Chapter 165 Awkward Moment
"Come on, Ashley, try the fruit I cut for you."
Ivy grinned, picked up a piece with a toothpick, and held it near Ashley's lips.
Ashley felt uneasy with Ivy's enthusiasm. She knew it was a trap.
"Mom, thanks, but I don't want any."
Ivy insisted, "Just try it. I cut these myself. Even Ethan hasn't had this privilege yet."
Ashley glanced at Ethan, who looked back at her. Their eyes met, and they shared a sweet smile.
Ivy noticed and, annoyed, shoved the fruit closer to Ashley's lips. "Stop looking around and eat."
Ashley reluctantly took a bite but didn't chew. "Mom, what are you doing?"
"I'm feeding you. Your hands can't move. Should I let Felicity do it?"
Felicity, indifferent, picked up a piece of cake and some fruit. "Aunt Ivy, it's delicious. Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Ivy turned to Ashley with a forced smile. "Look at Felicity, she gets her own food. You, you're like a little kid, gotta be fed and then you're picky about it. What's the problem, huh?"
Ashley didn't argue. Seeing Felicity eat the fruit, she let her guard down and chewed the grape. "Mom, thank you."
"I'm only doing this for Ethan's sake. Look at you, can't move your hands or feet, needing someone to serve you. What does Ethan see in you? Did you cast a spell on him?"
Ashley glared. "Mom, you've been watching too many TV dramas."
Ivy pouted. "Just eat."
With a sour attitude, she kept feeding Ashley fruit. After a few grapes, Ashley said, "Mom, thank you, I'm full. I don't want to eat anymore."
Since her hands and feet became inconvenient, she ate and drank very little to avoid troubling others and embarrassing herself.
"You're barely eating anything! Are you sure you're getting enough?" Ivy pushed. "Come on, eat some more."
Ashley was forced to eat more, feeling her stomach about to burst. She glanced at Felicity for help, but Felicity ignored her.
Feeling helpless, Ashley looked at Ethan, who looked back at her.
"Ethan, did you win your game?"
"Ashley, Ethan keeps looking at you and has lost several rounds because of it."
Ashley smiled. "It's getting late. How about we go rest?"
"Okay, I'll take you to your room."
Ethan put down the game controller and walked towards Ashley.
Ashley smiled at Ivy. "Mom, thanks for the fruit. I'm full. I'll go rest now."
"Alright."
Ivy snorted, pretending not to care.
Ethan pushed Ashley's wheelchair towards the master bedroom.
Ivy's smile faded. She seemed eager to see what would happen next.
After they left, Ivy called all the maids in the villa. "Tonight, you all have a special day off. Go home."
