Chapter 534 Happy Times
"Pearl, don't worry. Ian will get back to us soon, and I'm sure your brother is fine." Ethan tried to comfort Ashley, seeing how distracted and concerned she looked.
Ashley nodded. Though worried, she trusted Ethan to handle things.
"Daddy, what are we doing next?" asked Andy.
"Didn't Andy say he wanted to go fishing? Let's do that."
"Great!"
"Pearl, shall we?"
"Yes."
The family of four arrived at the pond. Ethan cautioned the children not to get too close to the water. They sat along the shore fishing, enjoying the evening breeze—it felt quite pleasant.
Andy gave Nate a meaningful look.
Nate stared back in confusion, whispering, "What is it, Andy?"
"Don't you remember our important mission? We need to help Mommy and Daddy recover their memories and convince them to return to Aivalia!"
"Oh, with everything that's happened, I almost forgot about that."
"Today is a good opportunity to bring it up."
"OK."
"What's going on with you two? Got something in your eyes?" Ethan asked, noticing the brothers' suspicious glances and whispering to each other.
"Daddy, when will you have a long vacation?" Andy asked.
"Me?" As the prince of Gold Valley District, Ethan was expected to assist His Majesty with governmental affairs. Without the King's permission, he had no vacation time.
"I don't have any. Even spending this weekend with you was something I had to arrange in advance."
Otherwise, he might be too busy to even have time for his children.
Nate looked disappointed. "What are we going to do? We were thinking about where to go for our next vacation."
"Where did you want to go?"
"To Aivalia."
"Aivalia?" Ethan looked at them in surprise.
Even Ashley, who had been quiet until now, asked with surprise, "Andy, Nate, why do you want to go to Aivalia?"
"Daddy and Mommy met and fell in love in Aivalia. You must have many beautiful memories there. Besides, we're Aivalian! Nate and I have never been there—we've never seen what it looks like. We want to visit."
"Yes, maybe if Daddy and Mommy go to Aivalia, you might recover your memories."
Ashley and Ethan exchanged glances.
Why hadn't they thought of that?
At this point, they had no memories of their past. Perhaps going to Aivalia might help them recover some information.
"Ethan, I think the children's suggestion is excellent. I haven't been back to Aivalia in many years. What do you think?"
Ethan considered for a moment, then said, "Alright, I promise we'll go."
"Yay! That's awesome!" Nate and Andy high-fived.
Watching the children's excitement, Ethan smiled indulgently. But a moment later, his expression darkened. Going to Aivalia would require his father's permission—something he'd have to work hard to secure.
Regardless, he was determined not to disappoint his wife and children!
Ashley looked at Ethan and caught his change of mood.
Andy's fishing rod jerked. "I caught one!" he called excitedly.
"I'll help you, Andy!" Nate exclaimed.
As the two little ones moved away, Ashley asked, "Ethan, is there something difficult about this? It's okay if we can't go to Aivalia—we'll understand."
Ethan gazed at her lovingly. "It's fine. Since I've promised, I won't disappoint you all."
With that, he gently pulled Ashley into his arms. "These happy moments with our family of four—let's not worry about trivial matters. I'll take care of everything."
Ashley nestled against him, her face radiant with happiness. "I know you're the best."
"Am I? Don't I deserve a reward?"
Ashley blushed, glanced at the children who were focused on the fish, and quickly kissed his cheek. "There's your reward. You're the best man in the whole world," she said softly.
With him around, she didn't need to worry about anything. Ashley felt she must have done many good deeds in her past life to be with such a wonderful man.
"Daddy, Mommy, your fishing rod is moving!" Andy called out.
"Coming!" Ethan took Ashley's hand, and together they pulled up the rod. Halfway through, it became difficult to move.
"Why is it so heavy? Did we catch a big fish?"
"Let me try," said Ethan, taking the rod and pulling hard while Ashley and the children watched expectantly.
Finally, the fishing rod came up, revealing a large fish.
"Wow, Daddy, you're amazing! You caught such a big fish!"
"Of course I'm the best."
"Daddy, why is this fish's belly so round?"
Ashley examined it closer. "Ethan, could this fish be pregnant?"
"I think so."
"Then let's release it."
"Good idea."
They were fishing purely for fun, not for food, and having experienced the joy of fishing, they naturally decided to release the pregnant fish.
"Andy, do you want to continue fishing?"
Andy shook his head. "Daddy, I'm done fishing. Let's walk around."
"Alright, let's go explore."
The two children ran ahead while Ethan and Ashley followed, holding hands. They smiled at each other, their eyes full of deep affection. The atmosphere was warm and romantic.
Mary arrived at the entrance of the estate, seeing the large letters "Starry Ridge Estate." She smirked coldly before stepping inside.
"Stop! This area is restricted. No outsiders allowed," a voice came through.
Mary raised her chin haughtily. "Open your eyes and look carefully. I am Ina Ross, daughter of Marquis Atreides Ross. His Majesty sent me to find the Prince!"
