After Ashley went missing, Ethan immediately called his buddy Ryan Reid for help.
Ryan was a top-notch inspector in the area, young, handsome, and incredibly skilled.
Ethan was frantic. "Ryan, any leads yet?"
Every second felt like a knife twisting in his gut.
"Ethan, this case is tricky. Mrs. Yates didn't have any electronic devices on her when she was taken, so we can't track her right now."
Ethan slammed the table in frustration. "I don't care how you do it, just find her fast!"
He hit the table so hard it shattered, his knuckles bleeding from the impact.
Ryan grabbed his hand. "Ethan, what are you doing? We have other options!"
"Like what?"
Ethan grabbed him, desperate.
Ryan said, "If she shows up on any street camera, the system will spot her in three seconds. Then we can locate her and send officers to rescue her."
Ethan's eyes were intense. "Easier said than done. Chris won't let her be seen on camera."
Ryan was also troubled by this.
Just then, Diannel walked into the monitoring room. "Mr. Yates, something's happened."
"What now?"
Ethan was indifferent. What could be worse than Ashley missing?

Ethan fell into deep thought.
"The White family is doing this to push me to marry Ava!"
He stroked his chin, pondering. "And the one who kidnapped Ashley is her ex, Chris. If..."
Ryan asked, "Ethan, what are you getting at?"
Ethan's lips curled into a sly smile, his eyes gleaming with cunning. "Ryan, I need everything on Chris. Get someone on it now."
Ryan nodded. "Got it."
A moment later, Ryan brought a file. "Here's everything on Chris."
Ethan flipped through it while Ryan explained, "I didn't expect Chris to be the illegitimate son of the Scott family."
The Scott family was also a big name in business.
The Yates and Scott families had crossed paths before.
"Henry Scott is surrounded by beautiful women, and his wife is a jealous and ruthless woman. If those women behave, they get paid off. But if they try to climb the social ladder, his wife Rachel Scott shows no mercy."
Henry was Chris's father.
"And Chris's mom was originally a maid for the Scott family. After hooking up with Henry, she gained status through her son. Rachel tricked her and got her kicked out. Hearing this, Ethan closed the file.

Ethan remembered the way Chris looked at Ashley and felt uneasy.

Ethan's lips curled into a sly smile, his eyes gleaming with cunning. "No, I'll admit to the relationship with the White family at the press conference..."
