Chapter 196 Emergency
Ashley and others showed up at the palace gate just as the delivery folks arrived.
After a quick chat, they decided to check the goods right there.
At first, the delivery guys were skeptical about Ashley, but once Diannel explained, they recognized her and agreed to the inspection.
They opened the fancy gift box, revealing a stunning pair of high heels. Everyone was blown away.
"These shoes are gorgeous!" they exclaimed.
Ashley felt proud seeing her design come to life.
"Diannel, can you ask them to bring the shoes to me so I can make sure there's nothing wrong?"
"Sure thing."
Diannel spoke to the delivery guys in Ferndalian, and they handed the shoes to Ashley. But as soon as they did, the heel fell off!
"Oh no, what's wrong with this heel?"
"Ashley, the heel's broken. The Yates Group is in big trouble!"
It was a total shocker!
Everyone was stunned.
"These shoes just came from the factory. How could the heel break? Are you messing with us?" Diannel accused.
The factory guys were just as shocked.
"Sir, we take this order very seriously. There's no way we'd make such a basic mistake..."
"Ashley, it looks like someone broke the heel on purpose!"
Ashley was shocked too, but getting mad wouldn't help. If they didn't fix this fast, the Yates Group was done for.
She felt the pressure, breaking out in a cold sweat.
Everyone was on edge.
Diannel was freaking out. "What do we do? The delivery is due soon! If Mr. Yates finds out, he'll be so disappointed..."
"Diannel, calm down."
Ashley’s eyes darkened, but she stayed calm. "I'll handle it."
Samantha and Pauline exchanged looks, surprised. "Ashley, what are you going to do?"
They knew her well and had a hunch about her plan.
Both almost shouted, "Are you crazy? You're risking your life!"
Ashley's eyes dimmed. "I have no choice. Pauline, get the tools. I'll fix it."
Though a designer, Ashley knew how to make finished products and could handle a broken heel quickly.
Samantha worried, "Ashley, your hand..."
Diannel added, "Mrs. Yates, isn't this too much? Your hand hasn't fully healed."
He wanted the Yates Group to survive but was worried about Ashley's health.
Ashley said, "Diannel, keep this a secret from Ethan."
Diannel hesitated, then bowed to Ashley. "Mrs. Yates, you're a great help to the Yates Group. Thank you..."
Ashley smiled helplessly at his expression.
They started fixing the heels right at the palace gate, drawing attention from passersby.
Ashley carefully examined the heels. They were beautiful and luxurious, perfect for Kelsey's birthday.
If she could tweak their performance...
With that thought, Ashley got to work.
She broke the heel off another pair of high heels.
Passersby gasped, "What's she doing? Is she saving the shoes or ruining them?"
