Chapter 237 Is She Really My Mother?
Ethan shot up like a rocket, yelling his head off, eyes blazing like a pissed-off lion.
To Ethan, Michael was more important than his own life!
Fury and worry warred within him, knowing Michael was in the ICU and everyone was keeping it from him.
Ivy opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but seeing Ethan's furious, almost predatory look, she didn't dare to speak.
"Spit it out!" Ethan roared, "Why'd you all keep this from me? My grandpa's in the ICU, and I had to hear it from some rando?"
To Ethan, this was just plain ridiculous and shameful.
For some reason, what Ethan said made Doris feel uncomfortable.
James looked ashamed and didn't know how to say.
Finally, Ethan's gaze fell on Thomas. Seeing the terrifying aura emanating from Ethan, Thomas knew he had to speak.
Thomas sighed and said, "Mr. Ethan Yates, during the last crisis, there were rumors that the Yates Group was going bankrupt. Mrs. Ivy Yates, on that day... in front of Mr. Michael Yates, moved all her belongings out of the Yates family and transferred all her shares and assets."
Ashley gasped upon hearing this.
How could there be such a cold and pragmatic mother in this world?
Ashley had never been a mother, but she knew that a mother would do anything for her child!
Ivy's actions made even Ashley doubt whether she was Ethan's biological mother.
When such things happened, shouldn't parents have faced the difficulties together with their children? Since Ivy had already so heartlessly, why did she want to remarry James?
Or did she shamelessly come back to enjoy the good life after seeing that the Yates Group was no longer in crisis?
Ethan's face turned ashen. He looked at Ivy, his eyes shifting from anger to unfamiliarity and coldness.
Ethan's teeth ground together in rage, "Impressive!"
"You're really out there redefining motherhood, aren't you?" Ethan's voice was as cold as ice shards, "Dad, if you remarry her, it means cutting off our relationship. Think about it yourself!"
With that, Ethan turned and left.
Ashley chased after him, "Honey, where are you going?"
"The hospital!" Ethan shouted.
"Wait for me, I want to visit Grandpa too," Ashley said. Ethan threw out a sentence and then looked at Thomas, "Send me the address of Grandpa's hospital."
"Yes, Mr. Ethan Yates!" Thomas replied.
The sound of the car starting was heard, and then Ethan drove off with Ashley to visit Michael in the hospital.
After they left, Ivy snapped out of her fear.
Ivy screamed in rage, "Doris, I knew you were up to no good. I'll kill you!"
"Go ahead and try!" Doris sneered, "We are in a society governed by law, if you kill me, you'll face legal consequences!"
This sentence was like a bucket of cold water poured over Ivy's head, making her cover her face and cry, "Why are you against me!"
Seeing that the remarriage was imminent, yet she came to stir up trouble, Ivy was about to go mad with anger!
Doris sneered, "You don't know? You ruined my life, and my son..."
Doris wanted to say something, but Ivy immediately reacted. She rushed over in agitation and knocked Doris to the ground, "Doris, get out of the Yates family! This is not a place for you!"
In her anger, a trace of panic flashed in her eyes, as if she was afraid Doris would say something she shouldn't.
"Ivy, calm down." James hurriedly went to pull Doris up, "Doris, you just said she ruined you. What did she do?"
James caught some key points from her words.
Doris looked at the man in front of her. He was handsome and charming when he was young, but now he seemed more and more confused. She was about to explain clearly when Ivy suddenly clutched her head and fainted.
"Ivy, what's wrong?" James shook the unconscious woman.
Doris knew her little trick and sneered, "Are you fainting?"
She looked at the tea on the table, picked it up, and splashed it on Ivy's face.
James scolded, "Doris, what are you doing!"
Doris thought the splash would wake her up, but Ivy only moved her eyes slightly and continued to pretend to be unconscious.
Doris was about to explain but James said, "No matter what happened before, what you did today is really out of line!"
With that, James carried the unconscious Ivy away, not knowing that Ivy suddenly opened her eyes and gave Doris a cold, mocking look.
