Chapter 153 Leaking Information

Felicity didn't get why Ivy was so worked up, but she didn't dare ignore her.

"I overheard they're doing the DNA test again."

Ivy got really nervous.

"Again?"

Felicity, confused by Ivy's panic, replied, "Yeah. Anything else?"

"Felicity, did you hear anything else?"

Felicity thought for a bit. "Landon and Liam mentioned their long-lost sister has a sapphire necklace."

"Aunt, that's all I know."

Ivy thought about it. She hadn't seen Ashley with a sapphire necklace. Maybe Ashley hid it or lost it.

"Thanks, Felicity. Come to The Yates Mansion tonight; I made something tasty."

"Thanks, Aunt. I'll be there."

After hanging up, Ivy's head hurt from overthinking.

If they did another DNA test, all her efforts would be wasted.

Ashley, back with the White family and engaged to Ethan Yates, wouldn't want to leave him. If they didn't have kids, what then?

The Yates family was rich and powerful; they wouldn't let a woman who couldn't have kids be the mistress.

The more Ivy thought, the more panicked she got. She paced, trying to figure out how to stop the DNA test or keep Ashley from building connections with the White family.

Stuck, she called, "Catherine, I need help."

Meanwhile, Landon and Liam visited the orphanage to see the elderly couple.

In the hospital room, a middle-aged woman, still beautiful despite her age, heard footsteps and said, "Landon, Liam, you're here?"

They smiled.

"Mom, you can tell who it is just by footsteps?"

She smiled faintly, her eyes unfocused. "God closed one door but opened another. Though I'm blind, my hearing is sharp."

"Everyone's footsteps are different. I remember them after hearing once."

"Mom, you're amazing," Liam said.

Landon added, "Mom, let me help you to bed."

Mia White shook her head. "I want to feel the warm breeze."

She closed her eyes, enjoying the breeze from the window.

From their angle, her profile looked a lot like Ashley's. Landon and Liam exchanged glances.

"Landon, Liam, something's on your mind. What's bothering you?"

Landon shook his head. "Mom, nothing's wrong."

Liam disagreed, "That's not true, Mom. Landon is being stubborn. Our sister is right in front of us, but he won't accept it. I don't get it."

"You!"

Landon shot him a warning look.

"Sister? You found her? Where is she? Take me to her!"

Mia asked excitedly.

Landon, looking reproachful, said, "Mom, we haven't found her yet. Liam was being reckless. Last time, we mistook someone. This time, we did a DNA test, and it was negative."

"I didn't acknowledge that girl because I didn't want to disappoint you again. The DNA report says we're not related. Liam, how could you make Mom sad again!"

Landon finally voiced his thoughts. He was cautious and didn't want to act without certainty.

Mia's unfocused eyes teared up. She thought she had no more tears, but hearing about her daughter stirred her emotions.

"Landon, you didn't live with your sister much, so you don't remember her features. But I do. My daughter has birthmarks behind her ears and on her collarbone..."
