Chapter 359 The Fish Took the Bait

Landon carried Felicity into the car and rushed her to the hospital at dizzying speed. After more than two hours of emergency treatment, the light in the operating room went out.

Seeing the doctor come out, Landon stepped forward, inquiring, "Doctor, is the baby okay?"

Although Landon had no feelings for Felicity, the child was innocent, and he didn't want anything to happen to the baby.

The doctor replied, "The baby showed signs of a threatened miscarriage. This is the second time, but don't worry, we've managed to save it. She must stay in bed and maintain a good mood to avoid another miscarriage."

Landon nodded and expressed, "Thank you, doctor."

The doctor wheeled Felicity out, her pallid complexion catching Landon's eye. His frown deepened, and for a moment, he felt a twinge of sympathy.

Sympathy for Felicity?

Landon must be crazy to feel that way!

Felicity was placed in a VIP room, and Landon instructed the two bodyguards, "Stay here. If she has any reasonable requests, you can agree to them, but under no circumstances should she go out alone."

"Understood, Mr. White." the two bodyguards responded.

Landon glanced at the unconscious Felicity before turning to leave.

The next day

Felicity woke up and instinctively touched her belly. "Where's my baby? Is my baby okay?" she exclaimed weakly.

The door to the room opened, and a bodyguard walked in. "Ms. Zito, Mr. White brought you to the hospital last night. Don't worry, the baby is safe."

Felicity breathed a sigh of relief and looked around, realizing she was in a hospital room. For a moment, she felt a bit of fortune .

Felicity murmured, "Landon, maybe you don't completely hate me. Otherwise, why would you care about my life?"

In that instant, Felicity detected a trace of affection from Landon. This modicum of care made her feel like she was basking in the sunlight, and she smiled gently.

She tenderly caressed her belly and murmured, "Baby, whether Mommy can win Daddy's heart depends on you!"

The Yates Group

As soon as Ethan arrived at the company, George greeted him with an announcement, "Mr. Yates, I persuaded Josselin for a long time, and he agreed to sign the contract."

Ethan nodded, "Good, let's sign it today."

They went to the office, and the legal team brought out the contract. After signing two copies, Ethan, George, and Josselin each had their own contemplations.

Josselin extended his hand, expressing, "Mr. Yates, looking forward to our cooperation."

In response, Ethan reciprocated the gesture, "Josselin, so do I."

They shook hands, but there was a subtle rivalry in their eyes.

Ethan returned to his office to work. Diannel resumed his duties today and knocked on the door, "Mr. Yates."

Upon hearing Diannel's voice, Ethan glanced up and gestured for him to enter, saying, "Come in."

"Mr. Yates, I'm back to work." Diannel announced.

"Very well." Ethan acknowledged with a nod, adding, "While you were away for a month, I had Nick act in your position. Now that you're back, resume your normal duties and oversee his work."

Diannel held a special place in Ethan's trust.

These words reassured Diannel, who responded, "Understood, Mr. Yates, I'll get to work."

As Diannel was about to leave, Ethan interjected, "By the way, look into George."

"George ?" Diannel inquired, perplexed.

"Yes, I want all the information on George." Ethan instructed.

"Understood." Diannel replied.

Without asking why, Diannel always adhered to Ethan's directives.

Diannel left the office and saw many onlookers gathered outside, watching the scene. Surprised, he questioned, "What are you all doing here? Don't you have work to do?"

One of them retorted sarcastically, "Diannel, you went on a business trip to Maridia for a month, and Nick has already taken your place. Is Mr. Yates going to promote or demote you?"

Diannel coldly responded , "So much free time? How about working overtime tonight?"

His attitude and aura were quite similar to Ethan's, having been influenced by him for a long time.

The onlookers hushed and dispersed back to their workstations.

Nick stood not far away, awkwardly smiling at Diannel, "Diannel, pay no heed to their words. I was just following Mr. Yates' orders and never intended to take your position."

Diannel nodded and stated, "Everyone working here serves Mr. Yates. Just remember, we follow his directives exclusively. Now, get back to work."

Nick nodded, relieved that Diannel didn't make things difficult for him.

As Nick was about to return to his office, he ran into George.

With a meaningful smile, George invited Nick, "Nick, come to my office. Let's have a chat."
