Chapter 217 Sweet as Honey
Ashley sized her up.
She was a beautiful woman from Ferndale, with a warm smile that put people at ease.
Ashley raised an eyebrow and said, "Just browsing, probably can't afford it."
The woman smiled warmly, "No problem, take your time. I'm here if you need anything."
"Alright."
Ashley pointed to a few headpieces.
"This one, this one, and this one..."
The old clerk sneered, "Ma'am, you have a good eye. These are our bestsellers. They really suit you..."
Before she could finish, Ashley clicked her tongue.
The new clerk chimed in, "Actually, these are last year's items..."
The old clerk shot her a glare.
"I don't want any of these."
The old clerk rolled her eyes and went back to the counter, ignoring her.
The new clerk followed Ashley, "Ma'am, would you like to see other styles?"
Ashley nodded, liking the girl. "What's your name?"
"Tiffany."
"Your colleague is ignoring me. Why are you still helping? What if I don't buy anything?"
"Ma'am, whether or not a customer buys, I always serve them warmly."
Ashley nodded, "About those pieces I pointed out earlier..."
The old clerk, thinking Ashley had changed her mind, brightened up.
But Ashley said, "I still don't want them."
The old clerk scoffed.
"Wrap up all the new styles from this year for me."
The surrounding clerks widened their eyes.
"Okay."
The new clerk started packing, but the old clerk tried to take over. Ashley saw through it and said, "Today's order is Tiffany's commission. If anyone tries to take it, I'll return everything."
The old clerk backed off.
The new clerk looked at Ashley gratefully.
Ashley packed over thirty pieces of jewelry, costing at least a hundred thousand dollars.
Ashley raised an eyebrow at Ethan.
Ethan shook his head, smiling indulgently.
"Let's check out some shoes."
Ashley's foot had just healed, so she couldn't wear heels yet. She picked out a few pairs of flats for formal dresses, with the new clerk helping her all the way, making the old clerk envious.
Ethan saw the scene and smiled helplessly.
He texted a friend, and by the time he finished, the clerk was carrying large bags for Ashley.
"All done shopping?"
"Yep, swipe your card."
Ethan handed her a black card, "Swipe away."
Ashley gave the card to the clerk. While waiting, she asked, "Was I rude earlier?"
"Not at all, you were cute and assertive."
Ethan smiled, lifting her chin, "I like women like you."
When no one was looking, he sneaked a kiss.
Ashley blushed, her heart racing.
After leaving the store, they went to another one. After two hours, Ethan picked out a tailcoat, and Ashley chose a tie and a unique brooch for him.
Ethan asked, "Does this look good?"
"You can rely on my judgment. you'll be the star of the party tonight."
Ethan, with his great physique, looked like a model in the outfit.
His clothes were usually custom-made, but today, Ashley chose everything, and he was thrilled.
"Honey, I love anything you pick."
"You sweet talker!"
"Now it's your turn to pick a dress."
"Alright, wait a moment."
Ashley picked a plain dress. She went to try it on, and Ethan waited excitedly. After ten minutes, she still hadn't come out. He started to get anxious.
"Honey, ready yet?"
"Almost."
Ethan sat on the sofa, reading a newspaper to pass the time.
Suddenly, he heard the fitting room curtain open and looked up.
The orange light was dazzling, and he squinted. A woman in a plain dress walked towards him from the backlight.
Time seemed to freeze. Ethan felt like he was seeing a goddess.
"Honey, do I look good?"
Ethan's Adam's apple moved, restraining his urge to hug her.
"Beautiful..."
Beautiful was an understatement; she was stunning!
The dress was low-key but gave off a comfortable vibe, and on Ashley, it exuded tranquility.
"I also did my hair, so it took a bit longer. The party's about to start, let's go."
"Alright."
Ethan extended his hand, and Ashley took his arm. They walked out side by side.
Their intimacy made everyone envious!
