Chapter 268 Promised to Be Just a Nap
Ashley watched Ethan finish his lunch and stood up, saying, "Babe, you go ahead and work. I'm heading home."
Ethan grabbed Ashley's hand and said, "Hold up. There's a lounge behind the office. You can chill there for a bit. I'll head home with you once I'm done, cool?"
Ashley thought for a moment and said, "Alright, since I got nothing going on this afternoon. I'll wait for you in the lounge."
Ethan nodded and led Ashley to a hidden door behind the office bookshelf. The lounge inside wasn't huge, but it had all the essentials.
"Wow, this place is pretty sweet, almost like a fancy one-bedroom apartment," Ashley said.
"You can crash here. It's super quiet," Ethan said, appreciating the peace. Resting here, no one would bug him.
Ashley said, "Alright, I'll take a nap first. You go ahead and work."
She knew Ethan was a busy guy and didn't plan to cling to him. Just as she was sitting on the bed getting ready to nap, Ethan sat down beside her, his eyes dark.
Ashley asked in surprise, "What are you doing?"
Ethan gave a mischievous smile, "It's nap time. Isn't it normal for me to nap with you?"
Ashley blushed. "Alright, but just a nap."
Ethan chuckled, took off his jacket, and lay down with Ashley. But then...
Ashley ended up making love with Ethan, and her clothes were even torn...
What a big lier!
Exhausted, Ashley fell asleep in Ethan's arms.
Around two in the afternoon, Ethan quietly got up, dressed, and left through the hidden door.
He had just sat down and was adjusting his tie when there was a knock on the door.
"Come in."
Ethan was struggling with his tie and, in frustration, he threw it aside, leaving two buttons of his shirt undone, revealing his sexy collarbone.
When Diannel and George walked in, they saw him looking very alluring.
The two exchanged glances, seemingly understanding each other.
George said, "Mr. Yates, regarding the second round of financing for the central property, I've made preliminary arrangements with Josselin. For the more detailed issues, you'll need to oversee them personally."
Ethan said, "George, there's no one else here. Just call me Ethan."
George smiled and said, "Ethan, when's the meeting with Josselin?"
Ethan looked at Diannel and said, "Diannel, cancel the afternoon meeting and replace it with a one-on-one with Josselin."
George replied, "Okay, Mr. Yates. Your meeting with Josselin is at three. We have an hour to prep."
Ethan said, "Alright, you go prep and bring me the relevant docs."
George and Diannel nodded and were about to leave when Ethan called out to Diannel, "Hey, have someone get some clothes for Ashley."
George and Diannel exchanged a glance and noticed the hickey on Ethan's neck, their eyes lighting up with a hint of gossip, "Okay, Mr. Yates."
Ashley woke up in the lounge a little after three and found her clothes totally trashed. She had to throw on one of Ethan's shirts.
Just then, her phone rang, "Hello."
Pauline's voice came from the other end. "About that medical conference, I've already signed you up. How's your paper coming along?"
Ashley frowned, "Didn't I tell you to cancel my registration?"
Pauline pleaded, "Come on, since you're already signed up, why not attend? I heard Asclepius is a medical genius, and since you and Asclepius share the same mentor, I want to see how you stack up in the medical field!"
"NO!" Ashley flatly refused, "I only learned a bit of medicine from my mentor. If you don't cancel the registration, I'll do it myself!"
With that, she hung up the phone.
Ashley got up and went to the bathroom to shower, totally unaware of the gossip brewing online.
At 2:30 PM
Ethan finished his work and was about to meet Josselin when there was a knock.
"Mr. Yates, Mrs. Yates's clothes are ready." Following Ethan's measurements, Diannel had prepared a dozen of the latest fashion styles.
Seeing this, Ethan said, "Good job. I'll give you a month's bonus."
Diannel couldn't help but cheer and added, "By the way, Mrs. Jones wants to see you."
Ethan asked, "Who?"
Diannel cautiously replied, "Ms. Jones."
Ethan's eyes turned cold. "I won't see her. From now on, if she comes to the company, don't let her in!"
Hearing Ms. Jones's name again, Ethan's expression remained stern.
At the Yates villa, when James and Ivy discussed remarrying, Ethan clearly saw the hatred in Doris's eyes. He believed she was not simple!
Just as he finished speaking, the office door opened, and Doris walked in directly.
"Mr. Yates, since you're here, let's talk." Doris took a seat without invitation.
Ethan's eyes were cold, "Get out!"
"Mr. Yates, why hold such a grudge against me?" Doris said, "I'm here to talk business. Regarding the financing for the central property, you suddenly excluded us from the first round. The Jones Group is sincere about joining the Yates Group for the second round and working together for mutual benefit."
Ethan sneered, "Ms. Jones, many people want to partner with the Yates Group. Who do you think you are?"
Their eyes met, Ethan's filled with hostility, while Doris's were very sincere.
