Chapter 169 The Once Confident Ashley

Sienna heard Ashley's voice and got nervous.

"Ashley?" she called out.

Following the sound, she found Ashley on the bathroom floor, looking a mess.

Sienna rushed to help but almost slipped on the wet floor.

"Be careful, Sienna!" Ashley warned.

"Ms. Nelson, slow down!" Thomas quickly caught Sienna just in time. Both women were shaken.

"Thanks," Sienna said, then hurried to help Ashley. Seeing Sienna's big belly, Thomas stepped in to assist.

"Mrs. Yates, how did you fall? Where's Mr. Yates, and why aren't the maids here?" Thomas asked.

"Ethan said the maids hademergencies and took leave. He had to rush to work," Ashley explained.

Sienna felt heartbroken. "Ashley, how did this happen? Ethan always says he loves you, but he doesn't see your struggles. Men and their empty words!"

Sienna's anger grew.

"Ethan does love me, but work comes first. Thanks for helping me, Sienna. Can you take me to the hospital?" Ashley asked.

"Sure," Sienna agreed.

They helped Ashley into a wheelchair. Sienna noticed a faint unpleasant smell and looked puzzled. Thomas noticed it too.

"Mrs. Yates, you got dirty when you fell. Maybe you should clean up before going to the hospital," Thomas suggested gently.

Ashley sniffed and caught a whiff of sweat, wrinkling her nose in disgust. She felt panicked, thinking Ethan must be disgusted with her too.

"Ashley?" Sienna called, seeing her lost in thought. "If it's hard for you to clean up, I'll help."

"Can you take us to the hospital later?" Sienna asked Thomas.

"Sure," Thomas replied and left.

Sienna got the water ready, pushed Ashley to the tub, and gently wiped her down with a towel. Seeing Ashley's injuries broke her heart.

"Ashley, ever since you got with Ethan, it's like you've had the worst luck. You used to be so confident and charming, like a queen. Now look at you..."

Sienna's voice cracked with emotion. "Is it worth it to end up like this for Ethan?"

Ashley looked down, her eyes unreadable, but her voice was filled with sorrow. "Sienna, Ethan hasn't betrayed me. This is all Ava's doing."

"Then what happened today? Why did this happen?"

Ashley sighed. "His mom doesn't like me. She made me eat a lot of fruit, and my stomach got upset. I needed help to the bathroom, but all the maids were gone. I couldn't possibly..."

She felt deeply ashamed. "I couldn't ask my beloved to wipe my butt. I'd rather die."

Ashley sighed again. "Luckily, he had urgent work, so I sent him back to the office quickly. If he saw me like this, he'd be disgusted."

Sienna felt sad. "Ashley, you've changed. Where's your confidence? You used to shine wherever you went."

Sienna squatted down, cupping Ashley's face. "Listen, I used to revolve around Nathan and lost myself."

"A woman needs her own career to be confident and attractive."

"Ashley, after the hospital check-up, think about whether you should keep revolving around Ethan or focus on your career!"

Sienna's gaze was firm. Ashley thought about everything that had happened recently.

After a moment, Ashley nodded. "Yes, I'll think about it."

"That's the spirit! Be confident, not conflicted and paranoid over some guy!"

Sienna helped her clean up and change clothes. Ashley, worried about Sienna's big belly, kept thanking her, feeling very grateful.

Around nine in the evening, Ivy watched from the window as Sienna pushed Ashley in a wheelchair outside. Thomas helped them into the car and drove away.

Ivy sneered, a look of triumph in her eyes.

At the hospital, after a series of exams, the doctor looked at Ashley, shaking his head and sighing.

"Doctor, don't make that face. What's wrong with her? Is it serious?"
