Chapter 490 Did You Miss Me?

"What? He's not Asclepius? That's impossible!" Alan was shocked. "I paid him $10,000 for one bottle of healing salve. Not only did it fail to heal my mistress's wounds, it actually made them worse! Are you just trying to dodge responsibility with these claims?"

Liam frowned. "I'm telling you the truth. That man is not Asclepius."

"Let me in so I can speak to someone in charge!"

"I don't work here. Causing a scene with me won't help!"

"You people..."

As they argued, a voice called out from behind them, "What's all this commotion?"

Liam turned to see Yaakov approaching. "Yaakov," he acknowledged.

Yaakov patted Liam's shoulder. "Liam, you got here quickly."

"Yeah. This man..." Liam sighed, "Look carefully—this is the real Asclepius. The man in your photo is an imposter. You've been scammed. File a police report instead of making a scene here."

Alan protested, "But he's one of your staff members! I saw him freely entering your facility."

Yaakov's expression turned serious. "Is that so? Let me see that photo."

Alan showed him Andrei's picture. After examining it, Yaakov clicked his tongue. "This guy's just a temp worker here, not a regular employee. You've been duped! You should report this to the police immediately."

"How could this happen?" The color drained from Alan's face. "He's just a temporary worker! Thank goodness my mistress was cautious, or his fake medicine could have caused real harm."

"By the way..." Alan turned to Yaakov. "It's an honor to meet you. I'm Alan. The main reason I came is that my mistress would like to meet with you."

"Meet me?" Yaakov smiled dismissively. "I don't have time."

"Not today then. Perhaps we could schedule another time?"

"Not tomorrow or the day after either." Yaakov replied coldly. "Do I look like someone with free time on my hands?"

Alan's expression faltered. "I see... When you have time in the future, I'll come back. Sir," he addressed Liam, "thank you for your help today. Fortunately, my mistress knows medicine and created her own healing salve. The effects were remarkable."

Yaakov, who had been about to leave, turned back in surprise. "What did you just say?"

Alan didn't immediately understand. "What?"

"Your mistress created her own healing salve?"

"Yes! I gathered the ingredients based on her instructions. She's suffered serious injuries and can't move easily at the moment."

"What kind of injuries?"

"Extensive skin damage."

Yaakov frowned thoughtfully.

There were many healing salves on the market, but most were mediocre—even with treatment, they typically left scars. Yet according to Alan, his mistress not only knew how to formulate medicine but created something highly effective!

The only person with that kind of formula was his master.

Suddenly, Yaakov's interest was piqued. He said, "How about this—give me your card, and I'll contact you next Saturday."

"Certainly!" Alan replied.

Alan excitedly handed Yaakov his business card, which Yaakov carefully pocketed.

"I need to get back to work now."

"Until next time."

After saying goodbye, Alan left, determined to report Andrei to the police.

Yaakov led Liam to the conference room, then went to his lab to retrieve the newly prepared healing salve for Liam.

"Yaakov, my brother mentioned you saw Ethan in Gold Valley District?"

"Yes."

"What's going on with him? After what happened to our sister, why did he leave without a word to the White family?"

Yaakov shook his head. "I don't know. He seemed not to recognize me."

Liam gave a cold laugh. "He must be too busy to remember people these days. Do you have his contact information? I'd like to see if he's forgotten me too!"

"I don't have his contact details, but..." Yaakov hesitated briefly, "I last saw him at a kindergarten. Perhaps if we go there on Monday, we might run into him again."

"Good." Liam took the healing salve. "Wait for me. I'll give this to my assistant to take back to my sister-in-law."

Yaakov nodded. "Alright."

At the Royal Palace

Alan returned to Azure Palace. "Miss, it turns out the man who sold me the medicine was a fraud. I've reported him to the police. Today I met the real Asclepius, who said he'll contact us next Saturday."

"Thank you for your trouble."

As Alan prepared to leave, Ethan returned.

Alan greeted, "Your Highness."

Ethan nodded. He then approached and gently took Ashley's hand. "Pearl, what happened to your wounds? They look worse."

"I'm fine," Ashley replied.

Ethan's anger flared. "What exactly happened?!"

Alan dropped to his knees. "Your Highness, it was my fault. Here's what happened..."

After Alan explained everything, Ethan's face darkened. "Go and accept your punishment."

"Yes, Your Highness."

With Alan and the maid gone, only Ethan and Ashley remained.

Ethan gazed deeply at Ashley, recalling Alan's words with lingering surprise.

"Pearl, I had no idea you knew how to formulate medicine. That's quite impressive!"

"What, did you think I was just a pretty face?"

Ethan smiled. "Not at all."

"Pearl, I spent the entire day with the children. After not seeing me all day, did you miss me at all?"
