Chapter 304 Another Misunderstanding
Felicity and David were both defendants. Felicity should've been locked up, but she got a pass 'cause she was pregnant and had a scare with a miscarriage, so they let her out on medical parole.
There was a cop car parked outside the Zito family crib, keeping tabs on Felicity 24/7.
Right now, Felicity was hiding out in her secret spot. When she saw Ashley and Samantha roll up, her eyes went all wild and paranoid.
Over at the White mansion...
John and Mia had hit the sack.
Ashley and Samantha were chilling in the yard, with Bolt sticking close. Ashley was petting Bolt and asked, "Samantha, can I ask you something?"
Samantha nodded, "Sure, shoot."
Ashley went straight for it, "Do you like Landon? You guys been seeing each other lately?"
Samantha didn’t see that coming and turned beet red.
She looked down, all shy.
Ashley’s heart skipped a beat, "Samantha, you guys aren’t a thing, are you?"
Samantha stammered, "I..."
She glanced around and saw Liam and Landon having drinks on the balcony. Turning her back to them, she whispered to Ashley, "I’ll let you in on a secret. Landon and I agreed to keep it hush-hush, but you’re my bestie, so I gotta tell you. But you can’t spill, okay?"
Ashley rolled her eyes, "Do I look like a gossip queen to you?"
Samantha grinned, "Of course not, I trust you the most."
Then Samantha leaned in and whispered in Ashley’s ear.
When she was done, Ashley’s face turned red too, "You guys actually..."
Ashley warned, "Samantha, you’re a good girl. Don’t get yourself hurt just for some fun."
She wasn’t saying this for Felicity’s sake but out of concern for Samantha. Even if it started as just a fling, it was always the girl who ended up hurt...
Ashley really didn’t want Samantha to get hurt.
Samantha said, "Ashley, I’m a grown-up. I know what I’m doing and I’ll own up to it. I know we’ll break up someday. He’s single now, but once he gets a girlfriend or fiancée, it’s over for us!"
Samantha looked determined.
Ashley, though, was still worried.
Ashley sighed, holding Samantha’s hand, "Samantha, it’s not easy to control your feelings. You’re my best friend, and he’s my brother. I don’t want either of you to get hurt."
Samantha hugged her, "Ashley, I know. I’ll handle it."
Ashley sighed again, "Samantha, if Landon ever messes with you, just tell me, and I’ll set him straight!"
Samantha blushed, "Thanks, Ashley."
Samantha leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.
Ashley chuckled, linking arms with Samantha, and they started whispering again.
Up on the second-floor balcony...
Landon and Liam were watching the two girls. Liam laughed, but Landon looked deep in thought.
Seeing Liam staring at Samantha, Landon asked, "Liam."
Liam looked puzzled, "Yeah?"
Landon’s voice was serious, "Do you like Samantha?"
Liam’s face turned red like he’d been caught. He scratched his head awkwardly, "We were schoolmates. I did have a thing for her back then..."
Landon’s eyes darkened, "So you liked her?"
Liam was super embarrassed, "I liked her before, but it’s different now."
Everyone’s had a crush, right?
Landon ignored the rest. He only heard Liam say he liked Samantha, and it made him press his temples in frustration.
He didn’t know Liam liked Samantha. If he’d known earlier...
For some reason, knowing Liam liked Samantha made Landon really uncomfortable.
Liam asked, "Landon, why are you asking this?"
Liam’s eyes lit up, "You don’t like Samantha, do you?"
Landon frowned, thinking the way Liam called Samantha was very intimate. If it weren’t for him, they might’ve been together.
Landon coldly said, "No."
Liam raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. He thought, Landon never gets into other people’s business. The first time he does, it’s about Samantha, so he must be into her.
Just as Liam was about to speak, Landon said, "Liam, if you like her, go for it."
With that, Landon turned and left.
Liam scratched his head, watching Landon walk away, and muttered, "What the heck, I said I liked her back in school. Could it be Landon is jealous?"
Liam stroked his chin with a mischievous smile, "This is interesting. Landon actually thinks I like Samantha. If he likes her too, won’t this drive him nuts!"
Liam chuckled to himself, "It’s rare to see him flustered. I’ll just sit back and enjoy the show!"
