Chapter 88 The Hindered Fact

"What imposter?"

Ivy looked puzzled. "Ethan, the White family just called to confirm the engagement details. I set the date for the day after tomorrow. We'll hold a press conference to announce the news. Both the Yates and White families will be thrilled."

Ethan smirked coldly. He didn't mention Ava pretending to be Ms. White. Since there would be a press conference, he could use that to reveal the truth.

"Alright," Ethan agreed.

Ivy had expected him to refuse, but the discussion went smoothly, making her extremely happy.

"If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving now."

Just as Ethan was about to leave, Michael called out, "Ethan, come with me to the study."

"Okay."

The grandfather and grandson entered the study.

"Ivy, didn't our son dislike arranged marriages? Why did he agree so quickly this time?"

"He's come to his senses. Marrying the White family's daughter is the right choice. I wonder what they're discussing in the study. I'll go take a look..."

Ivy quietly followed them.

Michael looked disappointed. "Ethan, I thought you had feelings for Ashley after being with her for so long. How can you talk about divorce just for the sake of benefits? Didn't you always despise your parents' behavior?"

"Grandpa, don't be upset," Ethan said. "I never said I was going to divorce Ashley."

"What do you mean? Bigamy is a crime!"

Ethan smiled. "Grandpa, I made it very clear. I'm willing to marry the real Ms. White from the White family, not an imposter."

Michael immediately understood. "Are you saying that Ashley... she is Ms. White?"

Ethan nodded.

"Could there be a mistake?"

Ethan shook his head. "No, I have investigated thoroughly and secretly collected blood samples from three people. The information is confirmed to be accurate."

"That's wonderful... It's like fate brought you two together..."

Ivy, eavesdropping outside the door, was so shocked by the news that she covered her mouth.

Her phone vibrated in her pocket. She quickly ran to a corner and saw that the caller ID was Ava. After hesitating for a moment, she answered.

Ava's sweet voice came through the phone. "Hello, Auntie, do you have time? How about we go for afternoon tea?"

Recalling the news she had just heard, Ivy wanted to refuse but also wanted to confirm it. So she said, "Sure, send me the location."

After agreeing on a place, Ivy left the Yates family mansion to meet Ava.

At the café.

Ava ordered two afternoon tea sets, and they arrived just as Ivy got there.

"Auntie, it's been a long time since we've seen each other. I missed you so much. Did you miss me too?"

Seeing Ava's sweet smile, Ivy didn't know how to describe her feelings.

"You are so adorable, of course; I missed you too."

The two sat down.

Ivy scrutinized Ava with a heavy heart.

Noticing Ivy's gaze, Ava asked curiously, "Auntie, why are you looking at me like that? Did my makeup smudge?"

Ivy said, "I suddenly thought of your mother. Looking at you, I realized you don't resemble your parents much."

But Ashley looked a lot like the Whites.

Hearing this, Ava's smile froze for a moment.

"Some kids don't look like their parents, but they're still biologically related. There's nothing that can be done about it..."

Ava's heart skipped a beat. She looked at Ivy suspiciously, her eyes flickering, her mind racing.

"Really?"

Ivy scrutinized her. "Ava, are you really the third daughter of the White family?"

Ava's eyes flickered. "Auntie, did someone say something to you to sow discord between me and the White family?"

Ivy shook her head but looked hesitant.

"Auntie, why are you being so suspicious? The White family and I did a DNA test. If you don't believe in science, are you going to believe in rumors?"

"Sorry, I forgot you did a DNA test."

Ava probed, "It's okay, Auntie. Who was so mean to try to drive a wedge between us?"

"Well, I overheard Ethan talking. He said he secretly did a DNA test and confirmed that Ashley is the White family's daughter. Maybe he made a mistake..."

Ava's heart raced.

Ethan had found out the truth! He would definitely reveal Ashley's true identity!

Damn it, she couldn't just give up like this!

"Really, Ethan must have made a mistake with the DNA report. Auntie, who else knows about this?"

Ivy didn't think much and said, "Just Ethan and his grandfather."

Ava's eyes flickered, and a sinister look appeared in her eyes.

An evil thought began to form...
