Chapter 302 Ethan's Two-Week Business Trip
Ashley decided to crash at the White's for a bit. Perfect timing to dodge Ethan. She'd finally chilled out and didn't wanna see him and mess things up more for herself!
Finally back with her fam, she was all smiles and didn't wanna think about any bad stuff!
After some chit-chat, the butler brought Samantha in.
"Ashley, here's the med kit you wanted." Samantha lugged in this big, fancy-looking med kit. Ashley grabbed it and said, "Thanks, Samantha. Take a load off."
Samantha's eyes flicked over to Landon, who was just sipping his tea, acting like she wasn't even there.
Liam was stoked to see her, so he greeted her all excited, "Samantha, hey! Long time no see."
Samantha smiled, "Liam, it's been a minute."
Liam grinned, "It hasn't been that long. Didn't we just have dinner a few days ago? Oh, and guess what? We did another DNA test with Ashley, so now she's officially mine and Landon's sister!"
Hearing this, Samantha was thrilled and grabbed Ashley's hand, "Ashley, that's awesome! Congrats on finding your fam!"
Ashley smiled, "Thanks. Let me introduce you. These are my parents."
"Hey there." Samantha gave a little bow.
Mia asked, "Who's this?"
Ashley replied, "Mom, this is my good friend Samantha."
Mia welcomed her, "Got it. Samantha, make yourself at home."
Everyone was buzzing, except for Landon, who was just chilling in the corner, looking like he didn't belong. Especially seeing how chummy Samantha and Liam were, Landon got even more distant and cold.
Samantha sneaked a peek at Landon and, seeing his grumpy face, said, "I gotta bounce, got stuff to do."
As Samantha was about to leave, Ashley got up and grabbed her arm, "Samantha, you in a rush? If not, could you stick around and help me out?"
Landon's voice came out of nowhere, "It's still early. Stay a bit longer."
Even though he sounded calm, there was a hint of a command in his voice. Samantha's face got a bit weird, "Alright."
She sat back down.
Ashley glanced at Landon and then at Samantha, feeling some weird vibes between them.
She deliberately said, "Samantha, can you do me a solid?"
"What's up?"
"I'm gonna whip up some meds for my parents. Later, I'll have Landon drive you to the pharmacy to pick it up for me. Cool?"
Samantha's back went rigid. She glanced at the ever-chill Landon and said, "Alright."
Ashley popped open the med kit, grabbed some paper and a pen, and started scribbling down two prescriptions. One for John, one for Mia.
Everyone watched her write. At first, they were kinda skeptical, but seeing how she handled the herbs, they felt more at ease.
"Just these two prescriptions?" Liam said, "I can take 'em."
Ashley coughed, "Liam, I need to talk to you."
Liam sighed, "Alright then. Samantha, looks like it's on you."
Samantha said, "No worries, Ashley. I'll be back soon."
Samantha took the prescriptions and saw Landon get up, grab his coat, and head out. She followed him.
Ashley watched them leave, deep in thought.
Liam came over, looking all mysterious, "Ashley, what do you wanna tell me?"
Ashley pulled Liam aside, "Liam, I think there's something going on between Landon and Samantha. Are they a thing?"
Liam shrugged, looking puzzled, "How would I know!"
Liam muttered, "Why you asking?"
Ashley said, "There's something I haven't told Landon. If Landon and Samantha are already together, spilling this might mess things up for them."
So, Ashley was still on the fence about telling Landon about Felicity's pregnancy.
Seeing her serious face, Liam knew this was big and said, "I'll ask Landon when he gets back."
Ashley nodded, "Thanks, Liam. I'm gonna give Mom and Dad some therapy."
"Okay." Liam followed her and watched Ashley work.
Ashley was deep into the massage and didn't hear her phone ringing. Liam saw the caller ID and took the phone outside to answer it.
Liam said, "Ethan, what's up?"
On the other end, Ethan was quiet for a moment and then said, "Where's Ashley? Why isn't she picking up?"
Liam said, "She's giving..."
Just as he was about to spill, he remembered Ashley had asked him to keep it hush-hush, so he stammered and changed his words, "She's giving Mom a massage. Need something? I can pass the message."
Ethan said, "Tell her I'm on a business trip and will be back in about two weeks."
"Got it, Ethan!" Liam replied.
Ethan hung up, a hint of regret in his eyes.
Nick, holding two plane tickets, said, "Mr. Yates, it's time to board!"
Ethan took the ticket and boarded the plane with Nick.
For some reason, Ashley not picking up gave him a bad feeling.
