Chapter 132 Negotiation
The Yates Family
Ivy brought Felicity back to the Yates family and went straight to the study to give Ethan the exam report.
Ethan read it and fumed, "No way! I never touched her. This report has to be wrong!"
Ivy shot back, "I was there for the exam. We waited for the results before coming back. There's no mistake. You need to take responsibility. I'll deal with Ashley!"
Ethan stood up, radiating anger, and approached her coldly. "If you harm her in any way, don't think about coming back to the Yates family!"
Ivy shivered at his threat.
She quickly softened her tone. "Ethan, calm down. I never said I'd hurt Ashley. I'll talk to her and see what she thinks before we decide anything."
Ethan finally relaxed a bit, rubbing his temples. "I'll handle it. You can go now."
Ivy's words caught in her throat, the sight of his stern face silencing her.
As soon as she left, Ethan said, "Bring Felicity here. I need to talk to her."
"Okay."
Ivy found Felicity. "Felicity, Ethan may seem tough, but he means well. Go talk to him and make the most of it."
Felicity nodded shyly. "Okay."
A moment later, Felicity entered the study.
"Mr. Yates, you wanted to see me?"
"Sit down. Let's talk."
They sat facing each other. Felicity glanced at Ethan's intense eyes and felt guilty, lowering her head.
Ethan got straight to the point. "Ms. Zito, how much did my mom pay you to go along with this? Tell me the truth, and I'll give you ten times that amount."
Felicity looked troubled. "Mr. Yates, I don't know what you're talking about..."
"Don't play dumb. I started investigating as soon as you went to the hospital," Ethan said. "That night, all the servants were sent away by my mom. That proves you were up to something!"
Felicity replied, "How would I know? I'm just a guest. I couldn't send the servants away. Even if they were off, it doesn't mean it was planned."
Ethan sneered, "The servants never all take a day off. And..."
He paused, smirking coldly. "A servant came back that night to get something and was chased away by my mom. She said, 'Get out and don't ruin my plan!'"
"I suspect your plan was to ruin my relationship with Ashley!"
Felicity's heart raced with panic.
She thought quickly; the Zito family was under the Xavier family's control, so they couldn't defy ivy. But if Ethan helped her...
Maybe she wouldn't have to go through all this trouble!
Felicity looked at Ethan with a glimmer of hope.
Ethan noticed and said confidently, "Let me know when you decide. I might be able to help."
Felicity said, "Mr. Yates, the Zito family relies on the Xavier family for business. We can't go against them. About last night, it was..."
