Chapter 415 Evil Spirit Sparks Controversy Again
After spending time with Michael and Katherine in the living room, the elderly couple retired to their bedroom as Katherine was growing tired. Ethan and Ashley also retreated to their master bedroom.
Once inside, Ethan couldn't keep his hands off Ashley, embracing her from behind and refusing to let go.
"Honey, what are you doing?" Ashley playfully protested. "It's too hot for this."
"I'm just checking on my babies," Ethan replied softly.
"Could you at least change positions?" she asked.
"Absolutely not," Ethan declared possessively.
He pulled Ashley closer, gently placing his palm over her small bump with a tender, paternal expression. Maintaining his embrace, he bent down to rest his ear against her belly, listening for the babies' heartbeats. He felt a small kick against her stomach.
"You little rascal," he scolded playfully, "stop bothering your mother."
Ashley watched Ethan with pure happiness as he caressed her growing belly. "Honey, the babies are almost three months along now, right?" he asked.
Ashley nodded.
"When we saw Nathan's youngest son today, I couldn't believe how adorable he's become," Ethan mused. "I suddenly can't wait to see what our babies will look like."
"I wonder if they'll take after you or me," Ashley said.
"With our good looks, they'll be beautiful either way," Ethan replied. "Sweetheart, I'm delegating my work tomorrow so I can accompany you to the parenting class."
Ashley nodded and kissed his cheek. "You're the best!"
Ethan gave her a mischievous smile before gently laying her on the bed, and the couple shared a tender moment of intimacy.
In the middle of the night, Ashley woke up to use the bathroom. Unable to fall back asleep afterwards, she quietly opened her laptop and typed several thousand words to complete her academic paper. She published it on an online forum with the title #Follow-up on the Miracle Cure for Terminal Diseases. The paper detailed how Panacea could completely cure late-stage cancer within just one month.
Once published, her article immediately went viral. The same experts who had previously dismissed Ashley's claims emerged to accuse her of spreading misinformation.
The next morning, Ethan was awakened by a phone call from Diannel. "Mr. Yates, 'Evil Spirit' is trending again!" she reported urgently.
Ethan noticed Ashley still sleeping beside him and lowered his voice. "What happened?"
"She published a follow-up paper claiming her herbal formula can cure cancer in a month. It's causing quite a controversy—people are demanding she clarify her statements."
"Have you identified 'Evil Spirit' yet?" Ethan asked.
At the mention of "Evil Spirit," Ashley's eyelids fluttered slightly. She had actually awakened when Ethan first stirred but pretended to be asleep when she heard him on the phone. She was surprised to hear him mention "Evil Spirit."
"Yes," Diannel replied. "She won't meet with us, but I tracked her location."
Ethan smiled. "Send me the address. I'll find her myself."
After hanging up, Diannel sent coordinates that matched the apartment complex Ethan had visited the previous night.
Ethan was surprised, thinking, 'What a coincidence—Evil Spirit lives in the same building as Ryan?'
Ashley stirred beside him, and Ethan set down his phone, looking at her tenderly.
"Good morning, honey. You're awake?"
"Yeah."
"Sleep a bit longer. I'll prepare breakfast, and afterward we'll go to the parenting class."
"Sounds perfect. You're so thoughtful."
Ashley thoroughly enjoyed Ethan's attentive care.
An hour later, Ethan personally cooked eggs and warmed milk before calling Ashley down for breakfast. She had just changed into her maternity clothes. Though carrying twins and not quite three months along, her belly looked as prominent as someone six months pregnant.
Ethan smiled. "Those maternity clothes look lovely on you."
"You always know just what to say," Ashley replied.
Ethan took her hand as they walked. "Careful on the stairs."
"I will be."
In the dining room, Ashley inhaled the aroma of freshly cooked eggs. "You're amazing—perfectly cooked eggs without burning them!"
"Eat up," Ethan said. "I'll make you breakfast every day from now on."
"I'd like that."
Ashley felt completely enveloped in happiness.
After breakfast, Ethan drove them to the shopping mall where the parenting class was held.
Their arrival caused an immediate stir.
"Look, it's the Yates couple! I can't believe they're attending a parenting class together."
"They look even better together in person than in photos."
Ethan was accustomed to such attention, but Ashley felt uncomfortably conspicuous and smiled awkwardly.
"I forgot to remind you to wear a mask," she whispered.
"It's fine," Ethan smiled. "Class is about to start. Let me help you find a seat."
They entered the conference room as other attendees arrived. Throughout the class, Ashley paid close attention while Ethan doted on her—offering fruits, pastries, and water, even massaging her shoulders to ensure she was comfortable. Other couples watched enviously.

After class, as Ethan and Ashley prepared to go shopping, Ethan's phone rang again.
"Mr. Yates, we can't contain the Evil Spirit situation anymore," the caller said urgently. "She must appear publicly to verify the medicine's efficacy."
