelchair to the garden.

Ethan, feeling uneasy, was about to follow when George held him back.

"Bro, what's up with you? You're always clinging to Ashley. Worried about something?"

"I'm just going to see if they need help."

"Help with what? They're just talking. Sit down and play another round with me."

George forced Ethan onto the sofa.

Ethan sighed, picked up the game console, and while playing with George, he kept his eyes on Ashley...

In the small garden.

"Ms. Zito, relax, please sit."

"Thank you."

Felicity lowered her eyes, making it hard to read her emotions, but Ashley sensed she was in a bad mood.

"Felicity, can I call you that?"

"What do you want?"

Felicity looked up, surprised, her voice cold.

Ashley smiled. "You seem upset. Did something happen?"

Felicity looked at her, eyes calm and silent.

"Felicity, I see a serious injury on your forehead. Did someone hit you?"

Felicity's eyes flickered. "What do you want to say?"

Ashley smiled. "Everyone has their struggles. If something bad happens, stand up and fight. Don't just accept it."

Ashley continued, "I believe you didn't intend to break up Ethan and me that night. If you were threatened, you can tell me. Maybe I can help."

Felicity blinked, staring at Ashley. Ashley smiled, the sunset casting a warm glow on her face, making her look like an angel.

Felicity's heart softened.

She quickly lowered her head. "So you want me to tell the truth about that night? You could have just said so directly."

Ashley was about to explain when Felicity continued, "Actually, that night I..."

"Ashley, Felicity, you must be thirsty. I brought snacks and fruit."

Ivy appeared out of nowhere with a tray of fruits.

Felicity's eyes flickered, and she swallowed her words.

"Thank you, Aunt Ivy."

"Thank you, Mom."

"Don't just stand there, eat up."

Ivy beamed, handing out food, even feeding fruit to Ashley.

Ashley raised an eyebrow, her mind clear.

Ivy was being overly attentive for no reason. She was definitely up to something!
