Chapter 11 Moving
In the meeting room of the Yates Group.
"Mr. Yates, about the Ferndale Royal Order project, we've got the world-famous designer Elisa on board as the project director. We're coordinating with her now."
"You mean Elisa, the one whose designs are always a hit? The Queen will love it."
Ethan asked, "When's the contract signing?"
"We set it for 3 p.m. today."
Ethan glanced at his watch. "That's too slow. Tell her to come now."
"Got it."
Ashley was sketching when her phone rang.
"Hello?"
Pauline said, "Ashley, the Yates Group wants us to meet right now. They seem in a rush. Can you go?"
Ashley kept sketching and checked the time. "No problem. Send me the address, and I'll head over."
"Alright."
A moment later, Pauline sent the location.
Ashley drove off, but at the intersection, someone suddenly dashed out.
"Are you blind?"
Ashley's heart skipped a beat, and she slammed on the brakes.
"Ma'am, are you okay?"
Ashley got out to help, worried the woman might be hurt.
The woman grabbed her, demanding compensation. Ashley explained she had an urgent meeting and gave her a business card, promising to take responsibility, but the woman insisted on immediate payment.
Ashley sighed, glancing at her watch. She was running out of time.
Ashley, who hated breaking promises, called Pauline. "Pauline, I accidentally hit someone, and she won't let me leave. Can you go to the meeting for me?"
"You're always so careful. Could it be a scam?"
"Maybe, but it's still my fault. Go as my assistant and handle the meeting. Let me know if there are any issues."
"Alright."
They hung up, and Ashley was left with a headache from the woman's yelling.
Pauline quickly got ready and headed to the meeting.
In the Yates Group.
Pauline arrived just in time, almost late.
"Sorry, traffic was bad. I almost didn't make it."
The Ferndale Royal project was a big deal, so Ethan was personally overseeing it.
"No problem, have a seat."
Pauline sat down and noticed the man across from her was both handsome and cold. She glanced at him a couple of times, and he shot her a sharp look, making her shiver.
Ethan scrutinized her. "Are you Elisa?"
Pauline replied, "I'm Elisa's assistant. She couldn't make it today, so I'm here on her behalf."
Ethan was displeased. "A $3 billion project, and she sent an assistant? Is this a joke?"
Pauline's heart skipped a beat, but she stayed calm. She'd seen a lot working with Ashley.
"Mr. Yates, Elisa needs to focus on her designs. If she gets bogged down by these meetings, it would cost more than $3 billion. Elisa's work is in high demand, not just by you."
Ethan narrowed his eyes, staring coldly.
Pauline swallowed nervously.
Mr. Yates had such a strong presence, just like Ashley!
Luckily, they didn't know each other. If these two ever teamed up, no one could compete them.
Ethan sneered, "You talk big. Seems like you don't need the money."
Ethan closed the file and said coldly, "Tell Elisa to meet me personally. If she neglects this again, I'll find a better designer!"
