Chapter 146 Key Investigation
Ethan's eyes were glued to the screen.
In the surveillance footage, Ivy was taking Felicity to the hospital for a check-up, and the whole process was captured by multiple cameras.
A bit later, Ethan spotted something odd and asked, "Why did Felicity suddenly disappear here?"
"Mr. Yates, let's switch the footage and see if we missed anything."
"Do it, quick!"
A moment later, the technician said, "Mr. Yates, around 10:30 AM, after Ms. Zito's check-up, she headed to the restroom but then diverted to the stairwell, which is a camera blind spot. She stayed there for about 20 minutes before coming out."
Twenty minutes was plenty of time for Felicity to bribe a doctor.
Ethan asked, "Can you find out who else went to the stairwell during that time?"
"Hold on, we'll check again."
The technician's eyes were bloodshot from staring at the screen. Ethan patted their shoulder and said, "Thanks for your hard work."
While the technicians kept reviewing the footage, Ethan ordered drinks and lunch for them.
Reviewing surveillance footage takes a lot of time and patience. The technicians watched it several times and identified two suspicious individuals.
"Mr. Yates, we found two people who entered the stairwell at the same time. Both are doctors here, Derek Turner and Matthias Young."
"Great, thanks for your hard work."
Just then, the food Ethan ordered arrived.
"This is for you, and I'll also ask the director to give you a raise."
"Thank you, Mr. Yates."
Ethan turned and headed to the director's office. When the director saw him, he quickly nodded and bowed. "Mr. Yates, please have a seat. I'll get you some coffee."
Ethan sat in the executive chair, looking serious and a bit arrogant. He got straight to the point. "No need for the pleasantries. I'm here to see two people. Call them in."
He showed the director photos of the two doctors.
The director glanced at them and said, "Alright, Mr. Yates, I'll have them come right away."
Moments later.
Dr. Turner was the first to arrive. He thought the director had called for him, but as soon as he entered, he saw Ethan sitting in the director's chair with his legs crossed, while the director stood by with a smile.
"Mr. Yates, this is Derek, one of our doctors. He has over thirty years of clinical experience. Are you looking for him because..."
Ethan shot him a cold glance, and the director's smile froze.
"You can leave now. I need to talk to him."
"Alright."
As the director left, he gave Derek a look and whispered, "Be careful with what you say!"
Derek nodded nervously.
Ethan didn't notice their exchange and said, "Derek, have a seat."
"Mr. Yates, what can I do for you?"
Ethan was well-known, and many people recognized him.
Plus, the Yates Group was a major shareholder in the hospital, and as its president, Ethan outranked the director. What could he want with Derek?
Derek was on edge.
Ethan's face was stern and serious. "I want tl ask you what happened the day before yesterday. Around 11 am, were you in the stairwell? Did you notice anything unusual - see or hear anything?"
Derek tried to recall the events of that day, which he had almost forgotten. But Ethan's question jogged his memory.
However, thinking about that day made his heart race.
"Mr. Yates, why are you asking? Did something happen?"
"Just answer my question. You don't need to know anything else."
Ethan noticed his guilty expression and asked directly, "So, what exactly did you see or hear?"
Derek said, "The day before yesterday morning, I did see..."
