"The investigation showed Felicity was cherished for the first three years. But after her brother was born, things changed. Neighbors often heard David yelling and belittling her."

May paused.
Hearing Felicity's story, May felt shocked and sad. Her life had been so tough, it was hard not to feel for her.
Ashley murmured, "I didn't expect Felicity to have it so rough."
"And then?"
"Despite everything, Felicity had to care for her paralyzed mom in the hospital while also dealing with David and her spoiled brother. Neighbors often saw her being abused."
The room fell silent, the atmosphere heavy.
Ashley said, "She's so pitiful; she can't be a ruthless person. Why is she trying to ruin things between Ethan and me?"
May said, "According to my investigation, Ivy visited the Zito family recently."
"My investigation shows Ivy's family, the Xavier family, has business ties with the Zito family. A large portion of the Zito Group's shares is funded by the Xavier family, and many top executives are from the Xavier family."
"That's all what I've found out."
Ashley thought for a moment and speculated, "So, Ivy wants to drive me away because I can't have kids. Felicity is under Ivy's control. She doesn't want to hurt us, she's just terrified of the Xavier family."
May said, "I don't know, Ashley. Should I keep investigating?"
Ashley said, "Yes, keep going."
While feeding Ashley some fruit, Samantha said indignantly, "Her past may be tragic, but that doesn't excuse the terrible things she's done. She needs to be held responsible for her actions."
"She tried to frame you and messed with me!"
Thinking about what happened the night before last, Samantha felt indignant.
"You're right. We can't let her off just because of her sad background if she did something illegal. Now we just have to see if Ethan has found any clues."
"Ashley, this has taken up most of your day. You should rest and work on some design drafts. The Yates Group liked our initial drafts, but they want to see even better work. We need to buckle down and keep working this afternoon."
"Okay."
Samantha carefully laid her down to rest and covered her with a blanket.
After resting and gathering some inspiration, she would have to keep working in the afternoon. It had been a non-stop day!
At that moment, in the director's office.
"Mr. Yates, Dr. Young is here."
