Chapter 252 The Dominant Mr. Yates

"What did you just say?! Ashley's been kidnapped?!" Ethan's face went ghost-white, eyes popping out of his head. The second he heard Ashley was snatched, it felt like his heart jumped out of his chest.

"Damn it!" If anyone laid a finger on Ashley, they'd regret it big time. "Send me the address!"

Ethan got the address from Diannel and bolted to his car. In no time, the car was flying down the road like it had wings.

In the car, Ethan barked, "What the hell happened? Why'd they take her? Who are these people? Got any info?"

On the phone, Diannel said, "The cops ID'd the kidnapper. His name's Jimmy Flores, fifty years old. He wants you to come and negotiate!"

"He's after me? Who sent him?" Ethan was baffled.

In the business world, Ethan had stepped on a lot of toes, so it wasn't rare for people to come at him sideways.

"Mr. Yates, after digging around, I found out he's one of the folks from the Market Street development site. He's pissed about the relocation money and decided to go all out." Diannel explained.

"Damn it!" Ethan muttered, "He's asking for it!"

Ethan got to the scene as fast as he could.

"Ethan's here!" a reporter yelled.

"Mr. Yates, what do you think about Mrs. Yates being kidnapped?"

"Mr. Yates, are you gonna rescue Mrs. Yates yourself?"

Ethan kept his mouth shut.

A swarm of reporters saw Ethan's stormy face as he pushed through the crowd and started firing questions.

Ethan's face was stone-cold, veins popping on his forehead, eyes blazing with fury.

"Get lost!" Ethan roared, and the reporters instantly shut up.

He shoved through the crowd and got to the coffee shop entrance.

The cops filled him in on the situation.

Inside, Jimmy saw Ethan and yelled, "All media, listen up! It's him, Ethan, and his heartless company. They're ruthless with their demolitions, and they skimp on the compensation. Shouldn't he be punished?"

The crowd buzzed with shock.

Everyone knew the Yates Group was loaded, but no one thought they'd be so cheap with demolition payouts.

A reporter jumped on it, "Dear viewers, you're seeing a major kidnapping case in Aurora. This man accuses the the Yates Group CEO of being stingy with compensation. What do you think?"

People love drama, and many thought the Yates Group must've done some shady stuff to get so rich. As the news went live, folks started buzzing about the Yates Group.

The hashtag #YatesGroupStingyCompensation blew up online.

Facing Jimmy's wild accusations, Ethan stayed ice-cold. He listened as Jimmy kept throwing blame his way.

"Mr. Yates!" Diannel showed up, out of breath, "We got the evidence."

"Good!" Ethan sneered.

Diannel whispered, "Mr. Yates, the Yates Group's stock is tanking, and the government's watching this. We need to fix this fast!"

"I get it." Ethan nodded.

Inside the coffee shop, Jimmy kept ranting, "We should sue the Yates Group and make them pay. Ethan, give back all the money you owe us."

Ethan coldly replied, "Are you done? Now it's my turn to talk!"

His voice wasn't loud, but it carried a weight that made everyone shut up.

Instantly, the crowd went silent, not daring to make a peep.
