Chapter 483 Good Morning Kiss
Ashley's face flushed pink. "Good morning."
Ethan's hand moved from her cheek to her chin as he leaned down slightly and kissed her.
Ashley's eyes widened. Instinctively, she wanted to push him away, but she couldn't move her hands.
Ethan had only intended a gentle kiss, but the moment his lips touched her soft ones, he seemed addicted.
"Stop..." Ashley opened her mouth to protest, but he simply stole her breath away until she felt dizzy. Only then did he reluctantly release her.
When Ashley came to her senses and saw Ethan's mischievous smile, she fumed, "Liar! You promised not to touch me!"
"Who said I'm a liar? I didn't touch you—I just kissed you."
"You... scoundrel... you're such a cad! I'll never agree to date you!"
"A man has to be a little bad for a woman to love him. Pearl, you'll agree eventually."
As he spoke, he planted another soft kiss on her cheek, then said, "Let me check your wounds."
Ashley glared at him furiously. She knew she should feel angry and hate him for his actions, yet her heart was racing uncontrollably.
Ethan lifted her shirt to examine her wounds. "The scabs are starting to come off. I'll clean them and apply medicine. After breakfast, you should rest. I need to pick up Andy, Nate, and Angela for our trip to the amusement park."
Ashley nodded. "Okay."
Ethan rose and went to the hall to get the medicine.
The old bottle of medicine had been used up last night. This morning, the doctor had sent a new cream. Ethan frowned at it. "Why does this bottle look different from the previous one? Are you sure it's the right medicine?"
"Your Highness, this is exactly what the doctor delivered this morning."
Ethan thought for a moment. "All right."
He went to the bathroom and returned with a basin of water. It was already 8:30 when he began cleaning Ashley's wounds and applying medicine.
Ashley said, "Your Highness, the children are waiting. Let the maid apply the medicine."
"No," Ethan replied. "They might hurt you."
"They won't. They've been helping me when you're not here. Besides, my wounds are healing—they're not as serious as before. This is your first time taking the children to the amusement park. You shouldn't be late and disappoint them."
Ethan considered this. "I suppose you have a point."
He called a maid over and instructed, "I need to leave. When you apply the medicine, be gentle. Don't press too hard or you'll hurt her."
"Yes, Your Highness."
Ethan gave Ashley a long look. "I'll be going now?"
"Yes, go ahead."
After leaving, Ethan changed his clothes. As he stepped outside, Ian met him. "Your Highness, the car is ready."
Ethan nodded. "Let's go to the Grayson residence."
In the car, Angela was waiting. "Good morning!."
"Good morning, Angela."
"Your Highness, we have some time on the journey. Why don't you lie down and rest? You've been suffering from insomnia for so long."
Ethan paused, suddenly realizing something: last night he had slept through the entire night.
No wonder he felt so refreshed this morning.
Ethan's lips curled into a smile. "No need. I slept very well last night."
Ian looked excited. "Your Highness, your condition has improved!"
Ethan shrugged. "I don't know. All I know is I slept through the night."
"That's wonderful! Your Highness, we should schedule a follow-up examination soon."
"Agreed."
As they spoke, the luxury car made its way to the Grayson residence.
At Azure Palace, the maid took out the ointment to apply to Ashley's wounds. "Miss, His Highness is so fond of you. It's truly enviable."
Ashley smiled, blushing as she recalled how Ethan had kissed her that morning before even brushing his teeth.
The maid opened the bottle and dipped a cotton swab into the medicine.
Ashley's nose twitched. "Is this new medicine?"
"Yes, miss. The doctor delivered it personally this morning."
"Could you bring it closer so I can smell it?"
"Of course."
The maid held the ointment under Ashley's nose. After carefully smelling it, she frowned. "This medicine smells different from yesterday's."
"Really?"
The maid sniffed it too but could only detect a medicinal scent without noticing any difference. "Do you have medical training, miss? How are you so sensitive to the smell of medicines?"
Ashley shook her head. "No... perhaps I just have a good sense of smell. The medicine definitely smells different. Please apply it to my hand first to see if there's any reaction before putting it on the larger wounds."
"Certainly."
The maid followed Ashley's instructions and applied the medicine to her hand first.
Meanwhile, at the research facility, Andrei entered the laboratory carrying a garbage bag. It was early, and the lab was empty.
He glanced at the security camera and began clearing trash from the desks, emptying waste bins into his garbage bag. When he reached Yaakov's workstation and spotted several jars of ointment, his eyes flickered. He positioned himself to block the camera's view while pretending to tidy the desk, and swiftly dropped the jars into his garbage bag.
Moments later, he left with the bag.
Just then, Yaakov was walking toward the laboratory while talking on the phone. "I have three bottles of the wound-healing ointment in total. Since you're Ashley's brother, I'll make an exception and send them to you."
On the other end, Landon replied, "Yaakov, thank you so much. Samantha's skin has been severely damaged. Please have the medicine ready—I'll send someone by private jet to collect it."
"Sure thing," Yaakov said. "By the way... I saw Ethan yesterday."
