Chapter 505 Dare to Do a Paternity Test?
Angela witnessed Nate's abduction from amid the crowd, her heart racing with fear.
The teacher immediately called the police while Angela, too anxious to wait, called Ethan, "Nate's been kidnapped, and Andy flagged down a car to chase after them!"
Ethan bolted upright upon hearing the news. "What?! This can't be happening!"
His voice turned stern, "Stay calm. I'm deploying police units immediately."
Ethan personally contacted the Chief of Police, who—jumping to conclusions—assumed 'the Prince's illegitimate sons had been abducted.' Eager to prove his worth, the Chief assured him, "Your Highness, we'll seal off every road and apprehend the suspects immediately."
"You have three minutes. Find them."
Ethan thought Andy and Nate weren't his biological children. But he found himself overwhelmed with anxiety, struggling to breathe at the thought of them in danger. The three-minute wait felt like an eternity of torture.
Meanwhile, as Liam rushed toward the hospital with the boys, police blockades suddenly appeared throughout the streets. When officers searched Liam's car and found two unconscious children, they immediately jumped to conclusions.
"We've found them! Arrest the kidnapper!"
"For God's sake," Liam protested, "I'm not a kidnapper! I rescued these boys!"
"Save your lies," an officer barked. "Do you have any idea who these children are? They're Prince Totti's sons! You must have a death wish kidnapping them."
Liam froze. "What did you say? Whose sons?"
"You heard me—Prince Totti's children!"
Liam's face drained of color. As officers attempted to detain him, he struggled against them. "This is absurd! I'm being punished for doing the right thing. Who's going to help strangers if this is how good Samaritans are treated?"
While Liam argued with the police, Ethan arrived at the scene after receiving word the children had been found. Stepping out of his car, he saw officers restraining someone.
"Cuff him and take him away!"
"Let me go! Are you insane? These kids need medical attention right now!"
Recognizing the voice, Ethan pushed through the crowd. "Liam?"
"Ethan!" After a moment of stunned silence, Liam pleaded, "I'm not a kidnapper! I saved them. Tell your men to release me!"
Ethan knew instantly Liam couldn't be guilty. With a wave of his hand, the confused officers hesitated.
Ian snapped at them, "What are you waiting for? Release him immediately! How could His Highness's friend possibly be a kidnapper, you idiots!"
The officers hastily removed Liam's handcuffs.
By then, Ethan had reached the car and saw the unconscious boys—one covered in dirt, the other with a bruised face and swelling on his head. Fear and regret coursed through him—fear for their safety and regret for failing to protect them.
"To the hospital, now!" Ethan commanded.
Ian arranged the vehicles, and Liam joined them. Each man carried one child as they rushed to the hospital.
The atmosphere in the car was tense and somber.
Liam studied the children, then Ethan, noticing the unmistakable resemblance—they were clearly miniature versions of the prince.
"Ethan," Liam said angrily, "you told me you weren't seeing anyone. How do you explain having children? What about your commitment to Ashley?"
Ethan frowned, clearly annoyed. "I've already explained this—they are not my children. Believe what you want."
"Not yours?" Liam scoffed. "Are you blind? They look exactly like you! How can you deny they're your sons?"
Frustrated by the argument, Ethan studied Andy and Nate more carefully. Indeed, the resemblance was striking.
"Looking alike doesn't mean we're related," he insisted.
"If you're so certain, why not take a paternity test?"
Ethan laughed coldly. "Why would I need to do that?"
"You're afraid! You know what the results would show!"
"Your reverse psychology won't work on me. There's no blood relation between us—a paternity test would be a waste of time."
"You keep making excuses because you're too scared to face the truth. My poor sister... how did she end up with such a heartless man?"
Ethan, his head throbbing from the argument, finally snapped, "Enough! You want a paternity test? Fine, I'll do it!"
