Chapter 105 Ethan Was Hypnotized
Ethan felt like he was out cold, but he could still hear people talking around him. He wanted to move but couldn't.
Someone touched him, and something was put on his face, making him super uncomfortable.
He frowned. Even though he was out, his anger and killing intent were palpable.
A man stepped out from the shadows of the lounge.
The man asked, "Ava, I overheard your conversation. He said you want to harm his mom and grandparents. Is he paranoid, or did you trick me into doing something bad?"
Ava looked hurt and cried. "Mr. Todd, how can you say that? You know my husband has paranoia. He accused me of those things because of that awful woman, Ashley. We love each other; why would I harm his family?"
"Really?"
Dax moved to check on Ethan.
Ava, alert, said, "Mr. Todd, my husband is a public figure. You can't reveal his private info. So I put a mask on him. Promise you won't take it off."
Dax hesitated. "Alright, I'm going to hypnotize him now. Please step out and silence your phone."
"Okay, Mr. Todd."
Ava left and closed the door, a sinister smile on her face.
Dax, a young hypnotist, had met Ava recently. He didn't know she had lied to him. She said Ethan was brainwashed, abandoned her, and married a bad woman...
Feeling sorry for her, Dax agreed to help. But after overhearing their conversation, he had doubts...
Despite his doubts, Dax decided to proceed.
After some prep, Dax asked, "Sir, can you hear me?"
In a semi-conscious state, Ethan groggily replied, "Yes..."
"Next, I'll use hypnosis to treat your issues and clear your emotions. Please relax and let me into your world..."
Dax's voice seemed to have a magical power, drawing Ethan's thoughts under his control.
"Sir, have you ever loved someone?"
In his semi-conscious state, Ethan's mind entered a dreamscape.
In the dream, he saw his family.
Ethan said, "Yes, I loved my dad and mom... but they divorced early. I love my grandparents even more. They're more important than my life!"
Dax continued, "Have you ever loved someone besides your family?"
A woman's face appeared in Ethan's dreamscape. Sometimes she was playful, sometimes gentle, and sometimes fiery. He couldn't help but smile.
"Yes."
"What's her name, and who is she to you now?"
Ethan replied, "Her name is Ashley Wilson. She's my wife."
'Ashley? Why does that name sound familiar?' Dax thought.
He remembered a woman trending on social media recently, Ashley, the wife of the nation's richest man, Mr. Yates.
'Could it be a coincidence?'
Suppressing his doubts, Dax asked, "When did you start loving your wife?"
As he asked, Dax recorded the conversation.
After a long pause, Ethan said, "I don't know when it started. Maybe the first time we met, or after we got married... Every time I see her smile, see the stars in her eyes when she looks at me, I feel so happy and always think about her..."
Hearing this, Dax sighed slightly. Ms. Wilson really had a strong hold on him.
"Do you know Ava? What do you feel for her?"
In Ethan's dreamscape, Ava's image appeared. He frowned, and his voice turned cold. "I used to feel grateful to her, but after learning she wanted to harm my family, I want her to be held responsible for her crimes!"
Dax believed Ethan had been severely brainwashed, mistaking an innocent person for a culprit.
"Why would she want to harm your family?"
"Because I discovered her secret. She stole my wife's identity. I asked her to clarify it, but she harbored murderous intent towards my family."
Ethan's voice was filled with regret.
Dax said, "Sir, I understand your situation. Now, I'll help you see the real facts. The truth is, you trusted the wrong person and misunderstood Ava. In reality, the woman you love is Ava."
"No, I don't love her!"
Ethan, semi-conscious, became agitated.
Dax took out a device and did something unknown, causing Ethan to calm down immediately.
"Sir, the facts are right in front of you. You were brainwashed and deceived, wrongly accusing your true love..."
Ethan, with his eyes closed, frowned deeply. He didn't love Ava. He was sure the person he loved was Ashley!
Meanwhile, Ryan had sent people to urgently search for Ethan. They finally spotted Ethan's car on surveillance.
"Mr. Reid, your friend entered this restaurant."
"Alright, come with me. Let's go find him now."
Before leaving, Ryan sent a message to Pauline. Pauline, who was in the hospital with Ashley, immediately informed her.
Ashley prayed, "Thank goodness, they've finally found Ethan. God bless, please let him be safe..."
