Chapter 95 Ava Strikes Again
Ethan looked deep into her eyes. "Babe, don't stress. I haven't divorced you, so how could I marry someone else? Bigamy's illegal!"
The logic made sense, but Ashley still felt uneasy.
"Then why did you publicly say you were willing to marry Ms. White?"
"Sweetie, don't rush. Give me a few days, and you'll understand."
Ethan gently patted her head.
Ashley wanted to trust him, but her mind was at war.
"How many days do I have to wait?" she asked seriously.
"The day after tomorrow, as planned. I'll handle it," Ethan replied.
Ashley took a deep breath. "Okay, I believe you..."
She hoped he wouldn't betray her.
Ashley hugged Ethan, her eyes filled with mixed emotions.
Ethan didn't notice and said warmly, "You must be hungry. I'll have someone bring dinner."
"Okay."
Just then, Ashley's phone rang.
"It's my parents. They finally decided to call me..."
Her tone was filled with disappointment and sorrow.
At the Yates family mansion, Ava stepped out of the taxi with a gift box, looking at the mansion with an unreadable expression. She clutched the box tightly.
"Ava, you're here?"
"Auntie, I brought you some desserts and a gift for Grandpa."
"Don't just stand there, come in and sit."
"Okay."
They entered the house, and Ava saw two people in the living room.
"Hello, I'm Ava."
"Hello, have a seat."
As they all sat down, Ava opened the dessert box. "Auntie, you always said you loved these desserts. They're really popular. I had to book way ahead to get them. Let's enjoy them together."
"Thank you, Ava."
Ivy said, "Dad, Mom, this is the long-lost daughter of the White family, my future daughter-in-law."
Ava blushed. "Auntie, what are you talking about? Let's eat the cake."
As she handed over the cake, a glint flashed in her eyes.
Michael immediately retorted, "Ivy, are you out of your mind? My granddaughter-in-law is Ashley. Don't say such things."
Ivy's face darkened, and Ava's face turned red and white.
"Ms. Lee, I didn't expect you to be the long-lost child of the White family. This is quite a surprise!"
"I know you haven't given up on Ethan, but he's married. You should respect yourself and not get involved with a married man. I hope you could repent and change your ways, or you might be a shameless homewrecker!"
He emphasized the word "shameless."
Ava felt extremely awkawrd.
She forced a smile. "Mr. Yates, you're right. I didn't come here for anything else but to share some desserts. Grandpa, Grandma, please try some too!"
Katherine said, "The cake is too sweet. We elderly folks shouldn't eat it."
Ava's eyes flickered.
"Mrs. Yates, I need to use the restroom. Can you show me the way?"
"Sure."
Katherine didn't think much of it and got up to lead her to the restroom.
After eating the cake, Ivy felt dizzy. "Dad, I'm feeling a bit dizzy. I'll rest in my room for a while. Please take care of Ava for me."
Michael nodded. "Go ahead."
In the restroom, as Ava and Katherine walked around a corner, there happened to be a staircase.
Ava gave a sinister smile.
"You humiliated me first; don't blame me for being ruthless!" she muttered.
"What did you say?"
Before Katherine could hear clearly, she felt someone push her. She screamed, "Ah—" and tumbled down the stairs.
"Mrs. Yates! Help, Mrs. Yates is hurt!"
Seeing Katherine unconscious, Ava shouted wickedly.
"What happened!"
Michael rushed over and saw Katherine on the ground, his emotions flaring up. "Katherine, what happened to you..."
The excitement triggered his heart condition!
Michael clutched his chest, crying out in pain, "Medicine... medicine..."
Ava grinned menacingly. "Mr. Yates, I won't give you the medicine. You can all just go to hell!"
