Chapter 382 The Children's Names
Ashley held Ethan tenderly, gently rubbing his back. "I'm right here with you, darling. How could you possibly lose me?"
After resting against Ashley for a while, Ethan's headache gradually subsided, and his complexion improved.
"You'll always be by my side," Ethan said with renewed confidence. "So, which Mexican restaurant should we try tonight?"
Ethan figured his earlier nightmare must have been troubling him. By the time the movie ended, it was dinner time.
Ashley searched on her phone. "How about this place?" she suggested.
"Let's go," Ethan nodded.
As they prepared to leave, someone knocked on the theater door. The manager respectfully asked, "Mr. and Mrs. Yates, may I open the door now?"
They exchanged knowing smiles, though Ethan's voice remained cool. "Yes."
When the manager opened the door with a professional smile, he addressed Ashley directly. "Mrs. Yates, was your viewing experience satisfactory?"
"Very much so," Ashley replied with a smile.
"We welcome you both to visit again," the manager said.
Ashley requested, "We're heading out now. Do you have masks available? And perhaps we could use the staff exit?"
"Of course. Please follow me."
The manager provided them with masks and baseball caps. Their movie date had quickly caught public attention, with #Yates CEO On Romantic Movie Date trending online. The theater was surrounded by people waiting to catch a glimpse of them, as if they were celebrities.
Unfortunately for the eager crowd outside, they had no idea that Ethan and Ashley had slipped away in disguise through the staff exit.
Learning from their theater experience, they remained exceptionally low-key, avoiding crowded areas on their way to the Mexican restaurant. By evening, the restaurant was bustling, so they reserved a private room, keeping their heads down until they finally removed their masks and caps inside.
"Honey, being with you just gave me a taste of what celebrities feel like when mobbed by fans," Ashley laughed. "It's rather intimidating."
Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Who do you think they were following—you or me?" His eyes flashed with a protective gleam. "If they're following you, I might have to break some legs."
Ashley burst into laughter. "That's so excessive! You can't just ignore the law!"
"I think it's because we're so affectionate with each other," she continued. "They're following us as a couple. Maybe we're making them believe in love."
Ethan scoffed. "Making them believe in love? Don't they have their own love lives?"
"How would I know?" Ashley shrugged.
"Why waste time watching other couples when they could be dating themselves?" Ethan remarked.
Ashley cringed slightly. "If internet users heard you say that, you'd definitely get canceled online."
Ethan laughed heartily, his perfect smile radiating warmth. Ashley found herself captivated by this lighthearted side of him.
When the server arrived with menus, they began ordering. Half an hour later, their dishes arrived.
Ethan noticed Ashley staring at him. "Sweetheart, don't just look at me—eat your food."
They enjoyed their Mexican dinner—the first they'd had together since getting married, and Ethan's first experience with Mexican cuisine ever. Initially hesitant, he soon developed an appetite once he discovered the flavors he liked. After their satisfying meal, night had fallen.
Still wearing their hats and masks, they strolled through the night art market. The market displays were dazzling, but having already eaten, they weren't interested in food stalls. The artistic items didn't catch their attention either, so they wandered to the riverside.
A large lawn stretched along the riverbank where many people sat gazing at the stars. They found a spot to sit, with Ethan embracing Ashley as they silently admired the night sky, surrounded by an atmosphere of romance.
After some time, Ashley spoke, "Honey, what names should we give our babies when they're born?"
Ethan thought for about fifteen minutes before answering. "If it's a boy, Pax. If it's a girl, Helena."
Ashley repeated softly, "Pax... Helena. You choose such beautiful names."
Ethan affectionately tapped Ashley's nose. "You're no less amazing, sweetheart."
Ashley smiled. In marriage, mutual respect was essential, and occasionally showing admiration helped partners feel accomplished—though Ashley genuinely admired Ethan.
"It's getting late. We should head back."
As they stood up hand in hand, Ethan suddenly felt dizzy. His vision darkened, and he lost control, falling backward.
Ashley's expression changed dramatically as she cried out, "Honey!"
