Chapter 175 Ethan's Anger Led to Serious Consequences.
The Next Day
Ethan woke up early, feeling groggy and out of it. He reached out, expecting to find Ashley, but she wasn't there. That jolted him awake.
He remembered Sienna had taken Ashley away last night. With a pounding headache from staying up all night, he ruffled his hair in frustration and headed to the bathroom. Just as he stepped in, his phone rang—it was Ashley.
Ashley hadn't slept either. She needed to clear things up, so she called Ethan when Sienna wasn't looking. But the phone rang and rang with no answer, leaving her disappointed and anxious.
At the Yates Family house, Ivy had been fuming all night, her anger directed at Ashley. She clutched a rose, squeezing it as if it were Ashley.
"Auntie," Felicity said. She had been taken to the police station last night, and if Ivy hadn't bailed her out, she might still be there.
"Aunt Ivy, thanks for bailing me out last night," she said, standing obediently.
"Felicity, no need to be so formal. You're my future daughter-in-law," Ivy replied, her expression softening. "Ethan probably hasn't woken up yet. Why don't you take him this breakfast?"
"Okay," Felicity said, lowering her eyes.
"Thanks, Felicity. Make sure he gets it," Ivy added.
"Alright," Felicity replied. She grabbed the breakfast tray and knocked on Ethan's door.
After several knocks with no response, she called out, "Mr. Yates, Aunt Ivy asked me to bring you breakfast. Are you awake?" She pressed her ear to the door but heard nothing.
She gently opened the door and saw the room was empty. She placed the food on the table. Just then, a phone started ringing. The caller ID showed it was Ashley. Remembering last night's prank and the scolding she got, Felicity felt a pang of fear.
She decided to answer the call.
"Ethan, where have you been? What took you so long to answer the call?"
Ashley, struggling with her limited mobility, had exhausted herself making the call.
Felicity, unsure how to explain last night's prank, was caught off guard when the bathroom door suddenly opened. Ethan, in a bathrobe with his collarbone showing, was drying his hair. Seeing Felicity, he was instantly furious.
"Felicity!"
Startled, she accidentally hung up the phone and dropped it on the table.
"Wasn't last night's lesson enough? How dare you barge into my room again?" Ethan's anger was palpable as he approached her, exuding a chilling menace.
"I..." Felicity stammered, her voice trembling.
"Let go of me..." Ethan grabbed her neck with such force it seemed he might snap it.
Felicity struggled, her face turning red from lack of oxygen. "I've warned you many times to stay away from me! You keep testing my limits. Do you think last night's punishment was too light and want something more thrilling?" Ethan's rage was terrifying.
"Mr. Yates... let me go... I didn't mean to... Aunt Ivy insisted... I bring the food... if I didn't... I would..." Felicity gasped.
"Using my mom as a shield again? Did she hold a knife to your throat and force you to seduce me, to destroy my family?" Ethan's face was livid, veins bulging.
Ivy, hearing the commotion, rushed upstairs. Just as Felicity was about to lose consciousness, Ivy arrived, looking terrified. "Ethan, what are you doing? Let her go! She's about to suffocate!"
Felicity was semi-conscious from lack of oxygen. Ethan stared coldly at Ivy, his gaze like icy blades. "Mom, if you push another woman I don't like into my room again, this will be the last time I call you Mom. I'll cut ties with you!"
He let go, and Felicity collapsed. Showing no pity, Ethan grabbed her and dragged her out.
"Ethan, what's so good about Ashley? She's a cripple now and might never be able to give you children. Listen to me, divorce her. Even if you don't like Felicity, we can find another girl!"
"Get out!" Ethan roared, dragging the semi-conscious Felicity towards the back garden.
Seeing Ethan's actions, Ivy's face filled with horror. "Ethan, what are you doing? You can't be thinking of throwing her to those beasts, can you? You can't do that, it could kill her..."
